Good point. My bad, I should have simply said the word "change". My point (all though admittedly poorly worded) is that change is inevitable for all of us, in all aspects of our lives. Just like death, it is a given. I use to add the word taxes but I was wrong, people seem to get away with out paying taxes...ha! Good come back!

One thing I have learned in 50 years of racing MX is that if I see something new and think its ugly then I know I will like it down the road.   for example gators, upside down forks, Bell moto 3, white YZs ( OK I still hate white YZs ) but you get the picture. 

This isn't a new concept but it is still a bad one in my opinion. Driving suits are 1 piece for fire protection. Road racing leathers are one piece for abrasion protection while skidding across the racing surface. Not positive why cycling uses bibs but I'd guest it has to do with butt crack protection (joke).

Cycling uses bibs because if you wear standard cycling shorts they have to be stupidly tight around your waist to stay in place while riding.  It's restrictive and uncomfortable.   And yes, you may get massive plumbers crack when leaned over in an aero tuck.   Bibs just stay in place much better without being tight around the waist and are more comfortable.

The issue I see with an MX 1-piece is as stated above, many moto dudes do not have a physique that lends well to it.  Even if you are in shape, constraining both your upper and lower body to 1 garment limits your sizing options.  Anyone who has ever bought road race leathers, snowmobile suit, or even a carhartt work suit etc realizes this.  

Some photos of Alpinestars testing their one-piece suit a few years back. Interesting to see the idea is making a comeback again.

 A bib style pant might actually be really cool and more comfortable especially for off road guys that have 2+ hour long races. I think a separate jersey makes more sense than a one piece full suit for normal people because it’s so easy to tear up a jersey sleeve or something.  Unless the one piece full suit would be cheaper than a normal pant/jersey combo which we all know it wouldn’t. 

I have to be able to adjust my nuts multiple times during a ride. 

Pre race poops would be challenging.

That's what I make my pants into .a bib style.  Then put a normal Jersey over it . I have a hernia.  And that's the reason I started making my own.  Its so much better than a normal pants.  You don't feel it at all on your stomach when u lean forward.   cycling shorts been like this ages.  Its just a far more comfortable design 

Seems like it would be better.  With mx it better be aesthetically pleasing or it will fail. 

Problem solved.  This is also a PR move from NASA.  I believe they are in talks to have the Monster girls wear them as a sponsor.

I remember that in the 80s along with boot gators that O'mara wore. I took to wearing oversize overalls (cheaper) in practice but some guys wore those JT suits. 

Wore some light weight Fly racing snowmobile bibs during a winter race, those thing felt amazing! Bet this works pretty good!

You make some really good points. The idea of not feeling the waist of the pants sounds pretty nice.

It ,feels like you are not wearing anything.  It's so much more comfortable.  As I said with me it was more necessary as anything tight against my stomach and I end up getting sick because of the hernia. I do think it would be more comfortable for everyone tho .also i think that anyone who has any sort of a belly will much rather it.  I ve made mine a few different ways . First one was front way in . Now I ve made a side entry one and u can adjust it at the shoulder s. Then just throw on a Jersey over it.  I have thought of adding a zip to it . But tbh it doesn't bother me too much.  Takes a second to open it pull it down  a little. Put it back on. 

My buddy has a Hank Hill ass where his pants slide down his ass over a moto. 

I am all in favor of the onesie.

In cycling, skinsuits and the newer versions that are shorts and a jersey sewn together are both cheaper than buying shorts and jersey separately.

Wow that Looks stupid. Bad enough the riders wear the under the jersey chest protector. It makes them look like a dead guy or a 91 500 gp lame o jerk with his elbows at his hips. 

Flash back to the 80s. I still have the green/blue one (Kawasaki). Don't know how to show pic. Surprised it's still usable and in pretty good condition after all these years. I only wore it over my regular gear in muddy practice before race if needed. My brother has the yellow/blue one.

Instagram post says you step through the neck and slide it all the way on.  Fuuuck that.

I kinda feel like I'm looking at that RJ thinker add when I look at that pic.  I still like the idea of it. 

I was thinking , it seems like most riders are OK with pants being tight. But fewer want a painted on looking jersey. So maybe a bib liner , or bib with Velcro or magnets to keep the jersey inplace might be more popular with the average Dad bod Vet rider.

I'm interested in seeing more of that gear though. And hearing more about the story behind it. As it is, I know my customer base would not be lining up for it in large numbers. But like anything that is new and truly has a chance of changing the sport in a dramatic way, not everybody will like it at first. I hope that somebody gets an interview with Craig and somebody at Fox that had a part in the development.

Will Kenny be wearing that style gear too?? Or Just Craig?   

Okay, I didn't think gear could get any tighter than Barcia's but there it is... And why is it opaque?

Glad I buy lots of gear. Need to up my game though as in if this onesie stuff takes over I’ll have a stash of OG gear to pull from.

Man I wouldn’t feel confortable showing up to the track in a one-piece like this. I know you’re not showing anymore skin than with the normal pants ans jersey set-up, but I would feel naked and vulnerable 😂. It seems like the material is so fragile, it would take nothing to tear it and end up butt naked in the middle of the track.

I understand the utility of the concept, so maybe like a pair of pants that stay in place with shoulder strap like overalls instead of a buckle and that you then put a jersey over it would still be as effective but look a little better? Maybe not, but  I just can’t picture myself wearing this at the track, at least for now!
