His moto scores to start the year 15, 17, 12, 11, 9, 10, 38, and 13. I know he’s had some gnarly injuries since moving to 450. Is he even close to healthy? He’s out at Husky I think, so where does he end up? He was a top 5 guy in MX.
I think we should put him on a 250 for mxon.
he’s a nice guy and deserves it.
I was pumped when he got the husky ride, but it's very reasonable to say even before he got hurt last season he underperformed.
Husky hired him to be a 4-8 place guy and that's not what they got, he couldn't get out of his head from the vlogs I'd watched.
No, he doesn't deserve the 250 spot.
Pretty sure it’s sarcasm, that’s what a lot of people were saying about him prior to MXoN last year only for him to get 16th and 20th.
If you ask me, there’s plenty of talent out there that would be more entertaining to watch on that Husky 450 than Craig. I understand he’s been hurt, but he hasn’t done anything memorable since he was crushing whoops on the Star 250 a few years ago.
Ah, my mistake.
He did have the offer to stay at star to defend the title, but I understand making the jump.
The guy has had a long career, with a bunch of injuries, but also really good teams supporting him.

He isnt top5 guy in 450 and never been. Seems more like he has no heart for racing anymore. Maybe SX only for small team but no way he will get factory ride other than Beta or similar who are not after big names and budgets.
He had 5 surgeries on his elbow, he just posted he had got some hardware removed that should help a bit but he said the first couple rounds he was literally avoiding bumps to be able to hold on to the bike. Pretty damn impressive to get a couple top tens all considering.
I know its not ideal if a factory guy is aiming for 10th but like if there is 10 factory riders one of them has to be the slowest of them all am I wrong? Seems like he would be a good fit for someone like Beta or Triumph as its been said he is very very good at setting up bikes and testing.
I appreciate that he stepped up last year and went.
That's not exactly true ,when dungey came back he and Craig were battling for fifth more often then not.
Coming off a title though, I just don't think they expected a 10th place average... and I'm speaking before the elbow injury.
He was top 5 pre husky, since being on husky, he’s been hurt and getting around top 10s. I was very surprised when he was top 10 at the first rounds.
IMO, Fire Power Honda wouldn't be a bad gig for him.
US SX, WSX, AUS SX.
Brayton did well on that type of schedule.
I think he is done unfortunately. It seemed everything was a letdown for him after winning the 250 championship. It’s like he put so much into that, that he couldn’t get motivated again. He’s a nice guy and good personality, he might could look at working in media.
Agreed.
Apparently there a spot that just opened up on that team today….
Hope Max does well at Star 🌟
Looks to me like he finished 5th in the series just before leaving Star and had some podiums along the way.
Looky looky, he finished one place ahead of grampa.
Pit Row
Interesting.
You know it is possible he just does not get along with that bike.
For one reason or another sometime is just doesn’t gel…..look at Reed on his Husky experiment. Was Reeds Husky deal factory? No. But it wasn’t stock either….then he jumps on a Suzuki and podiums the next year.
Maybe my mind is slipping, but I thought reeds last year was on the husky?
JGR Suzuki for a 1 year SX only contract.
Snuck a podium out in Detroit if I remember correctly.
damn, my Reed memory was way off, I could have sworn he was JGR awhile before he went to Husky and retired with them
but nope, Husky, JGR, Honda/KTM
Going by his own words he was GTG the day before he decided to get his arm fixed. He also claimed he was GTG before the first outdoor race. Looks like the same guy/results before and after to me so I am not sure what other result can you expect.
As long as he gets to make his cool pro racer vlogs all is good.
I can’t wait to hear Craig, Webb, Mookie, Bam talk about these Austrian bikes after they retire.
Same bikes seems to work in World championship MXGP races pretty good.
production rules in AMA prohibits certain things that the MXGP bikes are running unfortunately.
Coop will say it was great the 2 years he won the 450 SX Championships on it. Mookie and Craig were banged up most of the time, and Bam Bam was the last Gas Gas rider before the Austrians dropped TLD from the program.
I thought both 250SX titles this year came from austrian bikes but what do I know
It’s clear the results haven’t been there, I think if he was mentally done with racing he wouldn’t be riding now though, props for grinding it out- could have collected the cheque and called it a season, I doubt he is riding for a contract with Husky for next season, so unless he’s fighting for his career and another ride, there’s zero reason to be out there with hardware still in his elbow
