Prado was faster most races this year. He led more laps, won more races, won more overalls. TG was a little better on the sat qualiications and way better at the mud races. Looked like Jett pulled back out the lead the last lap and thought he had it. Left the door open not thinking gajser was that close, kinda off the gas with two turns to go.
TG put in a last 4 turn deegan style charge and caught him off guard. Killer pass.
Hell of a ride by Tim, he will remember that for life. Its a shame Jett didn't have a full motocross season under his belt, he hasn't raced outdoors since June, so still a massive result from the kid.
I can’t believe he’s 28, I swear he’s been around forever
It was a bloody good battle , but don't forget Jett did back to back motos while Gajser had a rest in between motos...either way was bloody good to see

I was somewhat jaw dropped at Jett's pass on him a few laps earlier and the line he pulled. Until Tim had his "hold my beer" moment. Unreal. Awesome to watch.
Gajser has a bad record of riding over his head and eating it so it would make sense for him to be a little smarter. Also people need to remember he beat Jett at the end of Jett’s second straight moto with no break. Let’s be honest across a season Jett mops the floor with Gajser.
This is motocross. First guy to the finish line wins and was the fastest for the moto. No excuses. Gajser was the FMOTP for the third moto no ifs, and’s or but’s. It really is that simple.
Gajser beat the guy who finished 2nd and 3rd in the Nationals, the rider with the 2nd most wins in AMA history and someone who could go on to become the GOAT. Let's be honest, Gajser is a bad dude. And the most underrated five time world champ.
Is it that simple?
Mate don't try to rationalize, they need this to cope.
Jett pulled out 3 to 5 seconds and then it looked like he was on a regular Saturday afternoon cruise, managing an AMA race. Idk… I don’t feel like I watched Jett riding under pressure until the moment Gajsar passed him; After that, there was only one or two turns left.
On another note, I wonder how far away their gate pics were for that Moto.
Nobodies taking anything away from gajser yeah he’s bad ass fast. People are talking a massive amount of shit and acting like he smoked Jett. The fact of the matter is doesn’t beat Jett if Jett didn’t have to do back to back motos on a gnarly ass track. Dont think you guys realize how insane that is
TIGA meant business today, came in to crush, and he did some fucking crushin'.
Jett said in the post-race interview that he got Gajser on the last lap last year, and that this was payback.
He crossed the finish line in first, as far as I know, he won the damn race and yes, smoked Jett.
Awesome lol. Awesome race, congrats tiga, congrats australia! Congrats usa too on the 2nd place.
smoked??? 4/10 of a second................LMFAO
There's nearly an hour between the 2nd moto finishing and the 3rd starting. I've never known another MXoN where people have made such a meal out of it.
Pit Row
It is quite simple to read, unless you're mentally handicapped. If so, I apologize.
Amazing last moto but folks are making a meal out of a last turn block pass. Jett took second gate choice and was in 11th early in the race and proceeded to pass everyone after back to back Motos and still passed TG on TG's favorite track and led until the last turn. TG went for the supercross block pass and almost took him out. If that move would have cost AUS the MXON people would have been pissed. I applaud his tenacity but don't believe for one second he is faster than Jett. What's the chance Geyser could come from 11th to 1st and beat Jett who was up front since the start of the race? Not happening. Jett is the FMOTP
he did not smoke Jett at all , Jett caught & passed him from ways back , he latched on & made a clutch pass on the last lap with a corner to go where it came down to a couple tenths or so to the line , thts not the definition of smoking somebody, the definition of smoking someone is wht Eli did to my boii dunge 2015 hangtown
Yea ppl are def over reacting by saying he got smoked. You cant win EVERY race, though jett comes damn close. Ppl lose races sometimes even mcgrath, james, rc,rv… it happens. He just barely got beat at the last second after coming from 12th to first. That being said MASSIVE hats off to gajser hes a freaking beast and made an awesome charge at the end and was riding like an animal those last few laps. Him and jett were on another level there at the end. That race will be remembered forever thats for sure and I’m glad tim gets his shine because even though hes 5 time world champ he still has always been seen as second class to either cairolli, herlings, or prado for whatever reason. He just baaaarely lost this mxgp championship to prado at the last round, hes legit. Hopefully after this race ppl start to look at those 5 championships a bit differently and see he can be the fmotp at times and can run with anybody on a given day.
Jett said it with a smile on his face, he likes competition.
Some of you goofs are approaching Deegan-fan levels with the excuses. Jett didn't lose to a backmarker, TiGa is a fucking 5 time world champ. Sometimes it's the other guys day, plain and simple.
As they say, your only as good as your last win.
That's Team Australia, and Tigga.
In that cold weather with 40 minutes of break after a Moto that he just had to cruise in for 30 minutes? If anything racing back to back motos benefited Jett for knowing the track conditions.
🙄 yeah OK guy.
Plenty of video footage of Jett nearly crashing a few times, and TiGa only had the opportunity for the block pass because of those mistakes. Credit to Jett, he was managing the lead even with those mistakes. I think he had no idea TiGa was so close or he would have ridden differently. Not a “Sunday cruise” although I agree he was managing the race. He had more speed when he needed it, was just too late two corners before the finish.
If you want to be honest, then it's fair to say that you cannot say that with certainty. There are just too much variables over the season to decide who would win, but one thing is certain - no one would wipe the floor with Gajser.
As for riding over his head, yes, his 20-21 seasons were like that, but he won championships riding like that... though, he is nowhere near now to be called risky.
If Tim had been caught and passed on the last lap (after Jett carved through everyone else) and literally with 2 turns to go dived it in there for one last desperate attempt, then I could understand people concluding Jett was the best today. But that's not whatt happened. Jett caught and passed Tim but then Tim did one of the most difficult things a rider can do (against Jett no less), that being; adapt to his speed and keep him in check many laps before the end of the race - hence why he was there at the end (this point was also noted by Paul and JT in the commentary booth too). That's impressive!
I think Jett is probably faster overall, and probably the fastest rider in the world (certainly the most complete in terms of skill set) - I don't disagree with that. But on Sunday at least Tim was every bit as good.
