Agreed. I hope he gets his personal affairs in order and comes back to race with a renewed competitive spirit. If not, I at least hope he gets his family situation squared away for the sake of his wife and child.

My brother cased a jump and broke his talus, and it was bad news. Because the talus doesn’t have a lot of blood flow, it took so long to heal, and the bone became porous. After multiple surgeries, he eventually had to have his ankle fused and only had 15% range of motion. He rarely used his rear brake after that. I’m certain Jett has the best-of-the-best surgeons and doctors, so hopefully no long term issues. I don’t know if any other riders have suffered this injury.

Ugh… the talus. It’s a low blood flow area, and it might take longer to heal. Jett’s healed quickly before, so let’s hope that’s the case this time.

Taken in isolation, his confidence can be admired, or at least understood. When in context of a team working together to achieve a goal, and then making statements implying the team is the reason for failure, it becomes unbridled arrogance. If he finds himself in any position other than winning he may well begin another spiral down. He has to race a production based bike now, there are limits as to what the team can do. One positive for Sexton joining Kawasaki is all of the work they’ve done this season trying to make Prado happy. They now have a variety of engine packages and suspension set-ups for him to try. Kawasaki is typically a data driven team, but they obviously had to work and think outside-the-box. I think this year will benefit Sexton (and Marchbanks?) in 2026.

Absolutely not. I have way more respect for the MXGP riders than most of the US media. I get that there are variables and not everything goes the way they planned, but I think 'riders not interested in going' is your key point. If there is any roadblock to the best three representing the US that is an issue, and there have been rumblings from some teams that RD is that road block. I grew up just as RD gave up full-time racing, and he's a legend. However, as a fan of MX (and nation neutral), I want the MXDN...

Rider injuries, riders not interested in going, etc. play a part in the results, not to mention the awesome (not) ping pong ball, luck of the draw, gate picks. You’re not giving the Euro riders credit for being good at moto, especially on their home turf. Even Jett Lawrence got beat by Gajser last year. Should Team USA be undefeated??

25 out of 36 wins, 21 MXoN and 4 Trophee des Nations, seems like a good winning formula to me. You have different riders and different team personnel to deal with every single year, so he had something working right to get the program to gel together. How many wins have the other teams had over the same period of time? Seems like DeCoster’s formula worked just fine.

So… Prado’s Kawasaki is so bad, he’s 11 seconds a lap off of Jett’s best in moto 2, and 10 seconds a lap off of Sexton’s best time in moto 2. Mitchell Harrison, on his privateer Kawasaki finished 11th, almost a minute ahead of Prado who finished 19th. Even Max Miller on his Kawasaki finished 17th. I like Prado, but he needs to go back to MXGP. The effort he’s showing, along with his interviews, which are a PR nightmare, is not fair to Kawasaki. Just my 2 cents.

Wow Awesome bike how did ya score a factory 125 ? I wanted 1 in 2000,01 the price was real high . Probably from watching the vhs tapes of Chiodi . I ended up buying a rm.
