Vital fans being unable to relate means that an entirely different crowd CAN relate….thats a good thing for moto.

No pro racers are growing the sport. If growing the sport means people sitting on the couch watching a motorcycle on a screen then yea.

Track owners and the people that support it are the only ones growing the sport

The crowd that wears that sort of stuff are never going to have any interest in moto. There more the people calling more moto tracks to be shut for malls

surprised there isn’t more coverage on it but hes dating, an actor and singer Dylan Conrique. Shes got 1.6 Million followers on insta and 4 Million on TikTok.

Hopefully she can do what Taylor Swift did to the NFL with SX (thats extremely wishful thinking though)

Ahh, the old 'growing the sport' discussion.

Can we get some clarity on what this means?

Does 'growing the sport' mean:

1. More people buying motocross bikes and competing in official competitions whether local, state, or national?

2. More attendees at live SX, MX and SMX events, and larger TV/streaming viewership numbers?

3. Both?

When Gypsy Ho bangs on about 'growing the sport' he seems to be referring exclusively to the second option and thinks this will happen through things like Jett wearing fashionable clothes, Haiden posting YouTube content, and the imaginary Netflix Drive to Survive show he keeps blowing.

Although I was just into MX, that Marty Smith guy was an inspiration.

Blonde, great physique and girls hanging off the fences. Oh and the Honda's looked awesome 👌.

OEMs are only in #2 to achieve #1.

Track availability and the cost of bikes and gear are what hold back #1.

I think #2. How many people that watch football 12hrs a week buy new footballs every year?  How many nascar/F1 fans take their sports cars to track days? Slim to none I’d say.  “Growing the sport” so that riders deep in the field can have lucrative careers means gaining a TV audience that’s willing to watch every weekend and attend events.  Not appealing to us diehard fans who already ride, they’ve got us.

Jett modeling fashionable clothes cast a wider net to catch people that would otherwise not have any interest in MX.

And to be completely honest MX riders aren’t the ones buying tons of new bikes. It’s the desert, GNCC, trail, woods, and recreational riders.

I heard she sang the national anthem at a supercross one year. I listened to some of her music a while ago and she has a very good voice.

No, I wouldn’t, not sure how that’s fashion, but to each their own.

Why is Jett going down the same weirdo path Lewis Hamilton went down? Weird, delusional styles. He’s going to be talking about carbon footprint next.

Yeah one of his 5 egos.  If your gonna model you gotta model better than that , come on man.  Take it from a Hotter than Zoo  lander former model. Your all loose and cool then you enter a room with a ton of people. That Bil of a sec you get tight . Reflect it and hit all out loose mode. Then you won’t get caught lookin at a part of a wall , you shouldn’t be.  Look above and beyond the camera . Like what is that ? Another group of chics ? And dump

The pants the design is confusing people.  Along with the shirt. Walmart spring collection is more eye catching . Hands try another expression plz. Never heard of that well you will if you become a top model. Lol

Funny how people seem to be focused on Jett only in the US. Maybe it’s the obsession with ‘celebrity’ rather than real stories? Seems to be the same with Deegan.

If by “growing the sport”, we’re referring in part to increased exposure in mainstream media, then Jett and Hunter are both doing that in Australia. I haven’t seen so many moto references on free to air tv since Reedy’s success overseas, or maybe going all the way to the halcyon Mr Motocross days in the 1980s.

But other than when Jett went 22-0, all the stories have been about both brothers, or the family as a whole. Not one has focused on popularity, personality or ‘fashion’.

I'm not that old though. I still have my baggy jeans in the cupboard waiting for them to come back into fashion, much to my wife's disgust

I doubt that the sport will grow much more in it’s current form.

It’s an old sport where the first GP were held in 1957 and the US nationals in 1972. So the sport have been around in a long time, and most of the random people know that it excists and what a dirtbike is.

So they know about it, but don’t care enough to watch it in it’s current form.

Then we have the FMX scene, guys like Travis actually grew the sport/usage of MX bikes and displayed it in a new form that were more pleasing to the average man.

When a random person hear that you ride MX they often mention Travis and think that FMX is MX, and  i was involved in Drifting for 10-15 years, building and importing JDM cars, and as soon as people heard the word drifting they started to talk abou Ken Block’s videos and belived that was drifting, but as a core drifter, nobody would call what he did was real drifting.

So my point is, that if a sport that is 70+ years old in it’s current form don’t draw more attention from the outside, it probably never will untill you change the format to something that the average joe want to see.
