Probably the RMX motor and a bit of internet trolling.

Though upon a closer look, it doesn’t look exactly like the rmx engine…

They have been testing it for a long time but hadn't previously been able to get it to where they are happy with it.  Maybe they finally got it dialed in to their liking.

It’s electric start, not valving stacks. What took so long to figure out?

Ask Larry Brooks, they had issues while developing it and didn't feel comfortable implementing it into their race bikes yet.  If they figured it out I'm sure someone will interview him and he'll explain the challenges they had with it.

From a Yamaha guy, I just have to say how impressed I am that it started so quick 🤣

They had to get the right feel, you know. Like, the button has to have the correct spring return or the whole bike is ruined.

Nope, not that simple as just bolting it on like some of you here think.

Not if it doesn’t require altering the engine cases. I would imagine that is what took a while.

Was there not a company in California converting these motors to e start a few years a go ? I thought I read where HEP was working one but the vibration was what was holding it up.

Then why don’t you tell us? You always come in acting like you have some insider info and follow the same script of acting like you’re holding back nuclear launch codes.

Don’t start! Next thing you know the same guys drilling 1mm holes in their engine braces will start thinking their stock E-Start button is something holding them back!

Common sense would tell me that if you added E-start with a battery, you would also have to find a way to then shave those extra lbs you added back off the bike...

Whoa now...  I had to do the anodized blue with the titanium flat wound spring, nothing else felt right.

As long as he brings his foot up to the bars and hits the button that way he can keep the nickname.

Precisely because of responses like this in this thread and the Keefer CRF450 thread where I was said to be "bragging" for having a conversation  with a rider.  There are no secrets here, I said they have been testing it for a while but hadn't gotten it to a place where they would incorporate it in their race bikes yet, nothing more.

Bunch of kooks making stupid jokes, continue on girls.

I wonder how much weight it adds, clearly they think the juice is worth the squeeze.

I think a kit is around like 6-8 lbs, not 100% sure though.

...dude, you know very well that 95 percent of the members here are just dumb as a box of rocks, or kids living in their mom's basement.

Where do you think the phrase "Vitard" comes from?

through hard work and the love of Moto, I have a good relationship with a few people at the top of this sport - when I post something I know or hear, all I get is snarky comments, but most of the haters are fucking morons anyway, so who cares?

Don't let the idiots get to you, keep doing what you are doing...

I'm so amazed to see an official Zook take such a giant technological leap, introducing a revolutionary device that was available on the 1991 560 ATK and came stock on the 1995 600 Husaberg.

😂

Definitely the RMX engine. See the coolant overflow bottle in the front?

So is it as simple as bolting it on or are there more secrets involved behind the scenes? You’re alluding to both. What did your “source” tell you after you got out of the autograph line at the HEP Truck?
