I do not think that hiring Forkner would be a smart move for Triumph

Who else was available when they selected Savatgy, Ferry, and Swoll?

Are you aware of the terms of the deal? Injury clause of some sort is a reasonable possibility.

How much you willing to put down?

I got a crisp $20 for you saying Adams beats Forkner in points acquired in 2025 SX

Why do they have to have another guy...especially when they will most likely end up feeling as though they don't... because he'll be hurt...

There’s a part of me that wants to see Austin “Capture the Flag” for the Paytons…

But, if he gets an amazing offer from Bobby…AND if he likes the bike?

More power to him.

All the while…as a dude that goes by “TeamGreen”…I’m all about ProCircuit Monster Kawasaki Kicking Ass in 2025 and I’d be extremely stoked if Austin was a part of it.

I’m jus’ saying’…

I hope its true. If he's not going to retire (I think he should), he needs to at least change teams. New scenery is always good when coming off a slump. Unfortunately his "slump" has lasted since he became pro. Triumph can take him and he can be their problem. Kawasaki and Mitch have done enough catering to him.

There’s no reason for him to retire.

I think it makes sense and I’d like to see the bike become more reliable in 2025 (in race form I’m sure the stock bike is fine).

I don't care what bike he is on, but hope he can stay healthy and race the whole SX and Outdoor seasons.  If he has a chance to stay on PC, that needs to happen.  He "owes" Kawi the results he is capable of IMO.

He does owe them, in the way of winning when he comes back from an injury.

I guess I should clarify. My disapproval of the Forkner signing would be the extreme dollar amount they’re offering. I’d have no issue if Austin was making the same or less to go to Triumph. I don’t see why they’d go so above and beyond to secure a rider that eats shit for a living.

The Smith signing makes some amount of sense. He’s at least a solid top 5 guy in 250SX all things considered. Savatgy on a 250 I was and still am 100% out on, and his results during outdoors have certainly proven me right.

If it were me, I’d be throwing that big money at Drew Adams to go pro on Triumph. He’s the real deal, and I’d put money down he finishes ahead of Forkner in points next season.

Why are you concerned with the amount of another man's contract? Are they paying him with your money?

Drew is a great signing for an established team. Like 99% of the guys out there he will show rookie flashes in 25, win races and contend in 26 and in 27 he will be championship ready. Austin is the favorite or if he is on the same coast as Deegs be 1b in the first race of the season. But maybe you know more than the morons running Triumph........... Oh wait, it's a who's who of moto success running that team. Nevermind.

And the real reason you don't like him rears its ugly head. Pretty weak minded of you to hate a racer because you hate his politics. I think we are dealing with a case of FDS (Forkner Derangement Syndrome).  I like listening to Steve Matthes and I couldn't be further away from him politically. See what I did there? I'm an adult and I don't judge a person's entire worth on their political beliefs.

You are lost… These are not reasons I don’t like him. I have nothing against him personally. I’m saying these are reasons why they defend him so hard around here.

what was Cooksey talking about when he said something will come out in a couple weeks, personal to Forkner, that influenced this Triumph move?

As long as Austin can win races and get on tv, he will make a fantastic living racing motorcycles, and deservedly so.

I’m a fan of Triumph and want them to succeed. This signing seems like it’s coming from the same team place as the Ferry and Savatgy signings, and it screams “let’s light $250k on fire.” I’d rather them put that money into the team than waste it on a dude sitting at home.

Would it be a smart move? It's more a gamble knowing his track record of injuries... even though I would really love to see him turning it around and finish a season, with or without race/championship wins. For the guys that really think Triumph is making a big mistake, what alternatives do they have right now if they want to sign a rider capable of winning?

Swoll improved a lot with consistency, but he doesn't have the speed to win races (yet). Last thing I've read is that Smith is signed, but he has a long history of crashing a lot in situations of pressure as well.. and I'm saying this as someone that loves to see him ride. So, who is a free agent capable of winning in the 250s?

If Austin is not back with PC, I personally would like to see Austin end up on ClubMx.  They have a competitive bike and I think Austin has it in him to win. Farm boys are tough.
