It's crazy we have one of the deepest fields for SX this year, and still missing Marv. I know Marv wasn't offered a contract and his wrist is probably still not 100%. What are his plans for next year?
Obviously he can still ride…. I can see him moving to the brand ambassador roll soon. I don’t think he’ll race a non factory bike and I don’t think there will be a factory ride open for him.
He'd be perfect for Stacyc.
I believe he is just a test guy at KTM now
He was offered a contract, he declined. I think he’s pretty happy with his plot in life.

I don’t think Marv & Mathilde need the money…at least they don’t to live the family life I believe they want. Marvin has been with KTM for freaking ever…so, if he’s was given a lowball contract offer, and he flipped them off…
…good for him. KTM needs Marvin more than Marvin needs KTM.
He could be incredibly valuable to any brand needing a top test rider. To have a rider that can still run the speeds of the current top riders would be a real asset to a manufacture developing their next gen bikes. He has the speed and seems like he has the right attitude/mentality for it.
Marvin has not told KTM to efff off. He is spending some time working with Daniel Blair on the amateur rider development. Marv is as good of a dude as you will find in the sport.
If he does any racing this year my guess, is it would be a fill in ride for one of the Austrian bikes in case of extended injury.
They didn’t lowball him, he didn’t want to ride. I think he enjoys training Vialle.
He doesn't work with Vialle anymore, as far as I know...
And he would have loved to ride.
I always find it strange when guys just stop racing without actually retiring. Give us some closure Marv.
You sure speculate a lot.
Yep. Stewart and Baggett were just kinda all the sudden gone. I mean they owe us nothing to be fair. I just find it odd.
I saw him today at the test track. He's the head shovel guy.
He did a track walk with some people earlier today.
Any update on Marv?
Retired.
At least that’s what Kellen or Lewis(I think it was one of them) said on the pulp show last week.
Said he likes the transfer shovel more then the digging shovel as he can smooth things out easier. He’s interested in testing the fiberglass model for its flex characteristics and reduced weight.
Pit Row
It would be rad to see Marvin put the 250 he’s been riding in a main event this year.
I think a triple crown would be good. I’m thinking he could get a fast lap in for qualifying and be in 3 “mains.” It’d be good for everyone.
I thought he said he was never offered a rider for this year?
Man do I miss prime MM25, he was one of very few who could keep up with Beastmode ET3 on an MX track and it was a blast to watch!
Someone mentioned on Pulp he was offered a contract and turned it down, and doesn't miss the grind of professional racing at the moment.
Good to hear that my hypothesis about Marv was wrong. He is a good dude, and I've always been a big fan. I hope he stays in the sport in some form and function.
his instagram and facebook say hes racing ironman gncc this weekend
He’s racing the industry class for fun with RV and Phil.
Imagine if the whoops would've been the standarized 9 whoops during Marvins peak. I think he would've managed to get one 450 SX title.
Yeah, he's the man for a pussyfied track.
Why do the French show disdain for riders that make it here? Marv would dominate the most technical and tore up circuits.
Just ignore that clown
Marv races the premix class 125-150,s at the Canadian nationals now. He raced at Walton a east west race. Could you imagine being there with your family spectating. And see #25 he looked stylish as usual on the 150. I,m sure he’s not aware that the Walton area . Was Oneida Indian territory for 20k yrs from Ny. Now westside of Green Bay. They spoke Iroquoin a early kinda French language. Check the video out it’s a great race. I bet that was a warm up race for GH vet race.
