I ordered some stuff a few months ago. I thought they did Great. Real nice girl even gave me 10 or 20% off. She rides also. I probably told her it was for The DBP Tara Gieger replica spec engine. My stuff I think came from 2 different areas in the country. 1 delivery then another emails when shipped,Great job. I had 2 fractured bones in my wrist so I needed a week to heal & said I wasn’t in a hurry to get the parts. They had a PC alum throttle tube, very rare. This is for a 2004 cr125. Ps this time of yr shipping is Very busy, expect delays.
I order from both RMATV and Motosport. Never had an issue with either one.
Holiday season. It’s like this every year, usually starts right after Halloween.
Unfortunately, this is true, but, you got companies like Amazon, and eBay, and others pushing 'free shipping'. Of course, free shipping just doesn't exist, it's built into the sale price, every time. To be competitive, traders have to find the cheapest options, Couriers are battling to reduce costs, labor is the biggest cost. Lowest possible salaries, and contract labor, of course will have a flow on effect.

Not as glamourous as it seems. Those fkers work their ass off working 10 plus hour days shuffling heavy packages and driving non stop. Regarding MS I've had good luck with them. Couple of OEM stuff not in stock but not their fault as they are 24' parts.
Nobody has hands big enough to hold Rocky Mountains balls. They are top of the totem pole.
Been an RM customer for many, many years. Slavens can be good, and AOMC has also always been top notch for me. Plus my local dealer gives me a great discount on OEM parts so I order there too, although I usually have to wait for it to come in.
Motosport.com was bought by Backcountry.com, which in turn was later acquired by Wal-Mart.
Surprised to hear of delivery problems, as Wal-Mart is the expert at logistics.
Remember when RMATV had points and didn't use OnTrac? They used to get at least $300-$500 out of every paycheck. Ahhh the good ol' days. Then they decided to do shrinkflation things long before shrinkflation was hip, but the owners probably got tired of eating beans and rice and you gotta do what you gotta do.
Motosport + DHL = RMATV MC
Ordered an in-stock item Monday morning and no movement until today on DHL's part. Wanting the item for this weekends race but now won't happen. I took the bait with their 1 day only free shipping - no minimum offer. I called CS and nothing they can do other than send me another after I pay for expedited shipping plus return shipping after the late one arrives. I would've hoped for a 1 time goodwill...
I've had similar experiences with other vendors using DHL (been a while).
RMATV MC would've delivered Thursday (tomorrow) at the latest.
As long as Motosport is partnered with DHL, buyer beware I guess.
I've spent 10's of thousand$ with both over the last couple years and have not had a single order go awry. About 30 orders with RMATV and 20 orders with Motosport.
Guess I'm just really lucky?
Rocky Mt. has different warehouse location across the country. They ship from which one has it in stock and closest. They do pretty good. Chap Moto does pretty good too. I used to buy from Motorsport. Never really had any, problems, just Rocky Mt is spot on, ships quick and it gets here quick. I had a return, asked the girl at Rocky Mt whey they use fedx. She said they have less problems with Fedx and they are faster and cheaper. She said Fedx has really stepped up,their game last few years.
I’ve ordered from both MS and RMATV, I was surprised to see that RMATV has Shoei Evos for 40 bucks above MSRP… what the heck is up with that?
Typical for today, not typical for ten years ago.
The question is simple; why are they worse today than yesterday? We all know the challenges of making mistakes, system issues, vendor issues. etc. etc. etc., those have all been challenges since forever. The question is, why are they worse. Why are there more mistakes, worse systems, worse everything. This is about being worse than a reference point of ten years ago, not about pretending today is the first day of operations and oh look at all these challenges. Moto people people aren't going to let moto retailers turn into effing Comcast without talking *A LOT* of shit, just not gonna happen.
Ive spent thousands at Rocky Mtn since making my last post. They're still kicking ass and you're still suffering buying from motosport lmao. Ridiculous.
I ordered a new shoei vfx evo from RMATV last friday at 4pm, it was on my door step by 1pm saturday…. 22 hour free shipping is pretty effing sweet!
Motosport shipping is the most hit or miss thing since sliced bread.
I order stuff from Motorsport online……they send it to me. Sometimes I get it quick, sometimes not as quick but I always get it. When I call they answer the phone and talk to me. It’s really not all that hard.
Pit Row
Motosport.com has gone down hill for sure. But that's a low blow comparing it to Comcast. 🤣
Last year I had major shipping issues with Motosport where they didn't care to safely package any of my parts. Multiple orders came without any sort of packing material and just thrown in a box and sent on their way. Half the time the box was falling apart because it wasn't taped up properly. I ordered some expensive Braking Bat-fly rotors for my 450 and those were just thrown in a big box with one little balloon pack. The disk ended up coming out of its package and slipped under the cardboard almost coming out of the package during shipment. You'll find that parts don't ship from Motosport anymore, they come from Backcountry and I think that in itself is where the problem lies. Since then I have only ordered from Rocky Mountain or Chaparral Motorsports and my orders come safely packaged with no damage. I think another user on here ordered complete bottom end parts from Motosport and experienced similar where they didn't even put any packing in the box allowing his new OEM crank to just flop around during shipping. Never had issues in the past, but since they have been bought out I don't plan on ordering from them ever again. Also, I noticed their OEM parts are more expensive than Rocky Mountain. So there's that too...
Distribution taken over by a bigger entity, those warehouse employees care less about the industry and are paid less thus improper care of packages happens and overall care of orders/returns getting processed takes a hit. I’ve been a part of companies where this has happened before and it’s not pretty. Customer service representatives (or in Motosport’s case, “gearheads”) take all the blame when there is literally nothing they can do. Really terrible situation all around.
Motosport tends to have a better selection of certain items than RM. RM has pushed a lot of their tusk products and it seems they’ve kicked other brands off the shelf to make space for the house brand. As a personal hangup, I always find it a little irritating that the biggest online retailer for dirt bike parts put ATV first in its name. Fucking heresy.
Having said that, I usually order from RM first for common items and go to motosport for bigger projects that I’m planning out and don’t need right away.
I will say I have not had any problems with Motosport so I have no comments for that. I do completely agree with your question and sentiments though, it is a valid question and is not really directed at any retailer. Today we have many layers of automation, we have pin-point accurate GPS, we have more efficient software, distribution vehicles have been improved for efficiency, we have all of the tools in the world to improve on this, yet things have just gotten worse. My only guess, the quality and care of the workforce has gone downhill. People have lost sight of being fortunate to have their job, entitlement and the don't give a shit attitude has taken over. It would suck to be in lower-level management, honestly in any company about now.
Motosport was great for me when it was in Memphis, but not as good now. I pretty much get all my stuff from RM since my local dealer sold out.
Was a good way to loose a life long customer.
I am the downvote, not at you, but that is ridiculous packaging! You almost would want to second guess the integrity of your crank with how that box looks.
Somewhere at that company is a decision maker that “just doesn’t get it”.
To be honest. I can agree.
I can echo this. Ordered a gear set from RM had it in less than 2 days. Their shipping is unbeatable.
Where did the motosport employee go who posted the "feel sorry for us and be nice to us even when we suck" post go? Deleted that woke BS I see.
