New buzz words for the sport………Rigidity Balance!
I wish the anniversary edition carried over to this year. I know it is just graphics and colors, but the 2025 250 is so much better looking than the 2024 250. A 2025 250 anniversary edition would not have any problems selling.
Very detailed press release of the changes. Sounds like a promising bike.
Be interesting to see if any changes to the power band is Yamaha/Honda like with good low end fairly linear. The comments on improved counter balancing etc interesting also.
If they carry the rebates over for 25 a lot of green bikes will sell.

I’m surprised by the number of engine changes. Is there a HP/torque curve comparison to the ‘24? Also pleased to see it only gained a couple of pounds which I expected with all added electronic components. I see the air filter is different than the 450 so I hope that means it’s not corked up like it is.
Looking forward to getting one!
Legit set of upgrades, phone connectivity, down draft intake with good second injector positioning, dry sump
Are they releasing the information on the 450 models today as well?
Doesn’t take a rocket scientist to kinda see they are trying to flip every 24 they have. I’d bet ya won’t see to many 2500 dollar rebates on 25 first rattle out of the box.
The 25 Honda was impressive on paper too. But I’d say the green bike out I impressed them on paper. At least looks that way to me. Going to be some good shootouts/tests/review on 25’s.
…also new for 2025 are bolts that fall out and plastic that cracks before you take your first ride…..
Must have bought from a crappy dealer or the minimum paid assembly kid didn't care and you didn't check things and re-lube as anyone would a new mx bike.
I've got 24 hours on mine and have never lost a bolt or cracked the original plastic yet. But I check things. I call mine, maintenance.
Oh! You forgot COMFORT
Anybody know if there is/will be a plastic conversion kit for the last gen models?
But the rigidity balance of the piston has been optimized!
At least chassis rigidity balance sort of means something. Piston, not so much!
65 hours on my 24 KX450 with everything original minus a chain and sprockets at 38 hours, a clutch at 30 hours, and tires. Plus my aftermarket performance add-ons.
BNG, it was all-new for last year.
Red and Green must have used the same US marketing company!!!
The single something or another counter balance is something else I don't quite grasp. I'd guess they were balancing directly off the crank, as opposed to a counter shaft for lack of better terms.
Got it, thank you.......I have one, I was just wondering if there were any updates......I see it now on the Kawi site.
Pit Row
231 pounds holy crap
No Brembo front brake? Wonder why?
They changed the airboot for the '23-'24 model year from the '21-'22 years, which also had them relocate the 2nd injector to the bottom of the boot instead of at the top.
The revised air boot also had a slightly straighter airflow path. They claim this played a role in bringing power on the 250 better on the low and mid range because the '22 I own definitely loves mid and top. However I believe much was achieved through revised mapping because I changed mine through Tokyo Mods and it's a tremendous difference.
What I question is for the new '25 model, even though the intake path is very straight down the boot to the head/valves, the 2nd injector is back to the top once again, like the '21-'22 and what they gain in straightening the airflow at the air boot is compromised with a strong curve coming from the airbox to the boot. Unlike the '23-'24 model years.
So, like others, I'm very interested to see numbers of torque and hp, and see where the rpms are, as well as to ride the bike and feel the seat of your pants difference.
If the 250 truly has gained a couple pounds in weight, I thinks thats ridiculous. Obviously, they're at a threshold reducing weight on these bikes with current frames, swingarms, suspension and motor design. Adding more electronics isn't helping matters.
I'm glad I still have a stable of '05-'06 KX250 2 strokes ( 3 ) when I want to ride lighter bikes.
The ‘24 was 227.6 pounds. You don’t get all the Wi-Fi tuning boxes/wiring, handle-bar switches etc. for nothing.
I like the counter balancer. My last 2 KX250F's had a noticeable vibration.
Probably for cost reasons. Same with the switch to Showa. I liked the front brake on my ‘21 450. The Brembo seems soft in comparison but got better with break in.
Be grateful they didn't because the brembo sucks compared to nissin.
Bikes sound good on changes I’m betting the SR version will be worth the wait
I’ve been saying for 3 years that the ‘25 KX250 would replace my 2017 KX250F.
I can’t wait to see the results of the first shootouts…. Have we heard any bold new pricing yet? 😬😅
I was told that the 450 gets the new airbox and domed filter.
The airbox looks similar between the 250 and 450. Looks like they cut out a lot more of the airbox on the 250, most people do the same to the 450.
