obviously had a cold or sore throat going on. I don't think we heard her shriek more than once or twice all night. There were periods especially early on where there was actually dead air in the booth and they just followed the racing. It also seemed to allow Diffey and RC to relax a little, and not feel rushed to throw it to Will for another useless squawk that they'd have to interrupt to return to something on-track that she was stepping on. I mentioned to my wife sometime during 450 race 2 how well done the broadcast had been to that point, and how relaxing it was to not hear Will. She actually agreed. Please Bondo, do this more. It was far, far better than Seattle.
What a pleasure that Will....

Agreed, not sure why she didn't take the race off. But the camera work needs work still, like what happened to showing the starts. The time that we needed the split screen most was when someone was crossing the finish and there was a battle going on. I forget the moto but I think you guys will know what I mean.
I thought her voice never sounded better👍 it was an improvement over her normal voice. Still made good use of my mute button though.
You should be ashamed of yourselves.
Did someone say 1911?

She's a pro . Great job !
Shameless.
Definitely seemed like she was on a three day bender... And not just the voice
Why?
Sounded so unprofessional
I don't find her voice super enjoyable to listen to either, but I think it's a little petty to be shitting on her all the time when she clearly works hard and does a good job. I bet if you asked the riders what they think of Will it would be unanimous. This could be another case like Diana Dahlgren when everyone shit on her for her mistakes, then when the new miss supercross came they wanted her back. Be careful what you wish for, we could have a lot worse than Will.
Until SX/MX stops catering to the ‘new’ fan, the sport will never evolve.
You don’t see an NFL broadcaster explaining that a team has four snaps to gain 10 yards every broadcast.
They break down things that make you think. They talk a bit of technique here and there.
The broadcasts could be so much more. Line choices, why a guy seat bounced here, gear selection during certain sections, actual observations about how the bike set up affects the speed on certain sections of the track;
I could go on forever, but I’m tired of the broadcast catering to the less than .5% that just happened to flip to the channel and decided to see what it was all about.
This isn’t the Wide World of Sports and the USPG back in the day at Carlsbad. We had three channels back then. People that are tuning in are actually fans and know the sport. Stop pandering to try to grow the sport and support the viewership that are diehards.
Whew, okay I feel a little better now.
I will say it again. Why are they throwing it down to Will 3/4 through the 1st lap. It's nothing personal to me against her. It's just horrible that JT raced and has a pure understanding of what is happening as the race goes. She should be used for rider interviews and podium speeches. It's more of production team having no clue in my opinion.
I completely agree … she should be used as filler in between the motos while track maintenance is happening. That is the perfect time for her, I spoke to so and so, his mechanic, or team manager nonsense that she does while there is action going on!
This, the only time I did not mute her was when the camera was on her and she was standing in front of Kenny’s bike in the pits explaining how he was going to ride his back up bike. It was perfect, she had usefully information and bikes were not on the track racing.
I don’t get the hate for Will.
And wishing ill on a woman who engages in the sport we love just because you scrutinize the broadcast each week is really shitty
The thing is, we don't need Will telling us about a conversation she had with whoever it was during the week in the middle of the race. If that stuff is so important then save it for the down time between races.
The segment she did reporting on Kens bike was good, that was information that added to the broadcast but in my opinion and most others on here, constantly throwing it down to Will mid race is not needed. Keep her for the podium interviews and pit reporting and throw to JT mid race for some actual relevant info.
This could have been a great opportunity to use JB. He was there with Race day live. I feel they used her more than normal, and it was terrible how much she was struggling. I like when Diffey actually acknowledged it and asked how she is doing. The production team above needs a shakeup.
Will is fine for me. Don't really listen anyway. But you know exactly why they put her on during the race.
And what is it with the British accent that seems to be required for the AMA racing show? Who insists that is a 'must have'?
Pit Row
They don’t need will and JT and if that’s an Option than will gets the boot. I like jt.
Imagine getting a HUD like F1 broadcasts where you can see speed/gear/rpms through a rhythm section. You could see guys miss shifts, or see what gears different guys ride through the whoops. We need more analytics. The LitPro videos they were doing years ago, like Ricky at Daytona showing the jump speed, height, etc.. that data was awesome and brought a different aspect to the sport.
Although with Will...if next week half the guys are horse or get sick we'll know why lol
I guess I'm just zoning them out. When I'm watching the races I don't mute but I don't really listen to them. Not a single announcer has ever made me got like wtf or to mute the TV. This goes for outdoors and supercross.
I don't have a favorite or a least favorite. I read all these threads about how bad someone is and I'm like not sure what they hate so bad.
I know I couldn't do their job so I ain't complaining.
Now the TV showing shit I don't care about pisses me off. Got a battle for third but we pan to battle for 16,17, 18 or even the leader with a 10 second lead.
I'm just so glad I can watch it so easily...it's one of the few things I enjoy on TV!!
I like her. She's friendly and does alright. What i can't get over is the abysmal, camera work. Jett vs. Eli down to 1 second and we're watching the battle for sixth. It's truly the worst I've ever seen. I\
Exactly! Why can't the broadcast team realize this? They add "color" during the main event in an attempt to engage the non-moto viewers. Then, miss the action on track, ruining it for everybody. The entire format needs to be revamped. Start by educating (or replacing) the broadcast director. E.g., Seattle heat race with AP and Jett battling for the lead, inches apart in the whoops, and they cut to a shot of the crowd. Even the pre-race planning sucks. "Let's show the replay of the holeshot on lap 2, while 6 riders are battling for the lead. That way, when (pick your rider) gets a 10 second lead, we can keep the camera on him for 3 straight laps."
Will is a cool person but the production team puts her in an impossible situation. Give her a segment during fluff time where she reports what she learned walking the pits during the day. If they want to reference her notes from the booth during the race they can without having to interrupt the action. The only person they should cut to during a race is JT, and only if he calls for it because of something he is seeing or hearing live.
