I didn't know him but he was a solid dude IMHO. My favorite Alessi, Ride On Bro.

Rode with him and his brother at the track in Madera, good people.

I only raced nationals one season and it happened to be 2003 which was the year the Alessi's traveled the country hitting all the national tracks to prepare for 2004 when they planned to go pro. I saw them a good bit that year, they smoked everyone on those amateur days. I remember being blown away by the dedication they had to ride around the country in that SUV/Trailer and make that work. It definitely is a very close knit family dynamic. They are an institution as far as motocross families go... God speed Jeff.

RIP 801 and prayers to the Alessi family. I remember racing with the Alessi brothers back in the early 2000s at several CMA races, from Santa Maria to Madera. Amazingly talented pair and Jeff was such a character! Ride In Peace, Jeff!

RIP . My  Deepest sympathy to the family.  I thought Jeff was one of the more decent people on here.  I,ll miss him for sure.  It must have been awesome racing that modded cr125 .  Probably a DBP double boost port.

My thoughts go out to the family, this has to be unbelievably tough.

Only interacted with Jeff on a couple occasions, he was always super cool to me.

My prayers go out to the Alessi family.  They have always been core moto people who just love the sport, and this is a sad day for the motocross community.  I was able to watch both Jeff and Mike race, and both were very gifted on a bike.  Rest in peace, Jeff.

Whenever I hear Jeff's name, I always think of a video from about 2013 or so of a race he did in Jamaica (I think) on a really janky, super narrow track with spectators standing on the track, and Jeff was still hauling balls.  Ride in Peace, Jeff.

I remember that!  The fans were insane. I'm not sure they thought that through. RIP Jeff.

Hey there MaxPower, the reason 99% of people on this forum are not asking about Jeff’s cause of death is because at this point respect is of the utmost importance. The answer you seek will be coming soon enough. Your post almost sounds as if you suspect something sinister. I hope not. Respect.

If you read any of the instagram posts about Jeff passing theyre already full to the gills with ppl going balls deep on the conspiracy theories. Its pretty sad tbh. Nobody knows exactly what caused it yet, so for ppl to be using his death to try to advance your own ideological agenda is soo gross.

Exactly. Someone just lost a son, brother, etc… and people are immediately like, “hmmm how I can I spin this so it supports my bullshit ideas about vaccines or whatever.” Get fucked losers.

Well how about a positive post.  I was at Elsinore in about 98 and they had a vet ish track in the back but they did some racing on it. I was out there and there were these 2 table tops so far apart it never occurred to me you could jump them.  Then I see a guy jump the highest and furthest I had seen at that time.  I went over and sat at the jump and watched Jeff send it 4 laps in a row.  He was young and it was incredible.

RIP Jeff, you were a great moto brother, you will be missed greatly and my condolences to your family. I can't image how hard this is.

I always enjoyed Jeff's insight and posting here on Vital.

To those who would disparage, understand that we all make mistakes.

RIP Jeff, one funny memory I have of Jeff is at Glen Helen from like ‘99 when we were kids riding bicycles. He found a double and told me to go watch him hit it and he went over the bars pretty hard lol got up saying don’t saying anything to his dad hahaha

Gone too soon man, godspeed Jeff. Prayers and condolences to Tony, Kim, and Mike for their loss, couldn’t imagine what they’re going thru.

I never had any interaction with Jeff (I’m mostly a lurker). But I admired how he loved Moto so much that he would still come here and interact with everyone. He knew he was going to have haters and people bring up the past, but still came around for those who wanted to actually bench race. Pretty cool! Rip Jeff. Prayers for the Alessi fam.

I interviewed Jeff circa 2005 for a local paper, which was repurposed in Racer X, and he was a typical young pro eager to make money in the night show, and I say that in the best way with all respect: while giving me his best canned PR replies, thinking of his sponsors, event organizer, etc., he was eyeing the track wanting one more practice. He asked "do you think there's time to get a few more laps in?"

"Sure," I said looking down at my tape recorder, "I think the big bike practice...." and that's when Jeff rolls out and puts in a heater. Just one. An amazing smooth brutally fast lap. The event organizer flagged him off because that lap was during the mini bike practice, hahaha!! He landed this tricky table to small single that only a few regional pros could, and did it while timing it to make sure no kids were anywhere near his trajectory.

I'm still at his truck when he quietly parks the bike and shrugs "worth a shot."

That's the one! Thanks for posting. I did a half-assed search before I made my post but couldn't find it. The whole thing was just as janky as I remember.

My only encounter was at a Loretta quali, or a big race close to the LL's.

Anyway,  I had to black flag them out of an A big bick practice. I didn't want to, but rules are rules.

Never got any grief from dad, they just exited the track.
