I think they’re awesome. It’s a good release for everyone involved. Teams that just punch their 40 hours every week might deal with less BS, long days, and just general stress… but they probably won’t ever experience a championship. 

Hard work pays off. It takes a village of folks who put the work in required to be at that caliber. By the end of the season I’m sure a good amount of folks in that position are just like “F this damn bike! 😂” which probably fuels some of these celebrations if I had to guess.

That all said… It’s wasteful and has shitty environmental impacts, could be deemed irresponsible and in poor taste, could lead to damaging the rides and rigs of other teams in the vicinity if it gets super out of hand like Prado’s. I think the teams ought to start facilitating for this sort of thing if they aren’t going to outright quash it.

Earnhardt never did victory burn outs because he respected his machine.

It's like winning a horse race and then beating your horse to death after the race. So dumb and wrong.

That engine was probably going to get torn apart anyways after 6 days of racing. Idk its just mechanical things and a release after all the hard work they put in🤷 if ktm didnt like it they would probably put a stop to it.

Pretty childish.  Going to see F1 drivers destroy equipment?   Rally drivers?  Just for entertainment?

It's not like that at all . 

It definitely depends on the scale of the victory, and the level of the team (privateer, factory).  (IMO).

I can't even watch the video. I find it disrespectful. Your bike has a soul. A mechanical soul but a sole nonetheless. 

If the team doesn’t give a shit, why should you? It’s their property, they can do what they want with it. 

Someone should do that next year after an LCQ win.

Its a mechanical piece of hardware. It can be rebuilt, and actually, would be rebuilt anyway. Anybody really giving a fuck about this needs help. 

I take care of my bike and if I do a good job, it takes care of me, so from my blue-collar owner/operator perspective, these types of celebrations feel like they're asking for a lock-up on the face of a jump.

Not a fan of them.  I don’t care who is paying for it, it shows a complete lack of respect for the equipment that carried him to a victory. 

I think holding the bike on the rev limiter to use it as some sort of overpriced noise maker is idiotic, always have. So you can imagine how I feel about a rider who purposely loops  his bike out in celebration, or worse yet, just dogs the hell out of it until it blows up

I never understood why destroying nice motorcycles is enjoyable, but whatever. I guess anybody that puts that much time into working on bikes deserves it.

Head , cams , valve train , crank works, cylinder, piston, oil pump and bearing were all going in the trash anyway. Enjoy the moment imo.

considering how much of my life revolves around saving up for a new bike every couple years I find them a bit off putting. its hard to see factory riders who has everyones dream of having the very best equipnt given to them just totally trash their equip. i guess its just different when you have to buy it.

i feel like the brands are a little insensitive to the strain it is on some families to purchase their products year after year.

F1 drivers do a buch of big smoky donuts at the end of the season.

It’s all in your upbringing…. Blue collar, scrimping & saving all your life..can’t relate… rich kids that never had to wear Sneakers with holes in them… it’s great….if team owner or whoever paying the bills ok with it, then all good …. Unless you were one of the KTm customers waiting on b/ordered parts all summer😂

I definitely don’t like blowing bikes up , not necessary and stupid. 

If I do it it’s stupid.  For a top team who budgets in consumables, it makes no difference.  Either way, those parts are coming off the engine/bike.
