Based on what I've read, you have to change your geo location - the pulp fantasy site/app does not base your location off your VPN (unfortunately). There is a work around for this if you have a iPhone and a Mac (see reddit thread link below). The app that supposedly works (to change your location) is called xcode. I have not done this myself, as I don't have a Mac.
Personally, I've downloaded a VPN service and a GPS emulator phone app. I was able to verify that my location for VPN and GPS was showing I was in a applicable/playable state, but still couldn't get in. This can only be because, Pulp has code within the site/app that can see passed the geo emulator phone app (location required apps tend to have this code). I've given up at this point because I don't have a laptop to try things on.

I like all the people involved with Pulp Fantasy, but this could ultimately be the death blow. As Perebijnos said on the Reaction podcast, it is a business and they don't run it just for fun. One has to think the user base will be cut in half when we factor in internationals, and if sign ups can't be done simply by using a VPN then most people aren't going through the hassle of using xcode to change their geographic location.
Thank you for saving me the trouble. I was going to try vpn. Crazy that a simple fantasy league is getting squeezed by the states. No disrespect on simple, just in a country wide view this seems petty.
Still not 100% ready, but looks like there have been some changes. Free to play for round 1 and there is a drop round.

They wanna make money on it, plane and simple. I understand wanting to make money but taking the free play option out is a kick in the nuts. I believe there’s another way they could have taken to make money on this but I’m sure salesman Paul talked them into a quick money move. And pay more money for a VPN, plus dues to enter SX fantasy league, plus Peacock to watch races, plus ante for bets with buddies in league only to MAYBE win some grips. Should I go one?

Sucks how much hate they’re getting..some people just don’t understand the logistics behind it..wish they’d read into it and listen to the pod they released instead of typing away on instagram.
I mentioned there's other ways to maybe keep free play open and make money... with free play open I was able to join the big money league and buy tickets for the raffle.. Create a league that was 100$, change it to 120-150, take the 20-50$ a person to pay the employees. without free play for others less money coming in if you ask me.

It's disgusting how entitled you and others sound on this. Honestly this is why some places charge a cover or a small nominal fee for whatever it is they're offering. It filters out the soul sucking leeches who want everything handed to them for free then complain the loudest.
There are apps out there that you can change you location with. GPS Emulator is an example.

Wrong. Without free play they’re actual saving money. The whole donation model would essentially mean they have to setup two separate games. Free play was something they didn’t want to do initially because it’s essentially the same amount of work for nothing. I think they’re just fine without the moochers.

A basic question (have not done this since a budget-based league on MT).
You have to pick one rider designated All Star in each class; got it. Cannot pick that same rider the next week; got it.
Putting aside strategy of trying to hit big points on high handicaps, what wasn't clear to me is whether you could pick all All Stars for your four riders (knowing you can't use any of those four the next week). In other words, can you only pick one All Star each week?
To answer your question, yes you could pick 8 all stars but picking more then one each race is not a strategy you want to use, in my opinion.
