The canopies are insane, completely ruins viewing. Last year I had people get mad at me because I walked in front of them to stand at the fence.

5 deep ? I watched a part of the vid of the guy that got black listed . Most of it was because of steel city . He showed fights which is stupid , no body wants to c that.  He showed some racing huge area  of a hill was 800 people deep that couldn’t see anything.  And what r u going to c. 1 guy in the 250 class running away with every race. 450,s hv 2 guys Everyone is happy that Chase is doing Great and controlling the championship. But I can see Chase ride at Sunset Ridge or Mendota tracks for 10 bucks at the gate .  And here him interviewed by a guy that holds races every week at Mendota at least . Chase saying I 1st raced here on a 50 or 85 my dad sister and I in a pu truck , more genuine than a natl interview by a contacted person that is there to further there career. Both tracks hv pro ams in September. I,m sure Chase will b there like usual unless he’s contracted to race somewhere.

My 12-year-old son and I made the trek from South Carolina to Budds Creek this weekend. Did as much research as possible regarding the best way to experience Budds. We stayed in a small, rustic cabin an hour away from the track. We got there early. We set up our spot (blanket and blue tarp in case of rain). Did we run into a few inconsiderate folks during the day? Yep. It is what it is. That’s life.  But we were mostly surrounded by great people that love moto as much as we do. Overall, it was a GREAT trip. Many memories were made. Did it costs a bit more that in the past? Again, yes, but that won’t matter in 20 years when my son says “I was there when Deegan won his first MX championship, I got to see my guy Sexton win again…and I got sprayed with champagne by AP”. Know how I know he’ll remember? Because I remember my dad taking me to Unadilla for Hannah’s last race…and I’ll never forget it.IMG 7634 0.jpeg?VersionId=5U H4qOgDK8edAPKyRUOIMG 7664 0IMG 7650 0.jpeg?VersionId=knicaiHObkP74562071812 6662DFF2-C8CC-4954-AB6D-18947274D1D0IMG 7630 0.jpeg?VersionId=pb .

How much has the dollar depreciated (inflation) in the last 4 years?

About 22%.

Not sure what that has to do with not understanding the difference between 65 to 138. And 364 to 421 is more then just the numerical value.

Many have been priced out of sports, entertainment, and recreational activities like snow sports. Suspect once in a blue moon for the average Joe with a family. Not that they can’t afford it, but how do you justify it? @rshelbygt nailed it with his experience.

Bigger problem for MX Sports is they are competing with the broadcast… gonna have to continually improve the in person experience to keep attendance up.

Go to an MLB or an NFL game and see how much you spend. Better yet go to a concert with decent seats.

Cubs vs cards at wrigley 2 tickets sect 12 last row 1st 2 seats, food drinks and pre gaming drinks an brunch. Was still under 270.

Got 3 concerts over the summer at large venues. Not one will i spend over 240 with food drinks and parking and their not GA seating like the races.

Spent more then that at red bud and we cooked out own food.

The issue is just like with buying bikes in this sport now a days. Kids can't do like i did and friends did. Afford a bike on their own or to go to the races without mommy and daddys help. I made 17.00 as a soph in high school and could afford to go race, my bikes and had enough to left over to go out with friends or parts when needed. You cant do that on 17 an hour now.

In June, I bought 5 tickets to watch the San Diego Padres through the Gametime app (a ticket reseller) at only $14/ticket after taxes and fees added in. It was for seats in the upper deck, which we preferred for the downtown SD view, but I was surprised at how cheap the tickets were on there.

Overall, pricing does seem to be hitting insane levels for live entertainment. It doesn't seem to deter massive crowds from going to the races, but I wonder what would happen if the prices were so high that it affected ticket sales that enough people chose to tune in through Peacock. It would be interesting to know if MX Sports guarantees a minimum amount of tickets to the independent track owners and will cover if it were to fall below it in attendance.

Been going to local races and nationals for close to 20 years, the crowds at nationals are generally fucking obnoxious to me now. Inconsiderate assholes everywhere. Canopies lining the fence, people throwing their trash all over the crowd nowhere near trash bins, getting ear fucked by the train horns and chainsaws, kids going 30mph on their electric hoverboards or whatever the fuck they are and surrons.

Woke up sunday morning at redbud to the whole line of shitters near us tipped over and blown to fuck with fireworks. I love this sport but jesus christ I hate the stupid fucks it attracts.

