Anyone not used to the humidity. That’s not really hot tho. Since April the se , Ar.and Mo. etc have been 99+ high humidity and dew point. The air is still in the valley of the track tho . In 91 it was 94 and muggy . Emig was in his race pants with socks on no shirt of course . A bunch of Norwegian teenage blondes all silent staring at him. All the other riders were hiding in the box vans with fans on them.  Jeff is from Mo. I was there last week 99-108 and Real muggy. Scales s ld b4 fueling because of the guy wt . We had 1/3 mi walk in once inside the ac all ovr your body feels soo good. Speaking of ac it keeps failing at bad times like rush hr in St Lois HOT. No where to pull ovr you feel like your going to pass out. This f ng  trk is more physical than jackhammering. Pouring rain near red Bud now. Indiana had rain all day.

Depending on the forecast it could be in the high 80's and very humid or even possibly reach the low 90's if the forecast gets worse.  I realize it can get much hotter than this, but anywhere from 87-92 degrees with high humidity is very hot for motorcycle racing.  Josh Lichtle (Michigan native) was used to the humidity and died at Redbud when the temps were in the low 90's:

Tragic what happened to Josh but upper 80’s is what I consider perfect summer weather, not hot. Don’t ever go to Houston if you can’t handle high humidity and even low 90’s.

We can all handle it although it's not welcome.  But I'm not talking about spectating, I'm talking about doing (2) 30+2 motos in it.  Easier for some who are used to it, but it's no walk in the park.

Lewis got heat stroke at pala when it was in the 60s. Lewis has since been spotted carrying a water bottle around with him at the races. He was asking people for tips on how not to get heat stroke. Everyone told him it hasn't even been hot yet.

As someone who works in the direct sunlight daily doing demanding labor I don't understand how this happens.

Heat stroke is much more serious than heat exhaustion and can cause long term issues with heat intolerance.

Wait, below 35% humidity and not in the 90s and this is hot/humid? Maybe this deserves some track side measuring because it is in a valley and may be higher humidity but... Hot? High humidity? Don't these guys train in Florida or South East where things are much hotter/humid?

Current forecast for Saturday. Sunday bumps up into the 90's and that could pull into Saturday, we'll see how it plays out:

Lewis is English, I’ll just give you a glimpse of our “Summer” right now and you’ll probably see why to us that feels warm.  The only danger we have is getting rain stroke over here

You don't have to tell me, I've grown up in it my whole life. These are professional athletes, though, so I personally think they should be reasonably acclimated. That isn't to say it's not brutal, of course it is, but it is also not that big of a deal for them.

For reference here are the highs for the weekend in the places most pro's ride every day.

Clermont, Florida - 92

Haines City, Florida - 94

Cairo Georgia, - 96

Chesterfield, South Carolina - 95

Last Friday at 3:00 in the afternoon it was 99 with a heat index of 118 here.

No, I wasn't riding.

No, I didn't wish I was riding. Not here anyway.Blink

I hear you, but there is a heat advisory in a lot of those areas right now.  And even though they might train in similar conditions, they aren't doing (2) 30 +2 motos at race intensity during practice.  It will be brutal.

Ya, I grew up in the midwest in MO, worked on the farms with humidity and the summer heat.  Worked construction in the summers in KS when in college, then lived in north TX for 2 years after college.  I know all about heat and humidity.  You have no idea how oppressive 118F in the summer monsoon season in Arizona is.  Everybody thinks AZ is dry and it's not that bad.  Lol,. we just got back from summer vacation in Hawaii where it was upper 80s to low 90s with high humidity and mostly sunny.  It felt wonderful by comparison to what we just came back to - 111F at 9:30 PM.  Seems like every year we have the same discussions about summer heat and humidity.

It could be pretty uncomfortable at Millville, but I'd take that weather every day and 3 times on Tuesday over 118F and AZ monsoon season humidity.

As someone born and raised in Iowa but living in TX for the past 26 years I can attest. It got hot with humidity there, but in N TX its just oppressive. Can easily be 98-99 degrees at 10 pm. I can spray squirrels with water from the hose from 15 feet away and they don't run. They bask!! There was a guy making predictions on the podium at Millville, and he basically said Masterpool isn't used to the heat?? WTF? I know many riders live and train in FL now but it's not any worse. I try and make Millville every year because of family in Rochester. It's always a relief to get away from TX this time of year.

Whatever the temp says, it always feels hotter there.  It's a serious test of heat tolerance for both riders and fans.

Could be a steamer this weekend.  Which riders will it affect?

It’s only 87 with 25% humidity. Shouldn’t be too bad.

I guess the forecast depends which weather app you are looking at.  Which site is showing 25% humidity?  This below shows 68%, and some other sites show similar:

Bro. It's a dirt bike forum. It's not that serious. Profesh is the man, one of the few original posters left on this board. I enjoy his ramblings, shits an adventure.

68% humidity isn't that bad because the actual temp isn't very high.  Given a constant amount of moisture in the air (i.e. dew point), the lower the temperature, the higher the % humidity.  If the temp increases to be hotter outside and moves further away from the dew point, the % humidity drops.  Humidity has to be one of the most misunderstood aspects about the weather there is.  88F and 68% humidity while it may feel uncomfortable to some is just not that big of a deal, especially with cloud cover.

That 25% on the first page was chance of precipitation.  Now chance of precipitation is up to 46% chance.  Regardless of what it turns out to be, high 80's and "humid" according to the forecast is not fun for two 30+2 motos in the heat of the day.

So we've gone from worrying about mud and rain in SX to now worrying about 80 degree temperatures and humidity at an outdoor race in July...🥴

Yeah it gets nasty in that valley because the air is so thick and it doesn’t move but it has for sure been hotter before. Let’s see who is ready for it. Millville is top 3 national for sure
