Serious question. How much of a table has to be dug out for it to become a double? If the center of the table is 1 ft lower than the takeoff and landing is that a double? If not how much lower must it be?

This is kind of crazy. Can't anyone just say, "it's a triple with a distance of a quad?". That seems like it settles everything super easy. For instance, I've jumped table tops that were the length of a double, triple and then some that could have had a quad length. Still a table top. For another instance, people jump into whoops. Are those names changed to, doubles or quads etc? Nope, still whoops. This conversation is pretty dumb.
