Not enjoying the Racing as much this year..

Firstly, I know this sounds grumpy or I’m looking at the world through rose coloured glasses, but hear me out here..

Im an Eli superfan, so it’s been tough, I didn’t even see him last weekend..

the Jett Hype and constant talk is too much for me, it’s just annoying now, not saying he doesn’t deserve it, he is clearly the best guy, I just don’t need to hear it constantly.

I was really pulling for forkner this year, I have been a fan for many years now and I thought this was the turning point..

was Hoping to see a Deegan rise up and mature a little.. he didn’t.

Now it doesn’t look like anyone has anything for Jett, if he starts up front, it’s over lately.

I still bleed moto.. I’m on here every day, I listen to all the pulp shows, shit, I even listened to a couple gypsy tales shows!

Im just not hanging out for the racing to come around each week as bad as I usually do..

Anyone else feel this way? Or am I just being a bitch haha 😂

The racing hasn’t been the most exciting this year. And I always prefer championship to come down to last round. It was similar in the RC days when he was dominating outdoors. The only difference is, RC had Reed in sx to make it exciting. It’s looking like Jett could be dominant in both series.

Same here.  I used to jones for the races, last weekend I shut them off before the end of the last 450 race.  I feel bad about it, lol, but I am Jetted out…

The tracks have sucked, the weather has not helped but the original concept of SX was “indoor” that means covered stadiums so weather does not ruin the party….how is it they built better tracks in the 90”s-2000”s compared to now? Hopefully the Honda gearbox explodes in one main event to close up the points gap😂

It sounds like you had a lot of very specific expectations that didn’t play out the way you’d hoped and it stole your ability to just enjoy it for what it is.  Racing is unpredictable and so are people.

People who hoped Jett would continue winning and for deegan to be a wild man are likely stoked.

It started out good but as Jett has gotten into his groove it’s been getting boring. Doesn’t help that the first triple crown was great racing and this past week was one of the most boring triple crown’s ever…

For me, the complete lack of proper racing and battling for wins have made this one of the least entertaining seasons in years.

Jetts starts have made it boring. Maybe Eli will figure his starts out and get his mojo back? KR was close to making it more interesting last week.

I feel the same. Being a Tomac fan is tough right now when we all know his talent. He needs good consistent starts. But with "the deepest field" its been less and less interesting every round. Only 1 guy has been remotely consistent, Jett. And not to mention everyone just lets him by and gives him extra room when he's going to pass. No one is fighting him for it right now. That's why his lead is so big already. 2nd-5th are consistently all over the board on finishes. Where are the 3 main podium guys? It hasn't happened yet. This season is reminding me of 2021. Webb was the only one who wanted to win that season, everyone else just kind of rode around at cruising speed. I hope ET can figure out those starts and we can see some actual battling. And bring back lime already..

Arenacross has been awesome for race action this year!  I find myself yelling at the screen when watching.  I love it!

450 has been a yawner,  whenever Jett gets the start it’s pretty much over. The 250 classes have been exciting for me though.

I think the super basic tracks this year are also a contributing factor..

Basic tracks and the production team refuses to show the race.

I have to say I feel the same way too this years but not because of the Jett show so much. The track have just been so boring, plus the fact that they turn into rutfest, plus all the mudfest, I’m just not as into it. I was watching St-Louis 2014 last night (I watch old races to get my fixe 😂) and they had 10 whoops that led straight into a dragons back that landed straight into a rhytm section, with barely any ruts. I couldn’t believe it!

“ if you can’t beat em join em”    I’m trying hard to become a Jett fan.  Doesn’t come natural but he’s growing on me.   I started off by just liking  his Dad.
Baby steps.  If you hate Jett it’s going to be a long ten years as an avid moto fan.
It would be like hating McGrath’s guts in the 1990s.  How much fun would that be.

Not that they can help it with the weather we've had, but just like motocross, when the tracks get too rutted (jump faces and the whoops) the racing gets boring. It creates too much separation for racing to be close IMO.

I think there are a few factors

-Basic tracks

-Average racing, No great battles, No last lap passes for the win, Ect

-Multiple mud races

There have been a lot of things to talk about but not as much battles for wins so it can feel slow at times. I guess the silver lining here is it’s forcing Feld/AMA to consider different formats and see what works on the track and what doesn’t. Making the tracks safer (although with good intentions) makes for similar lap times and less opportunities for passing. These are the best riders in the world, they should be riding the most difficult tracks in the world.

Yes! I am still hoping Dax Bennick steps up his performance to his full potential. Would really like to see him get to the front regularly. He has some skills!

It wasnt! I was pissed every weekend. HAHA!!! I was not a MC fan. I am actually a fan of his now though. I guess time away from racing and realizing for real what he accomplished changes things.

I'm with you and your other thread.

I am basically Tomosexual. If Eli is not firing, I usually just watch more casually and multitask. Really want to see him 'click' for a main event.

The tracks are bad. The move to standardization and no whoops is terrible. Why we can't seem to get a track where the guys are racing each other and not the ruts is confusing to me and there's no convincing me that this is not a new phenomenon.

Finally, yes we are whining but I think it's justifiedLaughing

My favorite is when there's a battle for first and we need commentary on the 7-8 place battle and its backstory....

I look forward to every race!!!!

Though I'm not all about one rider dominating, If Jett does keep dominating we're seeing something that should be appreciated. You have to admit his style and form are unique and something to admire.

Also good to see Kenny stepping up and having some moment when he and Jett do a bit of haggling. Seeing that makes me hope that he and others such as Webb and Sexton can put some pressure on to force a mistake here and there for Jett.

I do agree about the mud races not being the best, but on the flip side...Jett doesn't appear to like mud so that opens the door for someone else to win in the mud.

Uhm, do any of you guys remember the days that if we wanted live info we had to listen to XM radio and wait a week for the telecast? As far as Jett dominating, well we all knew that was going to happen. Gutted for Forkner, I really wanted him to get a Cship. Pretty sure he's more disappointed than me but... Lastly, I'm disappointed in that we've had so many mudders as it turns the race into "survival" vs "racing". But overall, I still look forward to Sat Night SX and I love the early start time!

I get so tired of hearing this shit. That 30 years ago. Technology has changed. Go back and watch a race from 2017 it was a better product, even with Ralph in the booth. At least they showed, and talked about the current race on the screen.

Jett doesn't even need to start up front to win. If he is in the 5-7 range after the first turn, he is still winning. I just watch the 250s and 450 start.

I think the biggest problem AMA/Feld/Dirt Wurx need to fix going forward; get back to making normal tracks and prepping the dirt like they used to. The condition of the track shouldn't be as much of a factor as they've made it for the last 5 seasons. The last 2 years have been the worst. I agree riders should be racing each other and not the track for the majority of these races. When guys have to tiptoe thru DRY whoops because they essentially resemble rutted mud race whoops, that's terrible track preparation. Enough is enough, bring back the lime. Don't use lime if rain is in the forecast for a stadiums without a roof. There were zero lime problems for the last what...3 decades. San Diego was an anomaly, treat it as such. Then after you fix the dirt prep, make whoops normal again. Blitz only, that's why they created them. Bring back the dragon's back as well. There was 1 crash on them last year, and we get rid of it? I bet if they had used lime on the dragon's back Barcia wouldn't have got hurt because the jump wouldn't have been beat to sh%t.

Take Jett out of the equation and the racing would be incredible.

There’s that.

I see this opportunity to watch Jett go to a new level as fascinating.

Same when MC came up.

Don’t miss the moment is all I can say about that.
