So weight does not matter? go race with a 4 G tank fill it up for a 12 minute moto and then ride with 1/2 gal.

I guess all the pros I see at the national enduros who just run what is necessary for a test are just plain dumb.

But yes, ounces are hard to notice but it all adds up, as Colin Chapman said: add lightness!

Even at my advanced age I can feel when the bike has a full tank compared to 1/2 full (2.2 Gal XC 300)and even if you are on the weight limit for a National you can go still do this and add ballast where you want it. In F1, with what are very heavy cars now(compared to the previous rules) they still go after grams!

Fork bleeders

If you run your bars forward fork bleeders are a must.  If you believe they are not needed in general, I can’t help you.

They’re notorious for failing and causing all kinds of issues in the forks. They’re all junk, even motion pro’s or the astronomically priced KTM ones.

I understand the concept. I’ve just witnessed to many of them get dirt stuck in them and just be stuck open.
I personally run my bars forward and know the pain it is to bleed them.

All I have is anecdote, but I tend to think your opinion on bleeders is correct.

I've seen a few cases of rusty steel parts (springs, etc) in forks that had bleeders on them.
I haven't seen those issues on forks with OE type bleed screws.

My bikes all have the OE bleed screws and zero rust, but I do retlatively frequent suspension service.

I love when people use those with the bike off the stand

Had a buddy that would load his bike into the truck, tie it down then use the bleeders

Been running them for years and never had an issue.  Those little nipples for your fuel tank vent hose, different story.

Let's think about this one for a minute, is there any other product available that is  responsible for making more roost?

I got a funny story about those damn fork bleeders.  I know a guy who sent a set of forks to Pc or Factory Connection not sure exactly who, but he left the fork bleeders on and during shipping they got pressed open in the box. Got oil everywhere .  The suspension guys called and were so pissed!  They said what dumbass packaged these lol literally they were disgusted.

This is by far the biggest joke on the market. And to think "smart" people swear by this actually working and making a difference because it's "floating" in their mind is just cute.Laughing

No wonder that the world is filled with different scams and ponzi schemes.

You service your own suspension? It seems like the only people who “never have a problem” with them are the ones who never see the components inside your suspension. Every. Single. Set of forks I’ve taken off with them have surface rust on springs and other metal parts, water in the fork oil, sticking open and blowing seals out, etc.

$700 triple clamps. You don’t do half the jumps on the vet track why do you need triple clamps haha you’re not going to feel the difference

Some change the triples for different angles from stock, so then it's not such a far fetched idea esp if the stock bike handled very poorly (here's lookin' at you 05-07 KX250)

Black rims on bikes that didn't come with them from factory

ESPECIALLY on vintage bikes

My entire “Vet Dinosaur” special is everything mentioned in this thread and I love it. 40yr old guy who still loves getting packages in the mail from WC, CMT, Rocky Mountain, and Motosport. Love building these bikes almost as much as riding them these days.

That’s one of the best Suzukis I’ve seen. Just don’t put spoke skins on it.
