Did you complain when they interviewed Phil when he finished off the podium? They've interviewed lots of people who either had unexpected good results, or unexpected bad results, because it's a good story to follow. It's a show, not a legal process.
I was fine with the interview until he started talking about being back in 5th, like the guys in 5th are a joke. The way he said it was like a slide to the squids who are not on the podium.
At least they stopped telling the Lawrence family story every week. From Rags to Riches!!!
They wanted to see if they could make him cry lol

Can someone make that cartoon doll with where did Jett hurt you for this thread. After seeing how he handled the Barcia incident and that race I'm impressed! He made a ton of rookie race mistakes this year. As far as the interview he still the points leader and I believe he has more race wins. And that would make him the true series points leader by rule. I get having your favorite rider, but some you guys are over the top.
Deegs was flawless last night. They only have Jett to pile on
I would have been pissed if they didn’t interview the “guy who was the sole points leader prior to the race and now shares the red plate” - if he was in eighth and would give the interview I’d want to hear it. It was relevant and timely. I wouldn’t want to hear Jett’s story through a politically correct (ala Tomac) press release a few days later.
Spool up the old VHS tape of the 1992 LA Supercross. After the first 2 finishers, the next rider interview they show is the 5th place finisher (who lost the points lead and championship that race).
So the answer to your question is at least 1992. Maybe you can find some other nonsensical issue that mortally offends you…..
Dangerboy*
I winced when they announced him to the stadium last night. The heavy exaggerated announcer voice, "Daaaangerboy!" Time to rebrand with an updated nickname Brian.
As long as Haiden acts like the boy he is, i’ll stick with it.
Backstreet Boys never rebranded. I say run it
Haha! I mean I don't have an argument against this comment
You’re right. Great pull, I was at that race watching Bradshaw melt down. He was a lock for the championship, until they actually had the race.. Totally felt bad for him during the interviews, he was just falling apart. The daytime race after the riots was a different experience, there was still burned buildings across the street..
I knew this thread would get a lot of downvotes, it just wasn’t right that JL gets the attention for 5th and JA gets ignored after beating the points leader. JMO, and I’m sure strange interviews have happened since 1992..
He just got caught and tied for the points lead. It's amazing how many people need to be spoon fed the significance of what is happening.
Perfection ^^^^^^
They gotta keep the "grow the sport" fans focus.....oh, and the grown "men" girly-fans too
This…
And…
A. He has won more mains (5) than anyone-else this season and is The Points Leader (co-leader).
B. He’s a 450SX rookie that’s crushing it.
C. He’s the reigning 450 National and SMX Champ (see that weird number plate color combo?)
D. All the kid has done over the last 3 seasons is WIN.
E. In-case you haven’t been paying attention…he’s like Ron Burgundy, he’s kind of a big deal. People know him.
Pit Row
The last sentence..... The epitome of irony.
The jett delusional never disappoint.
It would have been lame not to interview Jett there. He lost the sole points lead that race. Good job NBC in that situation. 👍. They usually interview whoever the points leader was if they have a bad race and lose the points lead. It's important for following the championship.
I would pay extra for that content...😆
Yeah dementia in your age is no fun…
They interviewed AP7 last year after he crashed out of Detroit. Since when is it a bad thing to hear from riders to hear their reaction after things don't go their way?
They interviewed AC when he finished like second to last in Vegas, AP last year, James in ‘09, the followed Tomac to the asterisk rig last year, etc. The broadcast has a lot of things that could improve, this didn’t seem like a misstep to me. I would have rather watched Kenny and Chase battling full screen for example. My $0.02, hope everyone got to Moto today.
They interviewed MC at shoug 99 and he got 8th and was not even riding the full series or in the title hunt
You got to admit that was a pretty short "interview"...
"Jett, are you pissed right now?"
"Yeah, totally."
I may have Alzheimer’s… but at least I don’t have Alzheimer’s…
They have an hour-long recap of the 1992 season on Youtube that is excellent!
