Well…
I did not think anyone could even come close to Jett. I’m sure a lot of people will say “Jett was tired. Jett was injured and not fully recovered. Jett knew he had the win with a second and let Chase win. Etc etc.” But that’s motocross. Chase straight up won it. And yes, I’m eating crow 😎
When is second overall a win?
Clearly talking about the second moto win here…
today
Not surprised. KTM didn't pay Chase or spend a ton of money on bike development to watch Jett and Hunter ride around in front of him. Chase came on too late last year, not enough gate drops to show much. Jett's fuck up at Hangtown could come back to haunt him. I don't think Jett is fully recovered or the injury has affected his training.
Blah, blah, blah, I still got Jett to win it.

as I said in my review lil vid , chase still letting Jett hang around , still losing pts to him on a another week when he still he only got 1 good moto in his body is still not good , thts telling me when Jett eventually get back to 100% health , it’s game ova for chase & at this point chase really should be the pts leader by now but good ol hunta is just steady consistent
Looked to me like Chase had things dialed in that moto, and he knew it. The bike finally looked good. Seemed like he just hung back, kept in touch, saved energy then put the hammer down like a boss late and pushed at a level Jett didn't want to try to run. Jett put in a valiant effort at first when Chase passed him late in the moto, but then Chase put the hammer down. Jett knew Chase had the pace and wasn't worth pushing that hard or risking crashing. Great race. Shoots down the theory that Jett can run 80% pace and beat everybody. I'd still bet on Jett for the Championship because of his starts and consistency. Nice to see Chase NOT push the front end when he was running the pace with Jett.
I'd put this right where Chase should have been last year barring the early injury and then missing rounds.
Chase beat Jett straight up the 2nd moto, no excuses. Jett said on podium speech, his legs were toast, nothing about his injured shoulder, even though JT asked him straight up if shoulder were an issue. Chase had better conditioning for a grueling 2nd moto.
F...king awesome race day all the way around!
I'm eating crow...
I picked him for my vitalmx team so I was pumped to see him find his pace in m2. Such a great 450 points battle going into Red Bud.
Just my opinion but I think there is more to the Jett shoulder injury than is being told. It is clearly affecting him but even so he is still winning or nearly winning each moto. I’m not a Jett fan but must admit he is a great rider even when injured.
JT wanted him to say it was his shoulders given how much he was covering for him during the broadcast. When sexton passed Jett all JT would say was how much Jett was checking up and didn’t want to push it. I think it was more Jett just got beat straight up for the first time in forever.
You want to see Jett at his best? He needs to get beat here and there. Jett and Ricky have something in common, they hate losing more than they love winning. Beating Jett will most certainly make him better. On the flip side of that coin, I believe Chase is the only dude CURRENTLY riding the series that can best Jett straight up, and doing so is a huge monkey off his back. Hope they keep battling, cause watching Jett walk everyone is gettin boring. 😂
Conversely, who cares if chase went 3/1 "for the gruelling second moto",
Jett went 1/2 "for the fresh moto", got extra points, and the overall.
I know which position I would want to be in.
Tied at 3 back with your biggest rival and trailing your brother?
I saw a little smoke from Chase’s bike when they were going back and forth. I feel like Chase can run it way closer to the edge than Jett is willing to go. Lots of rounds still left and the top 3 are separated by 3 points. I’m pretty happy with how this is shaping up.
Chase is an animal. Dude looked like he could have done another 30
Jett got tired in moto one. He didn't have the legs in moto two. Another year he will.
Tomac would have gone 1-1.
Pit Row
Hunter looked whipped late in that 2nd moto.
Southwick is no joke. Gnarly shit.
Yes, and same with Jett. Southwick is a man's track. Ask Eli. Southwick showcased how great he was.
It’s weird cause southwick was Jett’s most dominant win last year
Jett may not be in as good of shape this time because maybe the crash at Hangtown? Maybe he is not training 100%? He looked tired before the start of moto two.
No Jett "the neck" fan, but let's see who wins the "war" when it's all said and done. Great 2nd moto for Sexton, but I really don't think the Hunter bros are worried right now. Couple more rounds and maybe.
As pale as Jett looked after first moto it’s clear that he’s not at 100%.
Good for Chase to get that one win in, but some people are really grasping at straws here.
Not gonna lie, was surprised Chase didn't tuck the front.
Excuses excuses, that Hangtown crash was a whole month ago. IF Jett isn't 100% it's entirely his own fault for crashing in the first place
Yes, your right.
However, little good that will help Chase when he'll tuck the front again, and just as the sun rises every morning, Chase will tuck the front again.
Anyway we can all enjoy the fact that Hunter will wear the RED plate again next week.
So you think that he looks fine?
I think his injuries are being greatly exaggerated. And to whatever extent he may or may not have injuries is his own fault, so it's irrelevant to me. They all started the season healthy
Jett wins Southwick and overtakes Chase in the points.
