ScrubDaddy is our own local SoCal version of Plessinger.  I don't know of a single person that doesn't love this guy.  Such a positive vibe everytime I talk to him at the track.  Keeping him in our prayers, this one hurts.

It’s so hard hearing about regular guys like  Scrub  getting injured like this, he is one of the nicest guys you will meet, I hope he can recover with no problems.

If that’s where it happened, that  front table is a big one that boots you up pretty high, TBH it scares me a little to jump it anymore every lap in my old age.

I’ve seen a few bad crashes on that jump by kids and vet riders when they come up short.

Hopefully the Minters re evaluate that jump to maybe take  some of the pop out of it and taper the landing a bit more.  Not everyone riding  there is a full time pro or expert…

He’s an awesome guy, but if you watched Swap’s video he said it was because he brake tapped and the engine died, not the jump or track builders fault here.

Either way, still sucks and I’m rooting for him.

Back in June I watched a vet guy do exactly what happened to Scrubb. Minus the brake tap. He went over the bars, right in front of me, snored for 30 mins unconscious while we were waiting for life flight. His family reached out to me & gave me an update the next day, brain bleeding, intubated & sedated but eventually responded by squeezing hands. Long story short he spent about 2 weeks in ICU & 3 weeks in a brain rehab facility & was recently released home to make full recovery. Tough situation to witness.

Prayers for Scrubb

I just had this conversation with the track owner at our local track here in vegas, I said the majority of your customers are over 40 and you should really make these jumps more out than up and have more forgiving landing areas. He just grumbled something about everyone complains and says that his jumps are too easy and the fast guys want booters… i just said I was trying to provide constructive feedback, that being said I haven’t been back out there in 4 weeks because it’s just a little too much me anymore, I don’t need to go 30 feet up to go 70 ft out that’s just silly!

If you are talking about SV, I 100% agree with you. Most of the people who ride out there don't even jump the bigger ones. Kind of a waste of dirt that could be used for other things, or maybe to fill in some of the trenches so the track doesn't flood every time it rains.

A couple tracks (unfortunately none around SoCal)  that I have ridden have gone to split jumps - left half is a booter or triple, and right side is a sloping table, so you can pick your skill level or difficulty when you jump.

Of course the track has to be wide enough to accommodate a jump like that.

They split practices there also, so there are not normally pros or experts out with Vets or Kids all at once.

I was out at Perris in April for our Veteran-MX foundation clinic with Elevate.  Scrub came out and was cool as could be.  Spent the entire day on his feet in the heat to provide a ton of free pics to everyone that participated.  GWS Brother!

Don’t they have a vet track at Cahuilla?  They used to last time I was there, but that was a few years ago.

That's the right way to do it,imo.

I’ve never understood catering to the “fast guys.” They are a minimal number of the total riders and often have several places to ride (including private) at their disposal. The overwhelming majority of riders are vet and beg/jr.
