Same way for me. I live in Alabama and all my last bike purchases have been in ga, Tenn and miss and I don't have to pay taxes either. That's the reason I buy out of state. That $5,$6, $700 is the difference of a good deal or not a lot of times.

No dealer can sell you a new motor vehicle without sending the info to the manufacturer and often, the government as well, for safety(recall) reasons. Will they match you to taxes paid? Maybe one day. Many dealers will not sell the bike until the MCO/MSO is converted out of the dealer name to the customer for liability reasons. So your statement is not 100% correct

Yeah, you're incorrect sir.  I bought a 21&22 tc 85, in miss and Tenn.  In ga I bought a 22 CRF 110, and a 23 gg 125, 23 gg 250 f and a 23 husky 125 in Tenn.

You are supposed to have to pay taxes when you register you vehicle. Alabama doesn't register certificate of origins so the shoot themselves in the foot in that one. They could collect the taxes but do not.

Now you are correct that places like all mail order stuff now collect taxes but I promise you I don't pay tax when purchasing motorcycles.

I called a dealer in ga the other day inquiring about a new yz250. Mspr plus the $550 freight. .

It's common knowledge around here sir.

Good for you.. don’t apply to everyone.. so no you’re still not 100% correct

What you’re referring to are called property taxes.. not the same.. bud

snd no you don’t have to register a “competition use” only vehicle in the southern states.. 🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️

I never said it applied to any but. "Same way for me" quoting the other dude. Btw , I'm not special but I know others that live here and we all know the same thing. I'm note sure where you live but if you call a dealer in ga, al, Tenn, fl and tell them you from out of state they won't quite you taxes either. If they do I bet they also charge those other $2500 in bs fees.

I just stated how its done here. Nothing more. I am 100% correct in my own personal experience.

For immediate release -

Scientists in the southeastern US today anounced the discovery of a new species they have named Assholus Argumentis.

A knuckle-dragging primate, they exhibit severe cases of Asperger's and their combined age and IQ total less than 50.

They are most frequently seen hanging around MX forums, pissing and flinging feces on anyone careless enough to get near them.

If you encounter one, do not engage them and please contact your forum moderator for elimination.

We now return to our regularly scheduled programming.

So I have a 2014 , 2016, 2022 SR and now the 2024.  Will they all share the same wheels?  I do know I must put a smaller rear rotor (and caliper mount right?) on the 2022 for it to fit on the 2024 right?  Or must I do something else or major to the wheels for them to be all interchangeable in case I want to put different tires on each but have the ability to swap them between each other?

also even though I have not ridden the 2024 yet. I did purchase a couple spare air box panels and I put the holes in one of them already.  Do you guys know what type of screen is used inside the panel to block dirt from going into those holes? I do recall seeing Keefer I believe hot glued some sort of mesh to the inside of his. Do any of you know what that mesh material is?

Also I notice how most of the pros (which I am not 😂) mount their holeshot devices damn near half way down the fork guard. I do not believe the diagram printout that comes with the holeshot device put the drill points that damn far down the fork guard.   Where do you guys run yours compared to the stock 3 choices that come with the holeshot devices?

Oh. And also. I have the Fasst rear brake Clevis, spring /cup deals that works connection sell for the bikes. It seems like they have less adjustment. I just put them on the 22SRcand 24 Anniversary. Is there a way I can get more adjustment or will I have to cut the shafts which they screw onto?

I've Purchased new bikes at a dealer from 3 different states of which i'm not a resident, paid cash, and did not have to pay sales tax. Some states may have reciprocity agreements that avoid this, or "dealer must deliver out of state" to avoid collecting, but i've never had to deal with that.

I've mentioned this before when the topic of avoiding sales tax by buying out of state comes up, but I'll repeat it in case it saves someone some serious heartburn - thoroughly research the topic beforehand to potentially avoid paying a lot more than the sales tax.

There were a lot of dealers using this as a sales tactic in the Southeastern US about 20 years ago and the loss of sales tax revenue was large enough to get noticed by the DOR in these states. They collaborated with each other and audited the dealers. Most (if not all) of the states have "use tax" clause in their tax code that requires buyers of out of state items that are not taxed at the time of purchase to delcare the item and pay the sales tax to the state where they reside. Failure to do so can result in resident state DOR sending a nastygram to the purchaser (sometimes many years later, as there is no sunset clause on the debt) informing them that they owe a significant amount in back taxes, penalites and interest that have accrued since the date of purchase. I've seen an original tax bill of a few hundred become several thousand by the time they get done with their pound-of-flesh magical math, as they treat these people as tax evaders and do their best to throw the book at them.

