Excellent mother.
I have a '72 SL. It survived all 3 kids... barely.
Memories. This isn't dissimilar to the track in my back garden at Beckrow, Mildenhall back in the '70's. My 400 Yam loved to eat that beautiful soil. Looks like that Maico had an appetite as well.

Lmao...brave words Cotton.
Wheelie contest at Santa Fe Speedway near Chicago.
Cool!
You mention this being where the 5 curves by Dana Point. If this is the spot that was on the east side of the 5 and you could get a good view of the ocean when on the bluff area...I've also ridden there a number of times. Kids in the area call it "nofees" and I didn't realize what that meant just hearing the name. Somebody had to tell me that Nofees just meant you could ride there and not pay a track fee
Of course...the question is...did you save it?
Track was Hutton Conyers nr Ripon North Yorkshire. Won the Yorkshire Grand National there in 1978.
That Maico 440cc was the fastest best handling bike I had!
I could turn under your Maico but your magic suspension couldn't be beat. Don't think I ever beat a 440.
Are you familiar with a spot called, Jackrabbit? It was off the 405. Right across the freeway from where the Goodyear Blimp docks in Carson.
Inspired by The King
He was 60ft up in the air dude
1972 ish QA 50. Photo was taken in 1993. This exact motorcycle was the same bike as my mom’s first motorcycle.
I like the picture but why do you lie?
Pit Row
1975 RM125 Directly across the street of my childhood home overlooking Glendale California where the 2 freeway goes through G Hill. Those were Good Times.
WoW I don't remember Taco Mini bikes being that trick with suspension!
But actually in reality the one I drooled over as a kid was a Taco 22 it was a rigid frame.
Remember the brake system--the paddle against the rear tire!
Sorry for your loss Pro. Life deals us some hard lessons. Awesome pics...
Oldest I have in this device….
3 years old, my first day on my first ever bike a Honda QR50. I will definitely buy one someday and restore it. Dad put on support wheels for the first few rides because i couldn't even bicycle yet
'84 RM, those Fox's where decent boots. The forefather of what we have today.
Yes! Loved that 84RM250! Practice track off exit 18 of the Northway in Glens Falls NY…around 85-86, I bought the bike used off a friend of mine. My brother in law took the photo, he had an 84 PE 175, we had a blast that summer, he had a convertible 69 Chevelle with a 3 rail trailer, after we were done riding, we drank many Budweisers 😂
You are a brave man posting a pic with training wheels.
That is very cool.
Of course!
I won $100 that night for winning the contest. I went 1-1/2 laps around the 1/2 mile oval. Easy money!
I'm from Niles, Michigan the same home town of my friend, Doug Domokos!
