Almost 1000 posts(holy crap) and off the rails for sure.  Valiant try to bring it back.  I’m worried about Craig.  I think they should have borrowed a KX somewhere and brought Masterpool.  He earned it most of what’s left….and no contract conflicts!  If there were an outdoor National on October 6th I would bet a shit ton of money on Ty over Christian.  Colt too for that matter.  Borrow Ben Watson’s practice bike!

I'm gonna bet that what we have was the last best option available.  Craig knows how to ride.  All he needs is a couple of top 10's to keep us near the podium...maybe not on it but near.Grinning

Yea…and at the end of 2022 I would be there with you….but he made zero outdoor nationals and hasn’t raced since round 11 in SX…..where he was mid pack for much of SX.  It’s a lot to ask to fly to France and race the world on their turf, and their format mostly, for your first race back.  If he gets top ten he is the man.

Unsure why anyone cares if the Americans go or not. They don't make the event.

I know you're from down under (which by the way, I just got off of two business calls with good friend and business colleagues: 1 in Australia, and one in NZ), but that photo and what you posted actually affirmed Longbutter's position, not the opposite.  So no irony.

He proudly displays the American flag on his bike and he says...

"people the most wound up about "American pride" aren't even Americans."

that's irony.

Ya, you're still not getting it.  I mean no offense to you either.  I'm tracking with him.  If you know, you know.  You're missing it.

Maybe he's right, non Americans have more "American pride" than Americans, all non Americans should have an American flag on the side of their bike!

Was that flag on there for the 4th of July (or near to it) round?

Or, all the time?

Separate to that, something I liked waaaaaay back when, was the little Country Of The Rider flags you'd see on the HRC bikes radiator shrouds, in the GPs.  Leisk with an OZ one, Thorpe with the Brit, Geboers with the Belgian, etc, etc. It was a neat touch, that didn't seem to raze any hackles / be perceived as 'politically' charged.

Doesn't look it, Boom.

It is a crazy situation, whichever way you look at it. More so than most years.

Is Sef Efrica going? If so, who? Calvin is with The Netherlands, and I'm that ignorant that I can only think of McLeland (sp/ name?).

You actually have to attend the event to beat anyone.

Working from home is not an option.

This thread is really off the rails!  So are we sending AP, RJ and Craig?  When will this be announced?  I am good with that team, could make top 5 if they ride well.  IMO France and Australia are 1A and 1B (give edge to France just because they have 3 top quality riders and being at home), then Belgium (they could surprise), then in no particular order:  NLD, Spain,  Germany, US, etc.  I think Jett will be the fastest dude there.  Would be surprised if he was not top 2 in both his motos.  For 250s I think Hunter or Coenen...  Just spitballing

I agree Masterpool would be an awesome pick, but he needs to get his appendicitis taken care of before the damn thing explodes on him.

There’s still a delay.

I may, or may not, have missed a few bits sorry.

I found it interesting on the pulp show they said Honda was going to send Chase if he wanted to go and even post him an extra week salary if he went. Later in the show they brought up contact issues and such, must be monster/ redbull issues etc cos there didn't seem to be any from Hondas side. Unless ktm didn't want him riding a Honda for that event. Either way it sucks that we don't get the best USA team there

Seems more like it was other contract issues.  ML said earlier in this thread (or maybe one of the other ones) that his Honda contract actually goes through past the MXoN.

What I don't really get is that most of the media/insider guys are saying that Chase was the linchpin and if he could have made others would have followed.

Ask not what your country can do for you, but what YOU can do for your Country . . . Send in the original winning Team USA!!!

Yes, flag was on Jett and Hunter's bikes for Red Bud.

A Japanese company with Australian riders displaying American pride!

I'd  describe it as Respect:  for the Country you are in, plying your trade.

I'm No flag waver, just quietly proud of much of my Country of Birth, whilst always having respect for others - well, the largely Good people that are of other Countries, and, well,  of this Earth.

It's just so - pick a word, so long as it's Not a, or used as a, pejorative - that so often there's drama surrounding  the US MXdN / MXoN team.

Really, I think it might be time to take a page out of the book when in 1981, Dick Miller, Roger Decoster and Others, just went F**k it, and started to organize things, to avoid the 'Money' and Rider availability / interest issue(s). And didn't that work out Magnificently? And, at the same time, for Teams / Manufacturers , The 2 Major Promoters take into account that their very existence, is down to the Market(s) that they are in.

It appears the USA doesn't have a Rider Nomination set up, such as what we have in OZ. That would be a Very useful thing. Have on Record, Riders that Want To Go, if they are qualified.

I never put s**t on a rider that does not want to go, or, just cannot go through various reasons. If they don't want to be there, they are of No Use. If other circumstances prevent them, well, that's how it goes - things are different for everyone. Though, I think a bit of honesty / transparency would be a good thing from some riders.

But, after all of that, I'm aghast at the shemozzle that it has become - well, as it nearly always is. And, of course, most all Teams have their dramas.

Perebijnos' info given on PulpMX was far better than the guessing / accusing by so bloody many, that's for sure. Though, a fair few have not listened / watched it, or taken it in.

I truly, Truly  hope the USA can field a Team.

Yup, South Africa through raffles, donations, selling merch and help from our Federations always manages to send a team.

Here is Team SA for 2023.

I misunderstood, I thought we were discussing support. High profile lawyers and doctors have no support staff, research facilities, offices, transportation, per diem meals, etc.? Perhaps you know more of them than I do. I thought even mid level corporate attorneys had swat teams of paralegals and researchers.
