I would like to see this format:
An American track
Saturday: MXGP and MX2 qualifying, practice for AMA riders to get even track time
Sunday: MXGP and MX2 race 1, AMA 250 and 450 race 1, then the top 20 of both MXGP and 450 classes race together for race 2, and the top 20 from MX2 and 250 race together for race 2. Overall winner is the points tallied from both moto’s.
This allows everyone to keep their same format from the different series, only adding an extra practice for the AMA series on the Saturday

Won't happen until both series decide to have the same technical and sporting regulations, AMA teams won't be happy if they have to run GP fuel for a points paying race, or how about yellow flags? Yellow flags rule aren't the same in MXGP.
They should do like the WEC and IMSA used to do in Sebring, race the Sebring 1000Km in Saturday (WEC Race) and Sebring 12h on Sunday (IMSA Race), that would be the most realistic scenario although there would be only 15 guys racing in the MXGP because riders would prefer to race in the AMA series to get that $$$
It sounds like it would be an invite for the top 20 in each class per organization. I don't think it would be twice the number. Would they be subsidizing the privateers in the top 20 or at least a guaranteed payout to help cover travel expenses, if it's actually overseas? I would love to see a race at Namur, but I just don't see how they can do it without disrupting the overall points for both series. A one-off race would detract from the MXON, so I don't see them doing that. Interesting concept, I guess we'll see.
What's the point if they're not gonna race each other?
I think it will face the same challenges of getting top riders from the US to go to Europe.
Perhaps the financials that were going to be split between Moto Racing, Feld Entertainment and MX Sports Pro Racing could work out to fund top riders that would work, like Kenny and WSX.
This concept has the potential to be huge, it’s a wonder why it hasn’t happened already. Makes you wonder if it’s the factory top brass putting the brakes on rather then the promoters.
So why not hold two combined rounds, one at mxgp & one AMA.
But to make it more interesting, at the end of the season give the top 20 in each series a vote on which venue they home combined is run at.
Start creating a bit of extra rivalries, spice things up a bit. Can have a overal combined champ & series winner.
Different sport I know but mx could take a leaf out of boxing’s book when it comes to generating interest & sales. Sport needs a story, needs a build up & most of all It needs a rivalry.
Let’s hope the industry one day wakes up to this missed opportunity.
I want to clarify a couple of points.
- There have been meetings about this race and, as mentioned in the feature, it was initially rumored to be run in 2024.
- It would be one race and feature in the current Pro Motocross/MXGP calendars – it would definitely be in the USA.
Bonus point: The MXGP podcast that I do with Adam Wheeler on Vital is the best place to stay on top of news like this.
It would be much better with one race here and one race there . Otherwise why bother ?
That will never happen, because this would effectively fill the need for a successful USGP.
There's no need/demand for a European Pro Motocross round (nor would it make sense).
It makes sense from a fair competition stand point.
Get a global sponser to support a combined winner, if they made the euro round the final round of AMA season for top 20 only, then would be ideal nations prep for the AMA guys.

I agree, rounds on each side of the world are needed to provide equity, but it’s also plain to see that’s not what they’re talking about here. It’s basically a MXGP round in the US that’ll also count towards AMA National points.
It’s a compromise but hey it’s better than nothing.
So the MXGP schedule has "TBA" for June 15-16, and the AMA schedule has High Point on June 15. Are we thinking that's the potential race?
I have yet to see an actual schedule concept for said race. Are they thinking just 1 race or multiple? I say do 4 or 5 races.
What do you guys think:
-MXGP and AMA Motocross agree to end their seasons the last weekend in August.
-Top 30 from each championship get invites to the "WORLDS" events.
-Top 40 fastest combined qualify like AMA Motocross with fast lap times, not a 2 day format. Just have longer practices starting at 8am.
-2 moto format, 30 mins + 2 laps Motocross.
-2 races in USA, 2 abroad.
-Make 1 race a supercross...maybe. 20+1.

The explanation of the concept from Lewis is literally a few posts above his....but then again maybe I expect too much from someone that started a thread and called Stanton a C rider and claimed he could ride better, doubled and tripled down after getting his ass handed to him for his take and then when he got so much flak he deleted the thread Sloan style....

Where are we with the USA? Is there any progress on a possible return of a US GP that would include an AMA event?
“Relationships have been complicated for a long time. And for the past six or seven years, we've been communicating a lot. We've talked about a lot of things. The introduction of the MX des Nations at Ironman is a positive development because it's done in direct collaboration with MX Sports and Feld. We have a shared contract, so it's a form of advanced collaboration. We've signed for 2025 and 2028. If it goes well, there will be a next step to get closer to a GP/AMA. It was my father's dream and it remains the dream of many fans: a race in June that's a GP and an AMA event at the same time. It would be the biggest race in history with the top 20 US and MXGP.”
But there is no prospect before 2028 or 2029!

As long as we get Paul Malin to announce the race and have MXGP production crew broadcast it we all win!!
