Actually slightly lower population than Texas…

Chase will be around yes, but Chase is already "done". Jett knows it and Chase sure as hell knows it. Last year, Chase was arguably at peak form. Jett was literally wiping the floor with him as he was learning to ride the 450 as a 19 year old rookie. I don't think people even comprehend how ridiculous it is for a kid to hop on a bike he had never raced before, at 19 years old and destroy riders who have been building and building for years. If you think last summer was a bloodbath. Wait until Jett is 22 or 23 years old......

It has been the perfect storm for Jett this season, he has been phenomenal, but he was also the most settled guy coming into the season, even as a rookie. Sexton was on a new bike and team, which we know he was struggling with pre-season, then he picked up the hand injury. Tomac coming back from a bad injury and a long lay off, with Webb also on a new bike.

I don’t mean any of this to take anything away from Jett, because I think he’d still be leading the points regardless, but I don’t think you can look at the likes of Sexton this season and say that this is absolutely all he has to give. It’s easy to say looking at this season that this is it, Jett wins everything for the next 10 years, but that wildly underestimates both the talent of his competition and the unpredictability of this sport IMO

Last night jet was only riding at 80% then in the 3rd moto he dialed it up to maybe 90% to fight off sexton creeping up.  The dude is just trail riding out there.  Welcome to the next 10 years.

He’s going to make a serious run at all the records. He is the perfect age. NOBODY close to him in age anywhere near his level. If he were 3 years older then these records wouldn’t be possible. The next one under him in age who MIGHT challenge him is Vialle, who is at least 3-4 years away from getting to that level. Above him, he’s moving up right when guys who have been amazing for a decade are taking a step back and/or about to retire. The only person not about to retire even close to him in ability at all is Sexton, who literally has yet to pass Jett a single time so far in over 30 races of Jett’s career.

It was obvious that he could reel in Kenny any time he wanted.

And did just that.

Again, he's learned how to ride the tracks just fast enough to win.

guys would kill to be in his spot, AP is doing great. Stop blaming the bike and just ride the damn thing.

getting kind of sick of riders thinking everything needs to be perfect to win. Maybe you’re not as good as everyone told you you were.

edit: case in point Kroc. On a satellite team with. Bike from 2018 with no e start. Has no issues beating chase regularly and honestly riding better. Stop focusing on what you don’t have and ride the bike.

I wonder what he’d say if Chase hopped on another bike like people say if he might do better and or noticed any improvement.  He looked plenty fast at Indy.  The Honda had a narrower room for error where the KTM isn’t knifing so he has an improvement already for his riding style.  He is under a big contract so it’s hard to believe they couldn’t come up with something that works but then again they just had issues with Webb having some kind of problems.  Whether the bike or the rider it’s touchy but certain riders like Plessinger and Chase’s new teammate Vialle are finding good success.  If Chase is still in good with the bosses look for more improvements coming off the hand injury and late testing on the bike but he seems already there.

Did you not watch birmingham? Even RC said what is up with Chase "I've watched him almost lose the front end 3 times tonight" or something to that effect. All this immediately after the switch to those hype KYBs. Its obvious he loves a certain feel and that set up is what is kicking his ass.

I want Chase to challenge and pass Jett. At this point, I don’t think he has ever just straight up passed and beat the kid. If it hasn’t happened yet, I don’t have a lot of faith he will.

And he’s far from my favorite rider…but there is no denying his talent and potential.  And injury free, The 2020’s are to Jett what the 1990’s were to McGrath…and the 2030’s will be to Jett what the 2000’s were to RC.

There is a high risk that Chase becomes the new Windham of the 2020’s. Super talanted, good riding style but has the missfortune that there is ONE rider he can’t beat.

Disagree, especially on Webb, this is by far the best he's ever raced on a 450 he would tell you the same.

At times Tomac and Sexton have been close to their best that was shown at Daytona, you could argue that Sexton is currently riding his best because most the times he's been the fastest rider he goes down more often than not which hasn't been the case this year.

Go watch Race one of last night and see what Jett did to Kenny, no one has done shit like that since Stew.

We knew before the season even started that Sexton was struggling with that KTM, since then he has been injured and unable to ride n the week for a fair chunk of the first part of the season, so whilst he’s still been good, I find it very hard to believe that he’s close to what he would consider his best. Tomac has been way off his peak form the entire season, save for one race at Arlington.

Shame about the US amateur system. Multiple posts on here saying Prado may be Jett's competition, but hardly a mention of any fast young Americans save for Deegan. Whom I think we can all agree, has his distractions. This country is perhaps the largest and wealthiest country that races MX/SX, we certainly have the largest aftermarket, the most tracks, the most dealers, the most trainers, the biggest amateur events. That a kid from a country whose entire population is perhaps equal to the state of Texas can dominate is embarrassing to those involved in coordinating the growth and health of the sport in this country. That Jett is not the only example reinforces the lack of America's ability to develop talent, Prado, Vialle, Davies in futures, a rider admittedly past his prime from Germany the only one who can hang with him here now, on and on.

