What is the best 450 for a short guy?

If you put the correct spring rates for your weight in, You shouldn't have any problem with any of the colors of your choosing but like stated above, The Husky does start out a bit lower but will hit your wallett harder too.

The 2022 Husky is 4 lbs lighter.

Prob the triumph...Rick Carmichael helped with development and I think he's shorter..

Being 5’7” isn’t all that short, when comparing to the height of some of the guys racing dirt bikes. The 450 seat height isn’t any different from the bikes that you’ve been riding. 

Coop seems to love his YZ450F and he’s about as short as they come.

Problem with that is its only a 250. Be interested in their 450 when it comes out though

Any brand you like and when you get the suspension revalved to your liking have it shortened an inch.

Isn’t the yz known for having a smaller cockpit?

im 155 5’8” and my 22 yz450 feels perfect to me. Just respring it for my weight and it rides very well 

I have a 211/2 RE FC 450 that I lowered for about 500$. I bought it used with low hrs in mint condition and I love the bike. It’s light and adjustable with the Map app. I’m still sorting out the  air forks but the bike is awesome. 

the kx 450 is 37.8 inches tall, you can get a 1" lower seat. it also has plenty of options to adjust the pegs and bar mounts.

the husqvarna is 37.3 inches tall but the lower seat doesnt gain as much as the kx 450 seat.

Im 5'5" and i have never lowered my bikes suspension. i always try lower seats and cut my subframe.

Honda feels like a small and short bike to me.  Obviously the Husky would be the way to go.

I’m 5’9 so not much taller and 165-170 pounds. Always found the KTM’s to fit me pretty well. 

The Beta 450RX has the same seat height as the Husky.

You can typically order thru the BYOB program and get them lowered another 1" or 2" if they're offering that on the RX's.

 5-7 is short for some sports, but your not that short. Im only 5-8 and honestly never had those worries. I do have a little bit longer legs but I always just ride whatever all the way up to an xr650 for years in Baja and ktm 450's now. Don't stress on your height, just ride!

I'm 5' 6" .   I cut the seat on an '06 YZ450 and HATED the ape-hanger feel plus it made it harder to move from standing to sitting so I put a stock seat back on.  Aside from that I've never lowered anything for MX or enduro. 

I don't like Yamahas. 

I like Husky and Kawasaki.  

Standard FC450 (not the full-height Rockstar edition), the CRF450R (once you ditch the tall-ish 839 bars for something lower), and RM-Z450 fit those under the average quite well. Older generation YZ450F 2018-2022 could also be included, but the 2023+ latest iteration feels better than ever for taller individuals. Every bike can be customized, of course, this is just an off the showroom opinion.

Any of said 450's will lug better than a 350, but I have to ask: Have you ridden the newest (2023+) 350's at all? They are better, down low, for riders who didn't like how long the older generation took to spool up...

I’m 5’5”, I ride a 2023 CRF450R. Factory connection suspension with their linkage. It lowered the seat a little bit. I’m totally comfortable on it. Feels like a “medium” sized bike compared to the other brands to me. The Kawasaki feels long and tall, same feeling I got from the KTM variants.

I would have to think an Austrian bike would be your answer.  At 6’3”, every time I ride one I feel like I’m on a supermini.

I have a 2021 Husky FC450 for this exact reason, then got a custom lowered moto seat, and I can actually get both feet on the ground! Tip toes mind you, but feels great to not be executing a balancing act constantly. Currently 5'5"....but at 61 that might be debatable.....

I would highly recommend the moto seat-fantastic quality and fits perfectly. Sure beats messing with cutting sub frames, cutting seats, different linkages, shortening suspension...and I have done each and every one of these mods to get bikes low enough so that I can actually touch the ground to some degree.

Do you have to mod the swing arm for that wide tire like that?
