I prob dropped $750 on for a family of 3 last year on tickets and food/drinks - not including the hotel. Seats were nothing spectacular. I think at this point the riders should form a union to get their piece..they are getting screwed

As a mechanic I have been to many SX races and never have had to pay anything. Only thing I know about pricing is what I read here.

$750 on a family of 3 is rape. How do they justify these ticket prices? I know food and drink in a stadium is also crazy.

Supply and demand for me is a crock of shit.

Someone is banking some good profit whilst the fans and riders who make it all happen are getting screwed.

They are looking for the edge of the price elasticity, same as infront and others do. When people stop buying tickets they know they over charged and they will drop the price a bit. A friend of mine worked at company that "Created" watches. They made deals with famous brands, made it look expensive, somewhere in a low wage country they made those. His job was to see how much people wanted to pay for a 7 euro watch... When the test people look at the stuff and all go +100 euro and under 220 euro. He knew how he could place it in the market. For ticket prices I don't know if they use test people, but it feels like they just test it "on the field".

Subscribe to Peacock and save 100's of $$$

Peacock and using the saved money from Anaheim SX tickets to take the kids to Angel games. Went to one this season and bought 4 tickets for under $50, 4 rows back from right field. Parking was also 1/3 of what it was for SX.

Angel games is Baseball right?

I've always loved baseball but sadly I never had the opportunity to go to a game.

That’s my position too. It would be $1000 for our family which may be a consideration if we had never been. I’m not sure if the ones on here saying no big deal are single ticket purchasers but count one moto family out.

Have never been to a US sx race, although I had industry tickets and a hotel booked for the 2020 Seattle race until all the unpleasantness happened. Seattle is/was the closest to me when I was living in Vancouver but now I'm further away so if I'm going to travel, may as well make it worthwhile. Was thinking indoors but Anaheim has always been on the bucket list, is it really worth it? A1 or A2. And out of curiosity, is there in-stadium commentary?

Before moto, I was a dodgers fan since before i could talk probably, it’s in the blood, from my moms side(except the few aunts, uncles or cousins that are angels fans). First time i stepped foot in angel stadium was a1 last year.

That's wild. With the promo code, I paid $50 total per ticket for lower bowl Detroit tickets. I mean it is Detroit so they struggle to get anyone to come in.

This is why they offer early ticket deals. $120 a ticket is nothing honestly. Maybe don't wait so long to purchase your tickets BRO....

Dam I remember going to cycle parts west and beach Yamaha as a child with my uncle to buy tickets in the late 90s early 2000s they would pull out the binder with the seating chart. Tickets where around 35-40. The good old days!

Does that price include bodyguards? 😉

Considering everything cost more in CA- yeah I would expect tickets to be higher. Dirt costs more, trucking costs more, fuel costs more, dozers cost more, ushers cost more….etc..etc.

Since you buy VPN for multiple years, still less than half of the international video pass price.

34 years on this earth and living in so cal, been to Angels stadium for SX at least once every year since I was 3 months old. This was the first time I have ever seen Angels stadium without a supercross track. It was weird, but really cool.

I really liked SX at Dodgers. Been there 5 times in my life, 3 times for games and 2 for SX. It’s much closer to me, but tickets for Angels are just so much cheaper 😂

Cheaper then what my friends were paying to go to concerts this summer, tickets were $150-$400 commonly, and a most of the time that was just for a GA ticket.

I don’t think the prices will effect sales at all.

None of that extra ticket money seems to be making it's way into the purse either...

I always sponsor the family. We'll be in the desert riding all day and watching out there. It's cheaper than attending in person.

"Family sport"  😆  "Should we buy the kids a Stacyc ?, new pedal bikes for all,  or go watch one race"....  hmmmmm......

I'm no economist, but my own personal theory is that sadly, there are enough people out there willing to pay stupid prices for entertainment tickets to support it.  This spans well beyond A1 and our little sport.

Generally, people are looser with their wallets than a generation or two ago, and credit is so easy to get.  And then there is the never ending need for content & selfies for social media.  People's finances are none of my business, but I see a lot of people burning money that they just don't have.

I'm not condemning anyone for spending a little disposable income to "make memories," but I think it's out of hand.

It'd be a pretty interesting study to know how many people are going to drop $500+ for them and family to go to A1 but don't have at least a couple months of expenses in a savings account.

People be living wild, good for them I guess 🤷‍♂️

I paid 165€ for Tool this year and those were the cheapest tickets available. Was it worth it? Yeah, but still absolutely ridiculous when you think about it. Linkin Park with their new world tour are also in that range I think.

I hope I get the opportunity to watch a SX race in the US some day. I would probably spend any kind of money lmao.

We skipped Washougal this year for the first time in a LONG time due to costs and access. Easy $150 a head day and 2+ hours to get in/out on top of it. Did Am Days a couple years ago and that was a $1000+ weekend. No thanks.

Yep. Monster jam. I haven't checked but I wonder what the tickets and parking fee is for that event
