Happy for Jett, Hunter, Sexton, Ferrandis, Kitchen, Vialle, Savatgy, Swoll, Triumph.  Sweet start for a lot of contenders.  Thought Pala looked better than normal.

I was thinking it was kind of a bummer start.  RJ, Hammaker and Marchabanks out on press day?!…Tomac already out. And Jett does the same old boring wire to wire 1-1.  With that being said, I fucking love motocross and I’m still glued to the TV watching every lap!!!

The track itself is a great layout and the soil is good / challenging.

What has always put my off is the venue itself...sand everywhere. If you could bring in trees, lots of trees and plant them around the circuit then the whole vibe would change.

Yeah. The track seemed more raceable in comparison to other years at a quick glance.   Haven’t been there but from the looks of it the ambience is definitely lacking in comparison to the usual circuit.

For spectators is it definitely the ugliest venue on the MX calendar.

For all of the great points already made about today’s race, I can’t believe no one brought up the coolest part of the day…Filthy straight up passed Hunter to run second for a lap-ish!

Filthy’s always been underrated as a 450 Outdoors rider imo. No doubt his dislike of deathcross held his career back a bit, but even after the great MX season he had in 2016, he was put back on a 250 the following year. I could never understand that.

Was awesome to see that splash again today, let’s hope we see a few more before the season’s out.

I was stoked on Hymas yesterday. I really think he's got what it takes. He just needs to keep learning, building confidence, and put it all together.

This was a great Supercross season, probably the first one in a few years that I enjoyed from start to finish.

but goddam do I just LOVE outdoors. 1,000x better. So good to be back!

Missing some dudes out there , but I think it'll be a more exciting year to watch the sport. 450 class will definitely be more exciting , and I think the 250 class will be a barn burner.

It was a fun round 1 to watch. Yeah, Jett is probably a lock for the title barring something catastrophic but Chase could at least put a chink or two in Jett's armor. Who knows maybe Eli will be back strong mid summer and he has a few tracks like Southwick, Red Bud and Washougal where he really shines. The 250 class already showed its hand imho and hopefully Vialle can find a way to stay on pace with Deegan and Kitchen.

Remember (I think the name was Miller motorsports) the races at MM? Dirt storms were so bad you could barely see the riders through the dirt in the air. Ok, a bit of exaggeration but I'd take Pala over that any day.

Hey Boom, I’m going to respectfully disagree with you here.  For me with RedBud being my closest track I was in the area and hit up Pala yesterday.  Beat my expectations and for an east coaster, I thought it was in a cool setting in a valley with mountains all around.  I thought it would flat in the desert?!  If this was all we had to ride, well that is different.

Raceday prep looked good, layout was fast and jumpy with some elevation.  Great to see what the guys have, Hunter, Swoll, Savatgy, Levi, Hymas were fast and of course the race winners.

Fox Raceway is at the base of the mountains behind the trees.

The track itself is barren because they change the layout so much.

I know it’s only one race/track, but only 4 guys had the speed to run near the front of the 450 class. 4th was 30+ seconds back, with no start dramas etc?

As far as venues go, Hangtown is a better track than Pala, but hands down not a better visual venue. It’s so ugly around the area it is in. That being said, I’ll see all you NorCal peeps there.

Something about the start of the great outdoors gets me tingling. Watching the guys throw down on those opening laps. Coming out of supercross you really appreciate the speed of outdoors. Then watching Jett and Chase put down 2:24s at the end of moto 2 when they both had 2:20ish in first qualifying. I just love it.

The Great Outdoors! I certainly don't root for it but even if one guy dominates, it will never be boring to me. Mx is like pizza. Even bad pizza is still pretty good
