It was pretty darn close to a bike length. 4/5 of a bike length would be more accurate. You can hate him all you, you can post as many shitty photos later down the start straight as you want, but he still got the jump and was close to a bike length ahead, giving him control and the right to do what he wanted in the first corner.

I saw and video'd it just fine from section 330. He had almost a full bike length. 4/5 maybe.
Then he fvcking turned right and dove for the white line. It was a stupid move, even tho he had the position (right?) to make it. With a smooth, wider arc he'd have been just fine in 2nd or 3rd. He'd have still dropped anchor outside the top 5 because he rode the whole moto like a squid, and caused problems for others all over the track.
As I watched live it looked as though Hunter may not have seen him coming. That clearly was not the case as he was there the whole time. I still stand by chickenshit move. But hey, the guy was going for a heat race win.
