I do agree that Glen Helen needs to be back on the Calender. Sadly the two parties cannot work together.

No, fans are not a com[ponent of where a National is held. They'd (not saying who "They" are) would have a National in a Costco parking lot if the promoter paid the fee. IMO. Anyway the Costco parking lot would be smoother and make "better racing" for Television.

They never owned the land. It was leased and the lease expired. I’m sure somebody else remembers the details better than me but from what I remember Honda of Houston had the lease and was running it but lost interest and sold the remainder of the lease to somebody else. That person didn’t run things very well so a few years later when the lease expired, the owner of the land chose to just turn the track into a hunting lease which is what the rest of the land always was anyways.
Both Whitney and Mossier Valley were absolute treasures here in Texas that got taken away from us.
As I recall, it was time for Glen Helen to renew their contract. MX Sports came to them with the exact same contract and, for whatever reason, GH said no.
Not sure why the same contract was okay in 2018, but not 2019.

My whole point is with all the threads in this joint that I just roll my eyes at, I think it is no secret that a good amount of guys here on the VitalMx are SoCal guys and Glen Helen is popular track in SoCal, so it is going to have more total interest than "Chicken Licks Raceway in Podunk USA.

Maybe I can be more lucent on my perspective on this discussion. I'm not a big fan of any moto discussion having a passively aggressive undertone post in them.
Sully, FTE, Great Ape and Boomslang are ALL long time, well respected posters in here and I would much rather read their well thought out posts on the subject, than a dismissive post on a thread.

Davey and MX sports wanted glen Helen to make facility improvements bud said he would only make those silly improvements if he could spread the cost out over a number of years and he wanted a long-term contract MX sports said they would not give him a long-term contract so bud told them to pound sand. plus, they hate each other.
