Was Jett Boo’d On The Podium?

3/24/2024 8:36am

He was booed the whole time he was on the podium.

Everyone I know is just over him. They showed him watching one of the 250 qualifiers. They showed him while his brother was winning the other 450 qualifier. They were showing him watching the 250 main.

It’s sad really, he could be such a bright star with a little bit of humility.  It’s also not his fault that feld and the broadcast people continuously blow him.

"Willing to push it to a crash"

My theory is he will slow down after a big one, and be better! If not, he'll go down as a James Stewart II (with more style). It could swing either way, these guys are headstrong! Trying to get James to slow down, or Ron Lechien to quit partying prooved fruitless.

More style than Stewart?

Jett's got style but more than James is quite a stretch. JBS259 especially but I guess a point could be made for post WADA James.

It's more smooth style vs flashy style. He's so smooth it's stylish. Like Jeremy, JMB, Bailey, Marty Smith and Lechien. The ability to dominate is comparable.

So far 2 posters have said Jett was 2 seconds faster than anyone else.

This after our resident statistician posted Jett's fastest lap was 1.4 seconds faster than Kenny's fastest lap.

But my favorite post was the "Jett proved tonight he can dominate when he wants"!

On a night where he finished 3rd by 24 seconds, with AP closing on him? You could say that after Daytona but not this race. I guess that's the difference between a fan and a fanatic...🤓

look, I don't want to ruin your narrative; you seem pretty hell-bent on being an idiot. But, in lap 6, Jett was nearly 2.5 seconds faster than Webb and Sexton. That's what brought up the "2 seconds faster" comments. Not comparing fastest laps of the race. They look at the time made or lost per lap during a race.

Plus, when you compare fastest laps, even if they are on different laps, 1.4 seconds doesn't seem pretty damn substantial to you?

Screenshot %286%29 0.png?VersionId=6KdbKhwreVaxI7NxcCfOCM01dg4h5kp

The comment was, "he was 2 seconds faster than anyone."

So on lap 6 Jett was 2 something seconds faster than Chase and Coop. Kool.

Who was the fastest to the checkered flag? Who was 2nd fastest? Who was 3rd fastest?

A. Jett

B. Coop

C. Chase

D. Bob Hannah

P.s. Don't be hell-bent on being an a-hole when bench racing

Dungey will go down as the most humble champion. People railed on him for being boring. I'm glad I chose fortune over fame...

Jett didn’t do himself any favors when he tried to center punch coop.  Then down play it during an interview.  Which is the kind of things that bring on the boo’s.  It’s one thing to square a guy up, rough him up and pass.  It’s another to try and take someone out when you are clearly faster, looked like it to me.  I used to kinda like the guy but he is turning out to be the beginning of a Wanker.  HRC better send his ass to charm school if not redneck America will boo his ass all the way back down Unda.

With my amateur eyes, it did look like Jett was clearly (and yes, clearly) faster. He did mistakes and things happened but I didn't see clear indications of anyone being faster. Then again, the fastest doesn't always win.

Just stop. He's faster than the field. That's the only comparison to James. Your bias is so blatant it's laughable

This is an opportune moment to pour water on Gypsy Bro's ridiculous idea that supercross can be as popular as Formula One. Supercross fans are from a completely different demographic.  Formula One appeals to the wealthy and elites. If you want supercross to start gaining some mainstream fans don't show the people in the stands.  They make the sport look far from glamorous.

On the other hand, going “mainstream” and tons of $$$ have turned F1 and NASCAR into pussified versions of what they once were. Careful what you wish for…

First to the finish line > fastest lap, at least that's what the unbiased say 👨‍🎓

And for Pete's sake quit falling down!

The dingo fence is in the southeast corner of Australia. The rabbit fence is in three parts heading north to south, I believe, splitting the country east to west. A games man imported rabbits to Australia in the mid 19th century, and shortly thereafter this invading force was destroying the nations entire agricultural and ecological system. Australia combatted this army the way China defended itself against the Mongol hordes, by putting up a wall.

Few things about the Jett’s last night

did he set the fastest lap? Yes

probably had a couple of the slowest as well (too lazy to look)

did he “back it down”? Maybe. Question is how much 100% to 80, 90 to 88? Lord only knows

whichever, however, we know for a fact that he finished 3rd overall and in a Race that is all that matters. Could have, would, have, should have are for fan boys and not actual results  the results are the results  The how and why doesn’t matter and can never be excused in a Race. Webb won the race fair and square

Jett has the skill to take more risks. I.e. wall jump, but these risks (physical and mental) can also be equalizers and for that  last night, I am thankful

I'm not American, or in America, but a lot of Americans seem to have been pretty damn supportive of Jett. And Prado and whoever else.

There are assholes in every group, and *some* Americans can be *some* of the worst, but this kind of narrative doesn't help anyone and isn't accurate.

Are you right there? One wanker makes a dumb comment about Americans and then all we hear about is you trying to educate us on our country lol So back on topic, yeah Jett was boo’ed it seems and I don’t think there was any way he wasn’t going down in that corner against Coop.

He would have had to completely not touch the brakes and lean into contact to have put webb down, which was clearly not what he was intending to do.

i think he expected webb to clear the corner a little faster imo

The Stewart crashing out analogy is spot on. Jett is clearly the current FMOP, nobody close except Sexton possibly.

BUT, last night was a perfect example of how you can lose a title. No need to hang it out in 3rd place at this point on the season/points race.

edit: you don't beat the fastest guys in the world without a massive competitive spirit, as they say you can beat yourself. Jett is the fastest thing we have seen since 259 on a 125 showed up. Faster...

Jet is learning every weekend.  This weekend he learned he doesn't need to overtake everyone by mid moto.  He could have backed it off and been in the lead with 5:00 left no problem, thats how much faster he is then everyone else.  Once he BELIEVES he can win with 12 guys in front of him EVERY TIME, its going to be good night irene for the other boys out there.  And its going to get super boring to watch

It really rubs people the wrong way when you always have an excuse for losing or for a mistake. He definitely needs a humbling experience. But nobody near him in age is even close to his level.

I totally understand Australia not having basic elementary school history classes of it's own nation, but you do have Google don't you? And yes, it kind of sucks Jett is getting booed. I can understand resentment about some of his comments, Ken's birthday - MC's record, but he is a kid after all. His remarkable talent is without a doubt though, and should be appreciated by all fans. Even the Australians.

Standard Australian, lumping all Americans the same, even though it's a country of 350 million people spread over 4 time zones with thousands of sub-cultures. It must be the stress of having the Koala bear as your only marketable tourist attraction, a fence going through the middle of the country to protect you from rabbits, and knowing that it is inevitable that Beijing will be your capital.
