Craig's deal is more about blowing Haiden and Brian than anything else. When Haiden and Brian want to be blown Star makes it happen.

It's been reported that a large part of Craig's deal is to support Haiden with training etc...and that the Deegan's like having him around. If you think the deal is because of Craig's riding you're deluded.

"The Californian put ink to paper for a two-year deal to race the YZ450F and help the team with the development of their 250 riders."
From Coker (who is Craig's half-brother by the way - continuing Craig's family connections to the teams he joins): "We also look forward to having him back around the young talent that we have on our team to bring his experience and help us develop those younger riders."

Never mind his past success on the team (both 250 and 450) and his talents of developing a motorcycle for teams...or his good standing relationship with Yamaha (support rider many years ago + STAR) or his ability to still place well in the 450 class (both indoors and out). Dude had basically 1/2 the muscle in his arm and 70% movement for outdoor and still did well in the grand scheme of things. Agreed that the Deegan's want him around...because he brings value to a team.

Pulling for your kid, my daughter has one of his hoodies, and he was my pick to win the east last year, and whatever coast he races this year.
He raced EMX250 in the GPs this year. Not sure if that's considered a pro class or if it's more like Futures and Moto Combine, though.
I thought I seen or read possibly Phoenix Honda which would be good for him, I see no reason why he won't go pro if the opportunity is there.
All of your points are somewhat valid, but it is my opinion the deciding factor in his being signed is the Deegans. I disagree that his race results would justify a contract for two years to ride a 450 for Star. Craig's career has been patchy at best - except for the year he won the 250 regional SX championship. He was great that year.
Club has an open spot they’re trying to fill. I believe he’s said he wants to be at A1 next year.
Rode his 2-stroke last Wednesday. Felt really good! Probably won’t be with ryno as he will move to Georgia. His gear will be the same as the rest of the team! Thank you for being a supporter of his!!!

The part about the Deegan's wanting Christian involved in their program via being signed to Star has been reported. The part about this being the deciding factor is my opinion.

anyone know whats taking so long for things to be announced? Usually in the 1st week of October, its hard to keep up with things as things are getting announced left and right.

ML, just so you are aware, we have been developing and riding the Ducati 450 since 1971. This unit has been heavily modified, tested, and raced for several decades gone by. Many times we have even finished a moto and typically manage to complete both motos. Although I am looking forward to my first podium....The biggest challenge is post race and reloading the weapon with out use of a crane. Always a risk.
Some key features of the RT 450 are Desmo Head, LH mounted kickstarter (KR94 will have to adapt), decompression lever, Fiberglass bodywork (Tank, Mud Guards, Side panels), Massive 35 MM front forks with about 6" of travel, Mine has the auto load level feature pre-installed (They leak profusely!). Four way adjustable position rear shocks (adaptive to SX or MX), Akront Mud Catcher rims (Each lap they get fuller and fuller, there by removing all the bumps!). Steering damper, Oversized filler cap and rider seating pad (to accommodate the current pilot's physique).
If you would like to test it, I might be able to set something up. Will need a signed liability release, notarized. Copy of valid insurance policy. Verification of burial policy as well.
