I'd say if Hunter read that topic he'd be pissed or fired up but let's be honest after the last round, Chase is the favorite to win 2024 MX.
So with Jett out what's everyone's opinions of the CS now, does Chase have it wrapped up or has what we've seen from Hunter leave it wide open?
Hunter's current form is sky rocketing and is ultra consistent now but Chase IMO currently has the higher ceiling...but is "Chase gonna Chase" ?
I think he keeps Chase working for it but Chase’s upside is just too much to overcome I think. I gotta think Chase is just getting more and more settled in on the new bike too.
Hunter is already there. From the last couple of rounds, the Championship is Hunter’s to lose. Chase has had spurts of “Baggett” speed but he needs first Moto wins.
I sure hope so.
But I have a hard time believing it.
Hunter has been damn solid this season, I don’t really see him off the box, whereas I could easily see chase getting a random 5th here and there..

Chase has scored more points in the last couple of rounds and has actually won a moto, so not sure what about the last couple of rounds makes you think hunter has the edge here?
I'm not sure Hunter has the raw speed or the fitness that chase does so it basically comes down to whether chase can avoid the mistakes. He's made a lot of them in the past with eli and Jett pushing him but I highly doubt chase perceives hunter as being on their level so therefore doubt he feels the need to push to the limit like he has in the past.
It will be interesting. Definitely no one persons to lose (especially with 12 motos left) but Chase has the upper hand having been in this position for a couple of seasons already and arguably having the higher ceiling for speed. I’d imagine he’d be devastated if he can’t close this season after the last 2.
Hunter is still a rookie in this class and has been exceptional so far. Hopefully he can keep his starts dialled and remain consistent, I think that will be the best way to put some pressure on Chase. I feel like Hunter is good enough to get moto wins but also making sure that if Chase wins he is 2nd will be important. If he starts to let Cooper or other get in between them it’ll be tough.
Hunter can step it up, he already has, but my biggest doubt is his fitness.
There’s been multiple races where Hunter has struggled towards the end of the race, and he’s been open about saying the 450 is a lot of bike to hang onto at race pace for 35 minutes.
It’s going to be interesting for sure.
Im not going to count out hunter purely on mental toughness. Hunter may not always have chases speed but he will never crumble and thrives on pressure. Chase not so much
Chase gets another asterix
The perfect opportunity for Hunter to pull it off, these opportunities won't come often.
Go Team Hunter, Honda, oi oi oi.
Championships never lie, the guy with the most points wins it,
Hunter has a 3 point lead because hes been making very few mistakes, if he keeps it that way, he can win it, Chase has a history of throwing away races and with the rest of the field being a bit behind these to, he won't get a lot of chances to make up points,
I doubt that Hunter will get it done but i HOPE he can.
but i think that we will see him start to race Chase the same way soon that Chase have raced Hunter since Colorado.
It’s Chase title the loose now but Hunter will probably start to treat this in another way now that Jett is out of it.
I think Hunter will do just fine. I put the odds at about 60/40 Chase/Hunter. I'd really like to see Justin Cooper get a real fire lit in his gut now and at least grab a moto win if not an overall.
My only concern for Hunter is his late moto 2 fitness. Should have beaten Jett on the weekend.
Now it's just Hunter and Chase, he's bound to win some first motos now.
Chase has got this on less he hits the dirt to much. Hunter doesn’t have Jet to train with now to keep him sharp.
Speed wise probably not, if he pressures Chase enough Chase may make mistakes.
With the pending "future King" unfortunately sidelined I'm hopeful we will see a rejuvenated AP, Anderson, J. Coop, and Dylan Ferrandis. It would be great for fans to see more winners besides Chase or Hunter. Not podiums but wins! For my own selfish reasons I'm hopeful.
I think the opposite will happen.
Both Chase and Hunter is going to take the next step. Nobody else will beat them in any moto straight up the rest of the season.
Pit Row
Saw this and it made me laugh.
Hope both can stay up for the rest of the season and provide great battles though.
I'd take that bet and even say Eli gets a moto win.
"Elis coming hide your heart" 😉
The pressure on Hunter to win just got exponentially higher. Going to be exciting.
Last years Red Buuuuudddd results
Would be crazy to have brothers that both won 450 motocross championships in their rookie year.
Now Chase is on his way to a 2nd 450 championship where he'll win due to others injury, it's crazy how it works out sometimes. You gotta be in it to win it!
Are you implying that your Championships are asterisk free? 🤠
Chase has elevated the game to a level that jett is not comfortable with ,hopefully hunter hangs in there and keeps the 450 class exciting.
I mean. 5 rounds in and Hunter is in the points lead. Can Chase step up to Hunter. I think so, but let's not pretend Hunter lucked into this or Chase had a bike malfunction or something. He has earned this points lead.
I feel like with Jett out Chase is gonna Chase less which could ultimately make the difference between winning or losing this title.
I was waiting for someone to use the “asterisk” term. It’s bullshit, and no matter how a championship is won…it’s won.
With Jett out, I don't think he has to push the edge, speed fitness wise he is better than Hunter. Thinks it's the opposite, Hunter had to keep Chase honest, but can he late in the moto?
