jathey Added a reply to Your Bike Number
2/18/2025 6:17pm 171 in the early days (which I thought looked really cool on my bike). The district gave me 174 when I started racing again since 171 was taken. I hated that number, so I asked for a new one the next year and was given 94. Now, people probably think I'm some kind of Ken Roczen fanboy because I ride...
jathey Added a reply to How about a 95% or 99% rule? Or how about timed spacing. Here's the arguments
2/18/2025 5:59pm My suggestion was to use the leader lights. They're already on the bikes and could be fired off at the exact timing intervals. Wait for them to light up and take off. Go early and you lose a position. Use or adapt the technology that's already in place!
jathey Started a new thread Dear AMA - Recipe for a better restart
2/16/2025 6:22am Why not use the leader lights for restarts? They could be fired off at the correct timing intervals of each of the riders. Your lights turn on, you go. Anyone that takes off early loses a position. The technology is already in place and this would be more fair and better maintain the spirit of the racing. We all watched...

2/16/2025 6:05am The top 3 should be able to keep their gap with a staggered start. Let them go one at a time based on the gap they had when the red flag flew.

8/22/2024 1:53pm My 12-year-old son and I made the trek from South Carolina to Budds Creek this weekend. Did as much research as possible regarding the best way to experience Budds. We stayed in a small, rustic cabin an hour away from the track. We got there early. We set up our spot (blanket and blue tarp in case of rain). Did we run into a few inconsiderate folks during the day? Yep. It is what it is. That’s life. But we were mostly surrounded by great people that love moto as much as we do. Overall, it was a GREAT trip...

8/22/2024 11:16am I took my 5 year old to High Point this year. Packed a lunch, drinks, and some chairs. Bought tickets and pit passes for us and don't even remember what it cost. It was hot as heck and we had to fight canopies and and train horns everywhere. Long lines to use the bathroom. Walked a mile to park and took forever to get out of the place. On the way home, my little boy said "Dad, that was awesome! Can we go back next year?" Live your life boys...

8/21/2024 8:36pm I mean he tries to go to the races but they kick him out. He still talks to important people from inside the sport to come up with a journalist perspective. It’s funny reading all the hate he gets and people calling him tmz because he not popular. I see a lot of followers in this group, as in they follow the group and they do not seem to come up with their own opinions and jump on the hate train. I wonder if they watch and listen thru his whole videos than come up with their own opinion. Or...

8/17/2024 10:52am Apparently, anyone with a Youtube channel and an opinion is a 'journalist' now? Without proper access to the teams and riders, you're just another clown on the internet pretending to be somebody.
jathey Added a reply to Is the CR500 the greatest Dirt Bike of all time?
7/25/2024 12:16pm Don't know if it's the ''greatest', but it definitely ranks up there as being one of my favorite bikes that I've raced. Then, they eliminated the class. Boo! I like to work on my bikes and the CR500 was so rock solid that I often found myself with nothing to do but lube the chain and clean the air filter...

6/19/2024 7:21pm Marjoe Gortner. They used to run this movie on my local WDCA CH 20 when I was a kid. We thought the Sidewinder was awesome. Dirt Bike Magazine had a cover feature on it. Another good one was CC and Company with Joe Namath. The scene where he goes out in the MX race on his chopper is classic. Ann-Margret...

Kenny was absolutely killing it in the first few laps. Him blasting that sand section in the opening lap was one of the most ridiculous things I have seen this season. Would be a shame if that was the possible ending to his year, or even his career. Hope the comment from Chris has some truth to it. We need this guy out there, still one of the best guys to watch when he's feeling it.

3/10/2024 6:37am I'm sure the other team managers are taking note. He better clean his shit up or start winning every race if he wants a ride in the future. Name only goes so far and I doubt anyone is one is going to put up with a bunch of drama and punk ass attitude for 7th place. Hopefully, he'll get it...

3/9/2024 7:08pm Feld obviously doesn't want to call attention to it and Cooper Webb was professional enough to instinctively understand that in his podium interview. I'm sure off screen was much different.