That's the result of growing up in training facilities, racing a few times a year, having multiple classes (A,B and C), racing full blown factory superminis, thinking a whole amateur season is just a race in August in Tennesse, and racing short races until you turn pro, you have created a generation of very good riders but not very good racers, unlike Jett who grew up racing amateur in Australia/Europe and did the oposite, seems that racing Belgian/Dutch championships in the deep sand of Lommel or Lierop teaches you more than spinning laps on a perfect track in a training facility.

But not everything is lost for american amateurs, american teams are still ignorant, thinking european riders cannot ride SX, they are "MX Specialist", the only team that has opened their eyes and realize that Euros can Learn Supercross seems to be Kawasaki, this is the first time in a long time a MXGP champion has switched brands to race in America, for sure Jorge cannot be as fast as Jett right now on a SX track, but he can on a MX track, give him a year of full time SX and he will be at the front, look at Tom this year.

There are a lot of European riders that would love to race in the US, if American teams were to give them a call, those Europeans could be a better choice than an a kid racing Lorettas right now, if you guys just copied the European amateur system, the US  riders would smoke the rest of the world in every MXdN.

Here’s something to ponder…

If Jett wraps up the 450SX title and goes on to win the 450MX title, he will be sitting equal with James Stewart on career championships (5).

If he stays healthy for 10 years, he re-writes the record books.

I feel dumb asking: Does Ricky’s motocross record (102 of the 150 wins) include his outdoor years? It has to, right?

102 / 7 years in the premier class would be 14.6 wins per year. That’s too many.

102 / 10 year career = 10.2 wins per year. that’s insane.

How come his 125 Supercross wins aren’t included in the 48?

That is the benefit of having a system where the young talent races properly. If you are a team in MX2 pulling someone out of EMX in Europe, there are few surprises because you’ve seen the rider from the age of 14 racing on GP tracks, 25+2, 16-20 times a year across a wide range of terrain and conditions. You know what you’re getting.

The US amateur system up until recently seemed like a bit of a lottery to me. They don’t do enough meaningful racing and the races they do have are not long enough, so there’s always a bit of guesswork when it comes to working out who will have it when they go pro. I think SX futures and the Moto Combine will go some way to fixing that though, and it might make Loretta’s titles less important as the teams will be able to put more stock into what riders can do on proper tracks, on the big stage, rather than in just 3 moto’s on a track they’ve raced 10 years in a row

125/250 SX is a regional championship, not a national championship. The same reason why those titles are not included.

If that happens, he'd be ahead of James with 6 championships.

You're forgetting the most important title of all. The World SuperMotocross Championship. Laughing

102 / 7 years in the premier class would be 14.6 wins per year. That’s too many.

102 / 10 year career = 10.2 wins per year. that’s insane.

How come his 125 Supercross wins aren’t included in the 48?

The real number I’m looking for is 125. RC has 124 450/250t wins. 76 in MX and 48 in SX. His 150 number includes his 125 MX wins, which I personally don’t care about with records. I care about premier class wins.

So the records Jett is theoretically chasing:

8 450 MX Championships to top RC’s 7.

8 450 SX Championships to top MC’s 7

13 450 combined championships to top RC’s 12

73 450 SX wins to top MC’s 72

77 450 MX wins to top RC’s 76

125 combined 450 SX and MX wins to top RC’s 124

They seem insurmountable looking at the raw numbers. But he can definitely do it.

Die hard RC fans will always be able to bring up him going undefeated in MX Championships. 10/10 overall and 7/7 in the premier class.

I said at times, being consistently fast is the hardest thing to do in this sport.

Tomac has shown his best at times this year it just has not been consistent, A2 race 3 and Arlington where he went through the whole pack is what we know as beast mode, "Way off his peak" is a stretch.

This version of Tomac we have seen before on his Kawi days, weird races.

With Sexton struggling with the bike he's been pretty damn good, as I mentioned he has barely gone down at his "peak" he constantly went down aka not handling the speed he was asking out of himself and the previous bike, that said I do think Sexton can do better than he is currently showing, that said would it make a difference? probably not.

125 Nationals do count. You obviously don't know what your talking about. And who cares how many wins Jett gets. Hès a great rider no matter how many wins he gets.

There have been several European or world champs that come over here and win some kind of races or championship with talent like crafty frenchmen who get credit for being good at supercross and get rides over Americans.

If he stays healthy for 10 years, he re-writes the record books.

It sucks that a kid could have a 10 year amateur career with a record number of wins as the best ever but it all the sudden being considered invisible 🫥 when they turn pro.  Why not have any pro win count towards a pro record?

The difference is you have him chasing records from 2 different riders. And he can do much of that himself possibly, Before 30.

And if 124 is your number he is at 16 of the way there at age 20. and if you count 150 as the total he is at 43 and that is not counting SMX

Will he? who knows. Can he? Absolutely. No one in 250's currently is going to challenge him in the next 3 seasons

What are you talking about?…“nobody coming up?“  I went from 80 beginner to 250 pro in three years.  There are 80cc beginners out there that will beat Jett in the future… the question is how long can he keep his game elevated to fight off the ones coming up?  It is shortsighted to say there is nobody else coming up,  I’m guessing there’s a few 12 or 13-year-olds out there that will give Jett all he can handle later in his career; but that’s just a guess.  I’m certainly not thinking there’s “nobody coming up.”
