Is the Aldon Era over? No, he is a great trainer who is currently training average riders. Move Jett to KTM and train with Aldon and the Aldon era starts over again.

Aldon is great at training and marketing , he made million of dollars taking credit for turning champions into champions.

Dungey directly credited Aldon for his back to back championships. He also stated that he regretted not going to Aldon when he had the chance after the JS7 breakup. Dunge had the first shot at him and declined. So RV went with Aldon and the rest was history.

Dungey trained at RC’s place for several years.

You do know that ktm has a retainer on Aldon so no other manufacture is allowed there. So he is getting a big a salary alone from that.

This made me think about how old Aldon is and if he wants to retire. He's only 54yrs old? That blew my mind.

He does look a hell of a lot older than that.  Maybe his training and diet methods aren't so great after all.

Another older trainer was Mark Barnett’s trainer Leon Wolek.. Barnett told me at Monster Mountain Leon showed him that he could run those sand hills without his heart exploding lol. Leon had an energy drink called QEM and another called E.R.G. I believe. He is standing in the famous “Let Brock (Broc) by” photo.

As long as certain people at KTM are getting some of that money as a kick back he should be right.

My opinion is that he was one of the pioneers of structured, scientific training in our sport and is a part of the foundation that has been built off by others for the last 25 years.

There’s multiple approaches to training now, and some approaches gel with certain riders and some don’t. Think about how many riders have worked with Aldon at some point and are currently racing or training others. They take some bits they learned from Aldon that worked, and maybe learned from things that don’t, and now put their own twist on it based on their experiences.

Aldon is still obviously extremely relevant, he’s just not the only dude in the game any more and his approach isn’t the only one that works. And as we’ve learned from guys like AC, his approach doesn’t work at all for some. But the championships don’t lie, and his guys are always toward the front.

I think AC's biggest problem when he was training with Aldon was that he was a literal child being trained like an adult.

I wouldn't put it past a little bit of AI, little bit alarm clock, talent and desire and you can be a high performance moto rider without paying 6 figures to a 'trainer'.

Do you really think that’s why they pay a trainer big money?

I think it is more for the regimentation and discipline than techniques, isn't it?

The structure and regime are part of it, but nobody wants to believe why guys pay some trainers big money.

I think you are confused.

the dean baker from Florida that has worked for several moto teams in R&D and wrenching was a pretty fast am rider in the early 90's and would not be 60 yo yet

You may be correct, who was the trainer who worked with Weinert? I will look him up maybe.

Weinert was fit…… he was on the ABC sports show “Superstars” and had a strong showing 👍

Or maybe not.

The title questions his current status.

Surprised @Falcon hasn't popped in to clarify whether or not there's a bun in the oven.

Curious what the top amateur kids are getting with a trainer and what they are paying. I know what we get for BMX. We're training 6 days a week and riding 2-3 of those days. I can't say what we are paying.

Right, did you ever think Dunge lost to RV because he outworked him? Hell no. RD was so fit. Maybe working with Aldon helped him mentally.

This is 100% correct . Buddy of mine has trained a bunch of top guys over the years - is now training JuJu  - but isn’t interested in going “ all in “ with moto so nobody knows who he is.

Aldon is a decent trainer - obviously - but his self marketing & promotion is next level and the real key to the following he has in moto.

Cue the down votes & slating ..

Aldon  = Structure, Accountability, Confidence.

Simple:  look at how many riders left Aldon, and how many championships do they have?

How many riders stayed with Aldon, and how many championships do they have?

Did all the 250 program side of the Bakers Factory fold up due to the bankruptcy stuff so now Sextin basically rents out the whole half of the 2nd phase of bakers factory for himself?

I’m no expert and no insider so what I think may be completely off. But sometimes I think the program is too focus on doing motos, pounding laps and trying to go fast and not enough on section and or technique. I say this because I remember Deano talking about his time there in one of his vlog and he was talking about Jaleek Swoll. He said Jaleek was decent around the whole supercross track but the whoops were killing him and that what he needed was probably just a week straight of hitting whoops. Instead, he was just going through the same program as everyone else, doing 30’s. So maybe not enough rider specific program.

Another exemple would be RJ. It’s pretty clear to me that somebody should slow him down and get back to some basics, like riding with his elbows up. He is fast no doubt, but he rides so loose and all over the place, it’s always a matter of time before the next crash.

Finally, it seems that most of the top guy focus at least some part of their gym training on strenght and it doesn’t really seems to be the case at Aldon’s. I’m pretty sure that Plessinger would benefit from an extra pound or 2 of muscles on that 450. That’s my armchair expert opinion 😂
