I think it's about time you mount a couple of wide angle cameras in the stadium to cover the whole track. It doesn't need to be your expensive production 8K 240fps production cameras with zoom lenses, just some decent wide angle cameras with a fixed lens to capture the whole race track. Then, you can edit all the "off camera" incidents into a highlight reel so we can see what went down. There's no reason why in 2024 we shouldn't know, or be able to see what happened to our favorite riders on the track. Given the small amount of real estate a Supercross track covers, there's no excuses why you can't cover the whole track. There's a lot of shit we never end up seeing, and that is easily solved with some wide angle cameras and some quick editing. We are only three races and there's been several incidents the fans would love to see. And who knows, maybe this can help the AMA with decision making for penalties when they "miss" certain incidents?
It's crazy that we get this footage from a casual fan in the stands filming with his phone:
I totally agree but I don't think feld or peacock or AMA will ever be the ones to do it. I wish any media outlet would just do this themselves. Put two guys in the cheap seats and have them get the whole thing. I'm guessing teams already have far more video than we ever know exists.
Please submit your ideas/comments/complaints/etc. on the proper form(s) to an onsite Feld Suggestion Box for prompt consideration.
Solid idea. I second this
Good ideas just end up in the Bondo round file.

How about showing the last 8 dudes out still racing instead of showing the winner rolling around after taking the checkers? And then not even bothering to show who made it into the main event (this exact scenario played out after the 1st 250 heat.) We thought Shimoda was headed to the LCQ with his bike upside down and smoking on the last lap of the heat. Turns out he somehow made it in. Sometimes they miss the battles for the last spot in the LCQ, stuff like that. Just consistently lousy production values. Simple changes could make the whole broadcast so much better.
Great idea.
You mean when you are watching from home and you hear the crowd go wild, and anxiously wait for the camera to switch to the crash or pass but it never happens? Meanwhile the commentators keep talking about something unrelated and somehow we know from the couch someone passed or crashed but the production team misses it. A wide angle camera would cover it all, and a full race unedited webcam type of video clip could be added as a supplemental feature to peacock in addition to the broadcast.
The racing has been excellent this season while the coverage has been worse, and that’s sad as it was already crappy. Missing huge moments with the camera, announcers not even talking about a pass that was made, cutting away from a race for a rider interview from two months ago, RC and his masterful use of the English language, the list goes on. It’s a joke of a broadcast. I’ve spent the past 3 Saturdays yelling “show the effin race” at my tv
Everyone just needs to not chill
-RC
How about letting RC go full bore nit-wit. Take all the supporting cast away and just let him bang his gums away all race long uninterupted about Cooper Lawrence, wheelbarrows, wd40, red KTMs and whatever the hell else. It would be the funniest shit ever on TV, nonfans would turn off SNL to watch the Ginger mouth tripping all over himself.
He's worse this year than ever before.
Constantly running his mouth about stuff nobody gives a shit about.
"For those new to the sport...blah...blah...blah...blah"
Second only to the wheelbarrow comment.
If they're seriously trying to pull in "new fans", his cornball routine isn't the way to do it.
RC might have beat JS records on the track, but JS is the broadcast GOAT for sure.
Whoever is directing RC needs to stop. He’s better on his own, I think.
The reason that I say this is.....
Great idea. Maybe repurpose one of the cams that is required to follow the Lawrence bros at all times.
SHITCAN THE DUAL SCREEN!
Also make sure you show two riders in a CURRENT Battle in one screen and then in another screen below show the same two riders 5min ago battling
It's certainly not Michael Jackson bad, which is good. It's bad, as in horrible.
Suggestion.
Start by getting rid of Bondo TV, and work from there.
Pit Row
That bozo seems to be permanently entrenched.
However, I don't think the broadcast is any worse than years before. It's the same stupid stuff happening over and over. Most notably the cut-aways when racing is happening or missing some major event even ie: a pass.
For crying out loud....dump Screeetch. She gets worse every year.
Or better yet, use it more appropriately!
If you want to watch the leader cross the finish line by himself perfect, but use the other half to watch the battle for the 9th position.
If 2 guys are battling back and forth leave them on 1 screen, and have your stupid puff piece interview, or instant replay on the other.
But most importantly, keep the racing on the screen when they are racing!
Instant replays, rider interviews, and pit crew interviews, can all be done on a small secondary screen, while racing is going on. Or even the bottom of the timing box on the left with just a picture of who is speaking.
I'm tired of watching a couple tiny screens on my big flat screen. I want the damn thing filled with one camera.
This is what we get when the broadcast is sponsor driven.
Pitch the drone into the trash.
Remember this:
Ralph,
Eli is on the green bike!
Justin is on the red bike!
Ricky,
The ruts are getting rutty......
no split screens during any racing.......show the battles....who cares about guys pounding laps by themselves.....
The problem i see is that its been mostly the same complaints over and over for years now. It isnt really getting any better. They need to just listen and fix the current complaints. I dont look at the broadcast the same way as some of you picking it apart, but I notice after I come here and read about it
. Thats not to say i haven't raised an eyebrow or busted out an audible wtf at some of the things Ricky says, or, tried to look at the riders splits and blurted out, I dont give a fuck about what their fastest lap was from 11 minutes ago when the track was faster. With Ricky though, he was a great racer, obviously, and i've never been vocal about this, but its time to hit the road. Things can be taught and learned, and for Ricky there was improvements, but the clock has run out, there are currently and were better options unfortunately. He just isnt, and will never be good at this, and thats okay, you cant be good at everything, NBC and him just need to figure that out.
When tv crew members go on a podcast and say they are doing awesome and it can’t be improved upon, I’m afraid any suggestion posted here is just going to go in one ear and out the other. It’s amazing how out of touch Weege can be when it comes to the broadcast, he seems so down to earth on most other topics. I just don’t understand the thought process…
He likes his paychecks and tows the company line accordingly.
Either get rid of picture in picture or remove the leader board when you go to it.
Go back to next day edited race coverage. Why does it have to be live...seems like we could get better content if they sat down and edited all the boring stuff out? I always looked forward to the race when it came to my city because that was the only time it was live so why not go back to that?
