It is worth listening to a man with a voice who people hate for seemingly no reason, seems to me some of the things Cooksey has to say are correct and the mainstream hates him for it. Doesn’t take a genius to see that there is some validity to his claims based on the way he is treated.

He also seems to be the person that is saying people dislike him. The loudest voice spreading the dislike of him is he himself.

This is 100% true, but also the actions of the people he speaks out against are telling. I don’t have an opinion either way, just stating that I don’t believe either side is innocent of transgressions against this sport.

So you are fine with him saying Josh Demuth killed himself when he didn't?

Cooksey said he didnt know what happened, but imagined that it went down something like Swink did, implying it could have been suicide.

He shouldn't have speculated, but he did not say he killed himself. Big difference bewteen saying that and stating that he didn't know what happened.

Some people are letting their feelings about Cooksey cloud their judgment of the fundamental  issue here, which is an independent journalist being blacklisted and targeted.

Having said that, I don't condone everything Cooksey says, and if he threatened others with physical violence in the past, he should be banned permanently from the races since that is not acceptable behavior at or away from the races.

Exactly very clicky , wether you agree with him or not ( I don’t actually watch his stuff so can’t say ) everyone’s entitled to a voice ,  that says more about DC than it does this guy I think it’s pathetic 😂

Clique-ey. Not clicky.

Everyone is not entitled to live stream at a race - only NBC.

He's allowed to talk as much as he wants - just not at the property.

I thought the US was ‘Land of the free ' 😂

On a serious note it’s ridiculous its not like people are going to boycot watching nbc to watch this bloke stood in one spot with a camera , people do it all the time they obviously have a media rivalry .

All this whilst there’s people out there with flags they don’t know what to do with staring at the ground , these efforts/time could be put to a lot better use than worrying about cooksey

Most people would get away with it but when you do have a slightly popular YouTube channel, you’re going to get nailed.

Those riders have worked with MX sports and Feld and are most likely not allowed to use any footage of motorcycles on the track until a certain amount of time has passed. And they have most likely done what they agreed to do or not do as far as filming.

I had press credentials  for SX years ago  and at the time  read the rules and there are some forms of live streaming they allowed. But it could not involve certain things unless You have permission from the people in charge.  At the time it was just for SX. They had a set of rules about what we could film live and there was a time period that we had to wait before using our on track footage.  The worst thing they could do under the agreement was to revoke our credentials. They had the rights to use any on track footage we took. But we still owned the copyrights to it.  There were other stipulations that may have changed. But anybody who wants to spend a little time on the google could find a press application and see a large part of what You can and can not do with a credential.

At the time we had a small podcast with about 14k  or so unique listeners.  It was funny to listen back to it and hear adds for coke, or people running for office. We were on blogtalkradio  .  This was back BEFORE pulp mx, DMXS was just starting up around then.  Thestickershopshow.

Without proper access to the teams and riders, you're just another clown on the internet pretending to be somebody.

Go watch a 1st amendment auditor with his cell phone pretending to be a journalist and filming a U-Haul rental place or a school if you want to have some anger.

yet another thread with ML instantly defending and excusing DC's behavior. Whatever.

As for the rest, I find it interesting that the overwhelming majority of posters in this thread proudly proclaim "Never seen a video of his....but he's a loser!"

The guy pumps out a crazy amount of content so it doesn't surprise me he gets things wrong. He creates whatever content he creates, and he asks nobody for permission. ML and him have some sort of history, so he's banished from this site. DC doesn't like him cause he calls BS on DC's decision/history and he posts proof of those claims (like the GHelen topic). Then DC tells ML some BS story about "Oh, I didn't throw him out - NBC did" and the topic is over?

Did anybody actually see his video with the 2 armed cops walking behind him and tossing him "for trespassing". Why would NBC toss him "for trespassing" if they were actually pissed he was live-streaming? None of it passes a smell test, but I recognize that this story (like all others) will just be moved to the dumbgeon and that's it.

I’m over how you treat me and talk towards me, my patience is gone. You’re out.

This man has a history of physical violence? Has he ever served time for violence, or been arrested for it? Why isn't he in jail now? Or is he just some middle age gas bag saying he is going to beat you up? Maybe counter with your dad can beat up his dad? Perhaps a well placed spitball during recess?

I have to admit that I get a lot of enjoyment watching Chile Decastro’s expression on the video where the judge puts him in jail for a couple of months over and over again!!!!!

Then watching him crying like a 2 year old is icing on the cake!

I probably get clicked for this "political" comment but it's fucking comedy gold. Land of the free lol, as long as you stroke the owner.

He came in as a guest (“+1”) on a First Class zone ticket. It is possible the request came through Fly Racing.

The First Class zone is an area reserved for series and event sponsors and VIP’s.  The tickets are not sold to the public.

He was also live streaming his show from the First Class zone to his YouTube channel.

When he was being escorted out, he was asking how to get a refund on the tickets that he didn’t actually buy.

Lemme add you to the “has zero clue how things work” club.

We all have to sign releases that gives us guidelines of how we use event footage. One, you can not live stream any race day on track activities. B, you can run a limited amount of on track footage for social posts and other promotional content in the 24 hours after the event. After the 48 hour mark, you can utilize extensive racing footage in features/videos that are “telling narrative or story about the event or an athlete”.

We get stuff flagged all the time on YouTube and have to send emails to Feld/MX Sports to have their representatives pull off claims on our content.

I definitely support MX Sports' right to have whomever they want at the races for whatever reason they want, but I also definitely don't support the good ol' boy buddy club trying to run a 2024 business like it's 1985. This sport has struggled to grow into the mainstream since forever and having a buddy club keeps underqualified people in positions they don't belong.

How is streaming one turn from non televised practice in the crowd part of this? If I buy a ticket to go watch the race do I sign anywhere that I cant record anything? I dont even watch this asshole but I'm just curious how this isn't anything more then just a petty low blow from the owners.

Don't sign for it but it is usually part of the terms of entry/attending outlined either on the ticket itself or when you purchase it.

That is now the question we need ask or selves. Did Cooksey had media-accreditation, than he (should've) knew the rules and is kicked out with reason. But if he bought his own ticket, than that will open an other can of worms.

Talk about antagonizing….

I just watched the video. I didn't hear him ask for a refund. What timestamp is it at? The video is only 1:49 shouldn't be hard to find.

Are these some of the free tickets then that budd was mad about?

What a nice way to thank the person who got him the pass.   As long as what You are posting is true, there is no doubt in my mind that he went there to get kicked out.  Maybe he thought he could get around the rules by not having a press pass.

But seriously, if he just wanted to go watch a race. Buy a regular ticket and relax and  watch the race.  He would have been fine. Instead he goes to a VIP area and livestreams.  Anybody who did that, and was asked to stop and did not would get the same treatment if You really go for it.  If You are in one of those VIP  areas and get caught livestreaming and are asked to stop. and You stop and treat the guards with respect. There is a really good chance that You are able to stay. But if You are trying to get booted, its pretty easy.
