As someone who helped Ty while we was a privateer in the 23 season, I can tell you this....
He has never had a full off season healthy to train for SX, never. The 24 off season was his first to train for SX. It was also his first on PC. He struggled in SMX with tip overs while running strong top 5's. Was even leading Vegas but refused to triple a section that really cost him.
As for East vs West for him. Ty is probably the best rut rider in the class, and East Region tracks are known for softer dirt.
He is one of the best starters. If he can get through the whoops clean, he should be a top 5 guy and even battling for a podium or two.
Doing whatever his boss asks him to do is a good move for Ty.
This. Ty has been a pro since 2019 and never had a top ten finish in Supercross. He’s only finished on the podium outdoors twice in 5 years. Mitch is his biggest supporter and giving him the opportunity to race for one of the best 250 teams in the pits. He needs to race where Mitch needs him to race. He can’t possibly be considered a championship contender in SX.
I hope he proves me wrong.
I think the biggest story is that Drew Adams is still not racing professional SX. The kid is obviously ready, what are they waiting for? He would've been perfect as the second PC rider on the West coast.

I think its just a budget thing and the fact mitch actually has a full healthyish team leading into A1 that stopped drew from racing. I agree on putting him on west with masterpool and marchbanks.
That looks like great progress in just 3 races, great point! That also does not account for him in a podium position until Vialle cleaned him out in the last race, which I may add is east/west combined, he is definitely going the right direction, thank you for sharing 👍
I just hope Mitch and Kawi put a little something extra in his paycheck to make it a little more digestible and to compensate for any potential missed bonus opportunities.
Ty stepped up to help out the team, simple as that. That said, I don't underestimate anybody's ability to have a breakout season. If it turns out he gets a few podiums and suddenly becomes one of the top riders, I bet Mitch will be kicking himself.
Let's also not forget that even 12th place pays a few bucks. Losing one out of the 9 opportunities for a Supercross paycheck is more than a 10% pay cut, statistically. I hope, like olds cool does, that PC gave him a little bonus to make up for it.
I understand it’s not exactly this simple, but its ridiculous that pro circuit has a rider ready and willing to race and they won’t let him on the track. I’m partially projecting because I just wanna see what Drew’s capable of but Kawi come on.
Edit: Just saw that there’s a new vital feature about exactly this and what’s going on, after work I’m watching while I cook supper
Exactly this. When it comes time for contract renewal negotiations, Ty's decision to be a team player should be a big factor that could net him more money in the long run.
Drew Adams would beat Ty Masterpool every SX race. Unless Ty has massively improved at SX over the off season he's not going to be a factor.
My thoughts and feelings aswell, although after the SMX final I do believe in Masterpool’s ability to improve in SX
Actually he will race the same number of rounds as if he was racing east.
I believe there are the same total number of races on each coast this year. I count 7 regional races for each coast and 3 Shootouts for a total of 10 races each.
So, Ty would be shorted one race with the change.
I’m not very good with numbers so I could be wrong.
Um, excuse me. There is already and has been, a motohead "Zip Ty", who I believe (may be wrong) won a 125 regional SX championship. Then tore up the offroad racing world for a while. A different nickname is needed. Other than that, I'm a Masterpool fan. His holeshot while pointing to his brother in the heavens is priceless!!! I hope he rocks this year.
Zip -Ty was the last guy to beat the King in a Supercross Series for a long time.
I stand corrected….on an 88 RM250 no less💪
Pit Row
From what Matthes said it is a budget issue. PC has money for 5 bikes and they have 5 more experienced riders still healthy. If history is any guide a bike will open up for Adams to ride after a couple of east rounds if not sooner.

And Ty did what all of us didnt want him to do.and that was wad himself up... fuck.
Broken fingers according to matthes.
So now the question is does Adams get to fill in now that there's an injury or does Ty plan to race the remaining rounds with broken fingers?
JT said on review pod that PC needs 2 guys to fulfill sponsor obligations so Adams should be in.
Just stumbled across this video from the floor of his crash. Ouch!
Ooof…. It’s been a far too familiar sight watching the PC guys hit the dirt hard these past few years..
I think the silver lining in racing West is that he can have time to heal up before the MX series and be ready for outdoors