With tariffs, your new MX bike will be double including all the fees to subsidize the expensive charging stations. 2 years ago joe passed a 2.4 trillion bill with several billion went towards more charging stations. 8 of these shovel ready stations are up and going. He promised 10,000 stations in 5 years. They better hurry up.

Last national I went to it was 25$ cash. Carmichael was on a 125. Last endurocross in town here was 2019,, 35$ and 5$ for parking.

I've been to A2, Fox Raceway & Millville this year. I've watched the full broadcast every single time afterwards. $7.99 Peacock subscription/Couch/$12-12pack in the fridge beat ticket prices, $60 parking (A2), heat, humidity and seeing a fraction of the track/race. Yeah, it's fun to see people I've known for decades but not worth the cons of attending...

Sports is heading to a weird place, and not just moto.  Going to an event is a hassle and expensive, and the TV coverage of most sports makes for a much better experience.  Eventually, these sports might find it difficult to get people to come to the events.  And we saw during covid that sporting events without crowds sucks.

I fully expect the cost of these things to come down over the next few years as people just quit paying the high prices.

Canopies lining the fence are a problem at multiple tracks we have been to as well.

We use umbrellas for shade and when the racing starts we put them down to respect everyone's view.

I’ve been going to Hangtown my son since he was 12 - everyone. Now 31 and living in the Midwest I get it on his calendar when the race schedule comes out. Yeah, more expensive but really compared to the value? Even before then I was in the finish line corner yelling at Alessi to “get up” when Langston cleaned him out. You don’t get that on the couch in front of a screen. You may not get that experience even going to the race but you sure as hell won’t get it if you aren’t there.

I did extra like everything on the site, including job site foreman, Buisness agent with all the unions, weekly payments to organized crime , etc. 94 main line pipeline rate was 78.00 for a mechanic the 1st 8 hrs the 1.5 after. I didn’t get that & my pay fluctuated I was quite a bit below 78. But average of  2,397- 2,797 higher weeks upto 4,997 plus bonuses on sum projects of 28,000 paid for 1 month or 6 weeks of work.  And we could claim our days gone working unlike today. Pals that traveled doing airport concrete work did ok to. And had a blast traveling the 90,s was fun. I should’ve been  350k a yr if I got my union money. Taxes took 60+ % of the checks.  My 1st union was the iebw Boston to n of nyc rail plow with a train. The union said you hv to join our union the foreman’s threatened them. So that night the iiebw & thd mob power sawed hydraulic hoses , smashed windows, etc on ovr 2,500 pieces of hvy equipment.  The next night literally in the dark of night we signed union cards on a hood of a car. A huge mob guy says to me , you gonna sign the card kid ? I just nodded my head not to sound like a pussy.  Totally different times then . Some that happens in the me yet but not much. At all. So every makes crap then gets out of it and drives truck . .59 for a hostess Apple pie in 95 , at a ts 5.89 in Tn. Now.  18-24 for a sandwich in the ne.  And wages r in the dumpster.  Next yr 70% of the trucking co.s r gone.  And 3 million drivers . So your going to see freight sky rocket. Now co.s make nothing on a ld , actually since Feb of 2021. Americans didn’t care about truckers during c19 we starved and didn’t get the big hand outs you did & since Feb 2021. So it’s 27.99 for a box of cereal's time for Americans .

Yea dude i tried to read the first sentence and I gotta be honest I don’t give a fuck.

Lol, I was at Hangtown that year, at that same corner, shaking my head at those two.

My family and I used to do the national every year at BuddsCreek since Travis was on an 80 with that stuffed animal tied to the back of his chest protector, to when Stanton, Wardy, & Bayle were on 500's.  Thursday through to Sunday.

This weekend, my son, and grandson.....2 adult pit passes, one childs pit pass, and camping in our 2 man tent.....515.00 dollars.  And that was at the gate, not online, so I at least avoided online gees and taxes.  515 bucks.  Insane.

No more.  You can keep it.

Ha! I remember getting lapped by Travis and that Wile.E Coyote stuffed animal strapped to the back of his chest protector while we were getting ready to crest over Henry hill at Budds. I just heard his 80 screaming behind me hearing him yell “watch out!” Then he was gone, just like that.

Budds was the 1st outdoor national I have attended in a few years and I have to agree that Ez ups are a problem for being able to see/watch the races for the rest of the spectators.

Didn't they not allow them along the fences in CA races?

When it started raining in the morning a bunch of us just inside the sign up building pit tunnel went under an empty ezup and when the family returned we chatted and when it stopped raining we all thanked them and went off on our merry way.
