just wondering, what sport or hobby you play on a near-pro level, not even being a smart aleck- just genuinely curious!

Pro level or pro level of effort - big difference. I am not pro speed or anything but might be able to sniff last place of a pro national by the time the checkers fly. I can crank 4x 30 minute motos on track days at will, run marathons, row at sub 1:50 for 10km, etc. I've always enjoyed athletics and the struggle of fitness. VO2 max around 70. All of this at over 210 lbs. Also was in line to do some work in the bodybuilding world but it's just too cringe for me and I bailed. Nobody cares and it doesnt get you a cookie but you asked lol. i'm not special by any means and there are guys on here who can easily best me in any of the above disciplines. I suck at cycling.

You don't have to be a paid professional to put the same level of demand on your body. That's all I was getting at. People idolize the guys on TV and think they're at some transcendental level of physical fitness when the reality is that there are guys sitting at an office desk right now who are fitter than 16/22 riders on any supercross gate.

"Different bore and stroke in a 450"

Tedder let that cat out of the bag:

"You know that’s one good thing about being with KTM: They ask what the rider wants and they just give it to you. And it’s not just the maps. If a rider needs more bottom end, they won’t just look at the electronics—they will actually go in and change the bore and stroke and give you exactly what you need."

They’re changing the bore and stroke for different power delivery.

Big name factory teams do not get specialty built illegal parts at risk of being protested. B team absolutely did it but not on a riders bike that was capable of finishing on the podium.

Do I think there are lesser riders that are racing oversized illegal bikes on the track now? Absolutely it’s Pro racing and everyone is looking for a slight advantage if the can afford to do it.

This is the First time I have ever heard this claim of MC racing illegally vin numbered specially made frames. It was widely known he preferred and ran the 1993 CR250 frame with legal 1993 vin numbers for several of his winning years. He left when the aluminum frame came out and he could no longer race with the 93 frames.

His frames were 93 based, with some special massaging on it.

I'm still more interested in the difference between Works bikes (when they were legal) vs stock bikes. Not so much the suspension but the engine, brakes, and transmission stuff.

Wasn’t a Honda MX/SX team using a KTM rod and/or piston in their 250Fs?

The last us spec HRC cr125 ran a long rod that i think was the same length as the ktm rod.

I have never heard about a 250f running ktm parts inside.

Using a longer rod doesn't change stroke, so it would be legal.

Well… looking at the below picture from AC’s retirement announcement, he’s wearing a mobius wrist brace and what I wouldn’t mind betting is a pair of mobius knee braces with a POD sticker on top.

Around 1:50 pace in rowing for 10k would put you among the very elite world wide among rowers if my maths are right.  That would be between 1.8 and 1.9 min/500 m x 20 = around 36-37 min.  That would place you somewhere around the top 150 in the world for this season.  I row 1 mil + m/yr and can’t sniff anything close to that but I am a lot smaller and most likely much older than you.  You are an animal sir, so I’ll tip my hat to you for that.  Are you in here somewhere?:

Team Nami’s bikes were actually CRF450’s with silver plastics. I even heard they ran 2 stroke engines in them at some point

One I found interesting back in the 2 smoke days was team's running straight zero wt oil from not their sponsors in the trans.

Well I’m not using a concept two but a matrix unit. I do not know how well it will transfer but when I use a concept two occasionally at a foreign gym/vacation it feels very similar. I don’t really use any fitness social apps either but if I had to guess I couldn’t catch a whiff of some of those guys. I am going to say that there’s data or perspective error on my side because I find it hard to believe I’m top 150 at anything. Although I did recently get top 1-2% at some recent rundisney events but a lot of my competition was like fat middle aged women and gay guys so that’s not really something to brag about hahahahahaha

I've never sat down and done like a RPE10 max out but when I do a 10k it's usually around 38.5-41 mins and that includes slowing considerably to wipe my face, adjust my shorts, get water, or piddle with the foot straps. I'm much more into running and moto so I could talk more detail there. Ironically I am a crappy runner on paper too lol.
