6/11/2026 12:46pm Appreciate the feedback! That is correct both cams do rotate freely and smoothly with out the timing chain and caps torqued to spec. I did not measure the bore, though the cylinder crosshatch still looks close to how a new one would look

2/7/2026 6:03pm I just came here to say that I figured it out in case it may help anybody in the future. It was the kill switch! Unplugged it and it started right up. Had a little moisture in it and dried it out and works fine now. Thank you!

Half the price of tech 10s goes toward funding vital ads and giving the pros enough free boots to wear a new pair every race. Gaerne is a lower volume manufacturer that makes boots in Italy and has a reasonable marketing budget. It’s a better company making a better product. SG22

1/14/2025 2:08pm 23 YZ450 75 hours only replaced 2 clutches. 24 Stark 85 hours only tires and one set of chain / sprockets. I used to sell around 60-70 hours. I’m going to just rebuild and rack up hours for a change.

'18 YZ450 443 hours and counting. I got it used with ~270 hours and over time replaced everything except: Frame, subframe, swingarm triple clamps, electrical system, most of the hardware, and engine cases.

See my comment above. I did this exact thing and it will screw you when you go to sell the bike as you'll be required to backpay the past registration, plus fines and penalties on top of it all. The workaround is to get insurance for the month and then pay the suspension a few days later. Once done, file a planned non-op. You can do it all online.
