at this point he just needs to complete a full season and stay healthy. itll be a building year imo as some would say. does he still have title speed? will he be a 3-5 guy now? anyone know how much seat time he has on the triumph? itll be interesting how it plays out

Have you ever seen Forkner ride? I don't think 3-5 is in his vocabulary. He is a win it or bin it guy through and through. I really think he will gel with the Triumph and if he races East Coast I have him as my favorite. Don't forget he was the last guy to go toe to toe and give a healthy Jett all he could handle.

Always crazy to see the two career trajectory’s. Forkner was hauling ass that year before getting injured. Always makes you wonder what would have happened to some of the guys that could have stayed healthy (canard) comes to mind

If he could not get the job done on Pro Circuit which is arguebly the best 250 team ever, why would anyone think he will do better on a 2nd year bike and team like Triump?🤔

He just needs to survive a season, if he does, then we can start talking about a title.

With Austin we talk about a title every year he races.

All you guys that cry and hate on Forkner would of hung the boots up for life if you had a crash half as bad as his last 3 big ones.

Dude comes back year after year to give it his all.

He’ll always have my respect.

Of course we should.  New bike, sure that's a wait and see.

Thus far he's had a knack for keeping that race winning speed after an injury.

This is a fair question. My answer is it’s possible the change of scenery could be beneficial and there’s less pressure to perform at Triumph… maybe 🤔

Yes but the bottom line is he MUST preform this time because he aint getting any younger so maybe he will get it together, just hope Triump can give him the bike and support he needs to win

His statistics are there. Call it bad luck, WTF moments someone else's mistakes, the fact remains he can't finish a season. Will be fun watching him race regardless on how he performs.

I'm still rooting for his success. He is blazing fast and can still be part of the story.

Earned my respect these last couple years by just continually showing back up, no matter the size of the accident. Guy is literally the definition of fall down 7 times, get back up 8. The vlog from Washougal 2023 was moving.

I 100% believe East Coast SX was his this year if he didn't throw it away. Fast and composed as ever, led almost every single lap before crashing? Could have been an epic rivalry/war of words with Deegan too.

Wishing him all the best with the move and 2025 season.

I wonder how much more Triumph paid him over Kawasaki.

You think it’s the bike that’s the problem 😂

That is different from any other year how? Racers are paid to perform.  Here is the bottom line, Bobby Hewitt and Triumph clearly see something they like in Austin.  What is that? Speed, drive, potential, you name it. Austin is has been forced to mature in a different manner than say Jett.  Get off the high horse.

Here is a really good video about Austin's background and his struggles. It's unreal how many injuries and personal struggles the guy has had. He's like Pastrana.

It's not just the bike. He needs to work on his judgment. But the team has been so injury-plagued, it's pretty easy to draw an inference

I don’t think your understanding exactly what’s been keeping him out. Recently it hasn’t been overriding.

2022 he looked in control and even had the ‘complete’ the whole season mindset. Then an out of control Jettson jumps from one side of the track to the other, taking him out. Definitely not Austin’s fault.

2023, is just shit luck. You could re run that start 50 times and you’d have a different outcome every single time. Maybe he could’ve lifted but at those speeds, there isn’t a way he could’ve known that something even remotely close to getting launched 30 feet down the straight was on the cards.

2024, is another case of shit luck. Losing a contact while leading a very rutted Supercross race. His biggest mistake was pushing with that. In hindsight he should’ve settled for 2nd and lived to fight another day.

Agreed. Self-inflicted crashes all but the 1 crash with Jett.

Meh....as long as he comes out and shows the ability to go race winning speed he'll be set for another 5ish years of Factory Contracts.

Plenty of examples of guys who constantly crash themselves outta contention getting signed again and again by factory teams.  Austin is going to be teammates with one of them this year.

He has value because he can win races and will win more so he will always get a ride.

PC hasn't been the best 250 team in at least ten years.  Their last period of winning consistently was in the 000s.

I think he would have taken a pay cut if anything.

Hey turd voters, how about putting together a counter argument?  If you disagree with the statement please tell us why?

These stats you just posted are hardly helping your case mate.  One regional SX title and one outdoor title in ten years?
