Supposedly the production bike will be at the race this weekend according to the MEM pod. ML mentioned an embargo earlier in one of these threads so I wonder if all the media outlets have the info and everything ready for the official posts and announcements this weekend as well..

Geez this thread really ramped up the stupid....

Lot of posts to just scroll on past.

Would be cool if the production version was released this weekend at the race.     Please make it BRG....

If it opens up more team spots, who cares what it is.

Now we need more manufacturers to join the bandwagon - BMW Ducati

Yeah, let's stick to miserable "it'll be shit" defeatism before you've even seen the bike, like your post..

Yes, lets; at least its on topic. Its still better than reading trite shit about Brexit.

I hope Stark gets something going with the Varg and goes racing at the highest level just as much as the next guy, but that still looks a lot like every other dirt bike out there cosmetically! While it’s electric and works and functions much differently… it’s a dirt bike.

We can talk all you want about how it’s different, much like how many in this thread already have compared the Triumph to other manufacturers, but the point I want to press on here is that… it’s a dirt bike. We are where we are with certain things because they’re all things that work and have been developed/copied by other brands over time.

We wouldn’t have the Stark Varg as we know it today if ICE bikes hadn’t been made for the past 50+ years. It’s another iteration, albeit innovative and really cool. That said, I’m willing to bet the majority of the population on our melting planet would identify it as a dirt bike before they even noticed it was electric!

The Triumph is similar to other dirt bikes on the market, there will be some differences but nothing significant, the Stark Varg's also a dirt bike...

What do you want, a dirt bike that's not a dirt bike?

How about a Jetson ONE!

I think you're helping me make my point or we aren't as far apart as we might think we are. I won't tell you to reread your statement as I'm sure you're aware of what you said.

Dirt bikes are going to resemble dirt bikes due to the nature of what they are. That's what I initially was trying to get at. Much of what we might quantify as innovation isn't observable on the surface, once you crack the cases or... battery? pack? (???) that is where you can see the more noticeable differences between one bike versus another. On the surface they all resemble dirt bikes, even something as innovative as the Stark Varg.

Is it still supposed to be a 50%/50% Jan/July rollout for these bikes?

Ten seconds on Google was all you needed "Bro"..

From a 2012 Parliamentary report after the news emerged: "Ford has announced its intention to close its last UK assembly plant, in Swaythling, Southampton, with the loss of 1 400 jobs. Production of Ford’s Transit Van will switch from Swaythling to Turkey, having been based in Southampton — the company’s last UK vehicle assembly plant — for 40 years.

It has emerged that the European Investment Bank has loaned Ford GBP 80 million to invest in its Turkish plant, as part of its moves to prepare the country’s economy for possible European Union membership."

The EU ended up giving 190million in loans to finance it, and the Bank that supplied the loan was partly UK taxpayer-funded, so we actually supplied the means to cut our own throats. Just one of many such instances of companies given sweeteners to move out.

Yes, you keep on swallowing pro-EU media that Brexit happened because of bigots and ignorance, and not because we were sick of being a cash-cow to be milked dry. You're right about our useless MP's though, but at least we're not dealing with all your useless MP's now too.

A bank loan is not tax payers money, but what ever. It’s standard practice and you were still a member at the time.

I studied in England for a semester and grew fond of the people there. So it’s somewhat painful to see how the cheap propaganda of the Brexiteers brought you in this position. Can you honestly say you’re better of now?

So if the bank is taxpayer funded/received taxpayer financial input, where does the money come from if not the taxpayer..? Quote: "you were a member at...

So if the bank is taxpayer funded/received taxpayer financial input, where does the money come from if not the taxpayer..?

Quote: "you were a member at the time" Yes we were, and this is how we got treated. There are multiple examples similar to the Ford one. People weren't swayed by "propaganda", they voted based on how their lives had been affected, but you won't hear that in the news.

I understand your lack of knowledge because I know most Europeans are unware of just how much we got shafted during our time in the EU, but the truth is we were treated like shit. And since Brexit there's been a vicious campaign by pro-EU media to paint the UK as a backward hellhole, because if the truth was known there would be a queue of other countries wanting to leave.

Are we better off now? Well, it's been difficult but nothing like the horror stories that were predicted, and despite our pro-EU politicians doing their best to derail Brexit (you're right; our politicians are all corrupt), the latest figures from the IMF predict the UK economy to overtake Germanys' this year. If our politicians weren't so bad, things would be even better. I've seen examples of European news articles about the UK and they are waaaay off the mark..

Sorry to drag this on, but are you sure you’re not affected by brexiteer propaganda?

You write that the UK economy will overtake Germany´s according to the IMF. According to their homepage (https://www.imf.org/external/datamapper/NGDPDPC@WEO/OEMDC/ADVEC/WEOWORLD/DEU/AUT) Germany´s GDP per capita is 10% higher and the GDP itself is 30% higher according to the world bank (https://data.worldbank.org/indicator/NY.GDP.MKTP.CD) for 2022/2023. And the UK‘s GDP growth numbers look at least as bad as Germany‘s (https://www.imf.org/external/datamapper/NGDP_RPCH@WEO/OEMDC/ADVEC/WEOWORLD/CAN). Overtaking is hard if you’re not moving.

Where do you get your numbers from?

I don't like the idea of $12k Motocross bikes, but to be fair it's still cheaper or equal to a new KTM plus a KYB conversion, depending which route you go.

Thought this was probably the most relevant thread to ask my question,

Is there not a rule in for the AMA that a certain amount of units have to be sold before you can enter on that bike? I kinda remember people on podcasts talking about it when maybe gasgas or beta got announced but surely Triumph are pushing it close if there is a rule. Its mid September and we don’t even have a proper picture of the bike 😅

200 produced and in the country by March 1st, 400 by June 1st I think?

You can download the regulations from the AMA Supercross website.

I wish, I actually wrote 400 for both. I took my own advice and looked up the regs and had to edit my post for correctness.

It looks like it should be a bit of a weapon for local/amateur 250 races straight from the showroom, with the KYB and relatively KTM-inspired remainder, so I can't see them having any trouble meeting that quota even if they release the thing fairly late, what do you folks think?

More like 48,000 now.

I, for some reason, have no such angst or frustration that some in here seem to be stressing over. I’m actually kinda enjoying the ride…

A new brand launched during a pretty damn difficult period of time…least we forget.
Also…RC back out there doing laps on an actual MX bike. Hewitt & Scuba hiring riders and preparing a 2 rider 250 team for the 2024 U.S. SX-MX-SMX racing schedule. New race shop getting built. New owners of the GA track and new $ invested there. 2 New Race trailers being built. New staff getting hired for going racing…on top of ever increasing US and English staff. Ivan as lead R&D rider…Nice! An upcoming amateur program. The addition of the 450 in 2025. Etc., etc., etc…

I'm stoked.

So who has called their local dealer to get on the list??

Serious question, why? Unless you're a Triumph fan or something. It doesn't look like there's any huge leap in performance, and until they prove themselves racing there won't be any real reason to rush to get one. The novelty factor is there for the first people to get one I guess, but other than that I'm not seeing it.

People like novelty that is for sure. I spoke with a dealer and they are excited about it. Question is sort of what you are saying, will people be into it. I guess it depends on pricing and general, real feedback.

Agreed. My point that likely didn't come across well was that until we get real feedback, there isn't a strong reason to get in line.
