I was interested in the new fox v3 rs but not sure. also i would like an Arai but dont know if it smart to buy a helmet that has not any of the new and latest saftey futures.

Leatt 9.5 Carbon.
Arai
6d ATR-3/ ATR-2 or the Alpinestar SM10
The Shop
Luxon 4-Post Bar Mounts

Fly formula
SM-10 or Fly Formula Carbon. Crash tested both.
I just got an atr-3 and am very happy with it.
6d or Arai. Both premium and both fit my head very comfortably.
TLD SE5 Carbon $449 at https://troyleedesigns.com/collections/post-season-promotion?page=1
SE5 Composite $329 on the same page
SE5 have MIPS Integra system
I like bell...
I'm currently in the A-Stars SM10 and am very happy with it. Much lighter feeling than my old Moto 9, though I wouldn't hesitate to get a Bell Moto 10 if I could get one for the right price.
The new 6D ATR-3 Looks awesome, i'd like to try one on at some point and it would for sure be on my list for when it's time for a replacement.
Bell
Simple and well made
The only premium helmet that can be rebuilt...6D ATR2 or ATR3.
Imagine spending $800 on a helmet and you take a dinger and compress the liner to the point that it shouldn't be used again. Any other helmet than the 6d, you have to keep it hanging on the wall rather than wear it again. Seems like a no-brainer to me.
ECE 22.06 only. If I bought a helmet and it didn't have the sticker or label on the chinstrap I would return it and demand a full refund for not having the latest ECE certification.
Leatt and Fly Formula Carbon are up there, as are many others.
Any top of the line helmet with MIPS or similar technology. I feel like they are all pretty good these days.
Many people still like Arai alot, but do they have anything new in their helmets, or any system similar to MIPS?
Rather than "demand" a full refund a wise shopper would look first to make sure a helmet met his requirements.
What's the moto equivalent of a "Karen"?
Reputable Helmet Brand that fits your head the best! There is no 1 brand that's better then the other if it doesn't fit your head. Working at a shop and seeing technology change over the years I would personally recommend Fly, 6D, Bell
Bell, because they fit my head the best and I’ve walked away from some pretty atrocious blows to the head wearing their helmets. I’ve even taken some decent licks in their MX-9 helmet and have really been impressed for a $200 +/- helmet. There’s plenty of great brands, but Bell has always been the only choice for me in MX, BMX, and stock cars.
Pit Row
Fly formula.
6D
Arai, Shoei , 6D or TLD.
They do not. However, as an Arai person explained to me once, their helmet doesn't require MIPS the same way helmets with sharp ridges and contours do. The Arai is very round, and the rounder shape does more to reduce rotational impact than MIPS does. Think of it this way: Would you rather get into a 20MPH car accident with regular seatbelts, or a 100MPH accident with really advanced ones?
Take that for what it's worth: the word of someone invested in the brand. However, that was many years ago - at least ten - and they still haven't felt the need to change their design. Arai has always been about safety before concessions to style or popularity, and maybe they are right. For me, there's no better-fitting helmet, and the difference is night and day.
Fly Formula, 6D, Bell, SM-10 in that order.
I have the Formula now and won't hesitate to get another in the future.
Leatt has some good looking gear. Might try one of their helmets.
I was told the same by an Arai rep a few years ago, less ridges/sharp edges to catch on the ground and jerk your head/neck violently. The Arai is expected to “roll” better if that makes sense.
Fun fact: Arai first got into the helmet business by manufacturing helmets for Japanese Firemen.
Just got my new ATR-3 and crashed my first time out with it. Sent it in for a rebuild and it's on its way back now for ~$180 rather than being an $800 brand new wall hanger.
I hate to admit it, but the new Fox Racing V3 RS is very impressive.
It has an evolution of Mips called Integra split which is an improved version of the original Mips safety system. The carbon fiber shell construction is comparable with the Japanese way of making a shell (Arai / Shoei)
Besides that it comes with an impressive set of accessoires out of the box to dit the helmet perfectly due to the included extra head liner and thinner / thicker cheeckpads. Also they include a visor extender and extra long visor for muddy conditions. Also the helmet is prepared for an audio / communication system and a drink tube. The mouthpiece where you can guide your drink tube trough is sold seperately.
I also really like the new 6D helmet which also comes with new safety features and also the Fly Formula is an amazing helmet, so for me it would be one of these 3.
The Arai and Shoei helmets are very well build but by far outclassed by their competition these days. I’m convinced Alpinestars, Leatt, Fox, 6D, TLD and Fly are really the benchmark these days if it comes to safety and the old fashioned Arai and Shoei are not unsafe or bad but just less safe than other top of the line offerings.
If you see in which other markets Mips is introduced I wouldn’t even think of wearing anything without it. MTB, icehockey, American football and horseriding helmets are equipped with Mips these days.
And I have had to use that service.
Leatt 9.5 Carbon, 8.5 is good also
I recently bought a Fly Formula CC on Motosport for $199 (old graphics, but IDGAF about that). Hard to beat that deal.
