It will be awesome because Troy Lee is involved. Rear hub was green and will have a sick design for the weekend.

The bike will be well tested with a year in MXGP in 26 and they apparently wont start racing until the nationals in 27 in the US. With a few guest appearances from Caroli this year and the end of the nationals. With the desmo head the thing should rev to the moon and really suit Barcia.

Worked out pretty well for the Dunge on KTM. I know they weren't technically first gen KTMs....but their previous bikes we so bad that they kind of were first gen KTMs.

Dungey went to KTM because of his relationship with deCoster. Ducati - as of now - doean’t have someone with that relationship to Sexton.

I would buy a Ducati before a Triumph they have been making incredible engines for a long time.

Decent results in MXGP would go a long way to attract potential riders for next year in the US.

Has anyone heard any rumors on price? Last year I figured it would be $13-14k but the current market clearly would not support that.

My guess was $14,500

I have had a few Ducatis, currently have a Hyperstrada put about 25K miles on it, went all over the mountain west with it this past September/October with no issues.  I do the regular maintenance like fluids, valve adjustments, belts,.  I have gone through about 3 sets of fork seals, but that could be attributed to the riding I am doing with it.

Anyone notice the green hubs on the Duc?  Could this be indicative of a monster sponsor?  Thought it was weird there want a Red Bull logo on the hauler with RB and TLDs close relationship.

The green might be a nod to their Italian heritage, or maybe something to separate them from GasGas. There doesn't appear to be any energy drinks involved so hopefully Troy gets some creative latitude with the design. The Shell logo on the cab of the hauler looks very Ferrari-esque.

At 28 seconds you can see a number 51 on the tool box to the left of the bike, any insight as to if that's Barcia's or if that 51 has other significance?

My 2011 Multistrada has 41,000 miles and has had one mechanical: a broken shifter return spring.  Otherwise just tires, fluids, batteries.  It's an incredible bike.

It's Troy's GasGas rig, so it could simply be an old tool box or Justin will be reuniting with Troy and the TLD gang come 2026.

Possibly both.

He's in the last year of his contract, the KTM group isn't doing well financially, and he wants to continue racing.

I love that ducati is coming into the sport. My concern is how working-class families are going to view a ducati when deciding what bike to buy for their kid to ride. I feel like Ducati has an even more expensive ora about them compared to what's around now.

Maybe it will only be purchased by die hard Ducati vets.

They’re going after th vet guy with money, hence why they’re starting with the 450.  The retail is going to be around ~16k from what I’ve heard.

Triumph and Ducati both sell expensive bikes, their adventure flagships bikes are minimum $20k (Triumph 1200 Tiger starts at $22k, Ducati V4 Multistrada starts at $20k).

In general they're pretty well matched in price, if Triumph can sell their 450 at $11k I don't see why Ducati couldn't be close to that. Ducati multiple special editions, R models and so on at twice the standard MSRP are a given though 🤣

For any given product there are 3 positions in the market place, you can have the first product available, you can have the cheapest product available, or you can have the best product available.  Ducati will not be the first, nor will they be the cheapest, so they have to put out the best product of the class.  The best often costs a bit more, as we have seen with some of the 450s already eclipsing $14k, so I don't think $15k is going to be a hard sell if it indeed is the best.

If this is like street/track bikes, Ducati will make a great bike. Setting it up and maintaining it will be costly and a PIA.

Does anybody want more HP in a 450? So what will be better about their engine? Showa suspension (see Honda and Kawi). More reliable, easier to maintain??

They will sell them as a high end, prestige bike. I’m not yet convinced it will actually be better. But look forward to seeing what they offer.

Everyone on here thought Triumph would be priced as this boutique luxury bike, and they are cheaper than KTM.  Ducati can’t be too wild with their price or this will be a short lived experiment.

The color reminds me of the Ducati Streetfighter V4 Lamborghini Edition:

So,  they’ll just pull the truck around for a year and then race next year? Good to have a year of advertising, I guess.

I doubt they'll take it to every round.  Guess we'll find out.

Hopefully they bring it down to COTA in March for Ducati Island, I'd love to see it up close.