So, it's up to the buyer to either know in advance or risk paying an exhorbitant amount later... and then being on their radar forever.

Risk versus reward - it's an individual choice.

Hope it helps someone.

California no longer allow us to register most dirtbike models 2022 and newer. So basically they are not issuing any type of registration stickers for those bikes because they say those bikes are only allowed on private land.
So now for California residents it makes more sense to purchase out of state for deals since we can not get any registration stickers for the bikes now.
I’m pretty sure if they try to hit up residents for taxes they will have to issue some sort of registration also.

The 22 wheels will fit as long as you put a 240 rear rotor on the rear wheel. The 2014 and 2016 front wheel you will have to swap out the spacers for it to fit on the 2019 and newer since they changed the axle size.

I’ve owned both.. the 19-23 is very good bike, had a 13 & 17 before that

the 24 exceeds what the previous generation did, was so looking forward to this bike with its new technology which is super easy to use, and it doesn’t disappoint once all the pipe, air box, efi remap mods are complete

waited till bike went on $2500 rebate and picked one up on 3/23/24, used the cash saved to buy all the aftermarket parts shown, just put a 22 OEM skid plate, and rear rotor guard on since they don’t come with them standard anymore

Same dealership now has them on $2901 rebate 😁

So even though the forks on my 22SR are KYB. It can share the same wheels as Showa forks on the other bikes?  The axle diameters are the only difference?

I don't know if the axle diameters are different for an SR, but I can tell you that I'm using the stock wheels from my 2019 KX450 on my 2024 KX450.  The only change I had to make was ordering a 240mm Tusk rotor for the 2019 rear wheel.  The rotor was only like $45.

This is correct, 19-23 wheels work on the 24 (22 SR's with KYB's included).  If you have a 24 and have a spare wheel from a 19-23, you just need the 240mm rear rotor, you do not need the caliper carrier.

Someone asked earlier, for the pre 19 front wheels, its not just spacers.  Bearings/seals/spacer are 2mm larger in diameter.  I cross referenced bearings & seals to get a pre 19 wheel to fit on the 19+'s, but its sketchy, I only use it for winter spike riding.  Would not recommend for normal use.

15 hrs. Nothing excessive. Ditched the chain at 10 out of habit. Cracked a side panel from squeezing the bike. Forgot to wash it for a week and had a little oxidization on the frame rails (dumba$$), but knocked it off with some 0000 steel wool. I’m satisfied with the holdup.

I just ordered tusk rotor that fits a 23 kx250 which is stock rotor of 240 mm. Hoping that’s correct. Should be!

'21-'24 KX 250 wheels are interchangeable with KX450 and it uses KYB forks.

35+ hours, no issues other than brittle stock plastic… who makes this?! That right side panel by lower subframe mount will crack.

First Kawi, so far so good. 🤙🏼

I have ridden the previous gen and as a wag I would say this 2024 is 5% better overall than last gen (assuming uncorking muffler can).

Curious what percent improvement long time Kawi guys would give it. 🤔

I just ordered tusk rotor that fits a 23 kx250 which is stock rotor of 240 mm. Hoping that’s correct. Should be!

Yup.  That is exactly what I did.

ML, you may have already posted this. But between the yosh and the PC pipe, which would you give the nod too?

Is it ok to add the Pro Honda A15-00 oil to the forks instead of the Kawasaki A15-00? The Kawasaki stuff is expensive.

Anyone know how a PC ti6 pro sounds compared to stock?  Is it much louder?

Has anyone done much experimenting with different maps? I see the Chavez map just adds fuel and no ign changes. I haven't played with it yet but curious how useful of a tool it is to alter power to your liking... Once you open up the intake and exhaust is it advised to add fuel or was that kinda built in with the base setting...? Just got mine haven't ridden it yet, super sweet bike and can't wait to rip it!

I’m running the Chavez map with full PC T-6 exhaust and it’s spot on., bike is crisp and clean all the way thru the power delivery

Has anybody heard any news of an SR coming out for 2025?  I'm loving my '23 SR and would love to replace it with a '25 SR.

Also, to RCMXracing I have owned an 07, 15, 17, 19, 21 and 23 KX450 and all have been super reliable.  The only issues I ever had were the chain guide wearing out quickly but even that was fixed with the '19 generation.  The 19 was a huge step forward for me as I could never come to grips with the air forks so stock to stock it was a huge upgrade.  I have over 55 hard hours on my bone stock 23SR with zero problems.

I have the Pro. It is louder than stock, but will pass AMA tech if it is packed correctly.
