Alaska to lands end-Chile

The planning is in the works with the help of some American peeps in Argentina (likely prerun it in a Raptor).

To make some decisions about the bucket list

Build up my endurance to go all mammoth "B" vet class at 7 laps. I'm done at 5 laps or less.

Will it be mostly a "ride" bucket list, or an "attend". Will I negotiate with the wife to spend a week or more away, or just tell her, or do less.

I did want to ride every Mammoth qualifier, now it's just the minimum. Pretty soon it will be I'll just take my chances at open signup.

Ride Southwick - need to find a place to rent a bike since I wouldn't drive it from the west coast or do a longer trip.

Ride Glen Helen  - Taking the CR500 up one of Glen Helen's hills 1x and then load up....

MXDN in Europe

I hope oneday I can afford another bike. Been about 2 years and I miss riding. Supporting a family in these high economic times is tough enough. My daughter has a stacyc and watching her ride is almost good enough! Maybe one day we can ride together!

I'd want to ride and hang out with some of my old moto heros at a private facility.

Attend MXdN.
Attend a GP- hopefully next year in Darwin.
See the Lawrence bros race in their prime. Will cross that one off next month in Melbourne.
Build a few more bikes from my riding days, in particular 1986 CR125, 1990 YZ250, 2000 YZ125 & 250.
Drink beer and enjoy the racing…..deliberately don’t check that box, so I get to do it again and again…..

So I’m turning 60 early next year.
1. Cape York trip planned with mates I’ve ridden with since I was a teenager.
2. Mxdn, in Europe, with a few Gp’s thrown in.
3. Trail ride through the desert in the USA. Open to suggestions on where.
4. Race a few rounds of Transmoto events in Oz.“Team old fart for the win”5. Get out and ride more often than I have.
It will always be Mxdn for us old blokes.

I really want to race the World Vets at Glen Helen.

Finishing Le Touquet is also on my list. Tried four years ago, but the bike blew up after two hours.

I'd like to ride on all of the available National MX tracks and to race on every GNCC course at least once.
I want to build a track that is dedicated to younger/pee wee riders so they don't have to worry about being blasted by someone on a 450.
I want to own a dealership and along those lines, I would like to own a business that is somewhat involved with motocross.
I want to start/own a race team.

Thanks man.  I'm hoping so too. His son (just recently turned 16) really could use his dad in his life..

16 is a crucial age, your grandson is very lucky that you are there to guide him. I lived with my grandparents while my parents were serving time for drug related issues. They got clean and I moved back in with them and life has been great since… there’s hope, hang in there.

One of my items in the bucket is to volunteer with team USA at the ISDE. I'm currently planning that for next year in Italy. My wife says she will find "something" to do for that week. Then we'll cruise around the Alps for another week.

Realistic:

Do some trail riding and off road races in Idaho/Colorado/Utah . . stuff like that.  Something besides the damn So Cal rocks! :D

I also really want to try a speedway or flat track bike. They look like a ton of fun.

Fantasy:

Do some riding in Europe, particularly through Croatia. Though that would admittedly be more dual sport and more about seeing more of Europe. Frigging love it over there.  Also New Zealand on one of Townly's tours. Man, that place looks beautiful!

Honestly, I would love to just be able to go and ride more than once a month.

I feel pretty satisfied with what I've done and seen on a motorcycle.

I'd like to race at Loretta Lynn's. I missed my best opportunity about 20 years ago when I was probably capable of qualifying in the 30+ class. Just didn't have the funds to consider it. Several dudes I used to race with at Glen Helen landed in the top-10 in the Vet B/C class, and one of them won it in 2008.

Probably going to move out to SoCal in my new Sprinter, stop at Fasthouse for the latest skinny guy gear sets, hire Ryno for some philosophy lessons, only ride at Glen Helen, maybe I won’t even hit the track but I will be a presence in the pits…..get some motor work done, I guess some dude named Terry is pretty legit…..start a 125 race team for the 2 stroke nationals at the Glen…..pick up Professional125 on the way there…IMG 6676 1.jpeg?VersionId=wEdKustsJh 9pNjcvaucR

I’d also go for starting a business that is successful enough that I could be a title sponsor to a team.

Always wanted to race Glen Helen World Vet. Not quite checked but leaving Wednesday I am signed up!

I know the West Coast riders are badass I hope for top ten.

One of my bucket list items is to do a stupid ride. What I mean by that is buying an old junker and doing the TAT or a portion of that. I'm talking something that will give me hardships and break down.

My suggestion for a bucket list for anyone that reads this that doesn't have pro level speed. GET INVOLVED!!!!! Just about the best thing I've ever done in my moto life is being a Supercross track worker. I have worked as a DigDug at Daytona and as a flagger at every Florida Feld round since 2019. Yes, the first priority is the actual job, but you are literally feet from the greatest riders in the world doing amazing things on dirty bikes.

Also being involved led me to being a member of Daytona Dirt Riders and helping to put on the legendary Alligator Enduro as well as having great friends and having thousands of acres to ride on. it also led me to running for Area Director for Volusia and Flagler counties in the Florida Trail Riders. Being involved in the day-to-day operations of a racing series is very satisfying and helps you understand the concerns of racers and promoting clubs.
