That same thing could be said for many former champions, namely Jett, RV, RD, CR, Stew, ET3, Anderson, etc. Injuries and mechanicals happen. Bottom line, Chase is leading in the points and he's clearly the fastest guy out there. If Jett, Prado, Tiga, etc were out there racing him, I don't think he would be going 1-1 so easily if he would be going 1-1 at all. But they aren't racing, so it is what it is. Doesn't escape the fact that Chase is VERY fast and VERY fit.

Yup…and Jett most definitely got some gifts in his championships - but that’s not his fault and he was there to capitalize.
….I think you agree….we can literally say this about every championship. Someone at the top always crashes and someone at the top is always injured at some point. MX is a brutal sport raced at high speed. No roll cage, like the pussy racing sports, when 230 lbs of hot steel decides to beat the shit out of you. It will always be like that. It’s up to the rider to be fit, stay up, and balance risk with reward. Jett did that better than anybody last year. Chase is doing that better than anybody this year…so far. That’s how championships are won. It’s an insecure and disrespectful fan that talks about asterisks to feel better that their rider had issues.
The FMOTP doesn't race a motocross bike ... what do they do 60 - 70 mph tops ? Pfft .

You must have watched a different SX season than I did. The one I watched had Jett behind at times and tied with 4 races to go. Then Jett did what he had to and won the Championship.
It’s also humorous that Eli had arguably the best year in history racing dirt bikes in 2022 and was going to win the SX title in 2023 when he got injured just before outdoors…yet Jett fans assume he couldn’t have challenged Jett in MX. Okay…..you can say it and Eli fans can’t prove otherwise. Chase fans can say Chase finally figured out his bike and his confidence and was going to win the 2024 MX title regardless of Jett hurting himself or not. Prove them wrong. In the end one rider hoists the trophy. Cry like a baby…or congratulate the champ….it doesn’t really matter….it just shows who’s a good sport and who’s a cry baby.

Yes Chase is very fast and is well-conditioned, but if/when Jett, Herlings, Gajser, Reneux and/or Prado is on the track, Chase is not the FMOT track, let alone the planet.

ima throw my lil 2 cents in , chase is the fastest as far as US MX goes but u can def tell the difference in chase’s riding & demeanor when Jett is not on the gate vs when hes on the gate
