Jett on the 250 100%, he is the guy that wins it for you , Hunter on a 450 in MXGP and Beaton on the Open bike, he has raced Ernee before and knows Europe and the way things work.
When Germany won at Lommel , Roczen went 5-4 , Schiffer only needed i decent ride and they had it. Herlings would have won both races had he not have crashed.
Same for Belgium, JVH at Teuschental, his 2 rides had to count with Desalle's last race DNF.
Nobody wins it without having a strong 250 guy

Why would you swap the Lawrence brothers onto the other bikes? Hunter is good enough to get a couple of top tens or better on the 250.

For those saying Jett should be on the 250, could you please explain why?
Hunter has delivered top 10s on a 250, against the 450s, every time he’s raced at MXdN, and I think most would say Hunter is in even better form this year.
IMO Hunter 250, Jett 450 are no brainer decisions. The only question being the other 450 rider.

And remember the MX2 class is usually the weakest class, as a lot of smaller nations put their best MX2 rider in the MXGP/Open class for this event. And remember how the Netherlands DOMINATED 2018 at RedBud with Herlings and Coldenhoff winning their classes, and Calvin Vlaanderen only needing a 27th to win (he got a nasty eye-injury). If that happens, the MX2 class gets even less-important...
So really, in conclusion, it just helps to have the best three dudes overall, regardless of class. There certainly isn't a "most important" one."
Some of us do, well us with junior riders, most the kids all know who he is, I have been following his progress though mainly just at LL time each year. A lot of good young Australian talent coming through. Covid was good for MX in this country, there was not much else to do but ride, and a lot of kids started riding!
As for out team, I think Ferris would be the go this year, hard pack track. Evans or Jed would both do a good job as well, but probably on form Ferris would be the pick at the moment.
If it was sand Webster would be the go, though his skills on the harder surfaces are very good these days, but if it was sand, adding him into this mix with the Lawrence brothers would be a no brainer.

Hunter is a strong 250 guy and Jett is possibly the best 450 guy there is right now . It would be stupid to take him off of it .
On a 300cc two stroke in the open class?
I don't care who it is, or what country they are riding for, I want to see this happen. Put someone or better yet, multiple someone's on a 300 2t in the open class. Everts for BEL would be a good one too, he was good on the 125...

Seems to me like he’s been going more than fine without a factory bike, why change now?
Looking at Deans bike in the pits it looks pretty stock. Only thing really noticeable is the akrapovic pipe on it. I'd assume he'd have an ignition as well and he is running panta race fuel.
If he could line up a stock bike and take his suspension and ignition it might be all he needs to be comfortable and competitive

Australia will take a powerful line-up into the 2023 Monster Energy FIM Motocross of Nations (MXoN) in France from October 6-8, with siblings Jett and Hunter Lawrence to be joined by fellow Queenslander Dean Ferris at the annual teams’ showstopper.

The triumvirate takes winning form into the MXoN, with Ferris (Yamaha) recently wrapping up a fourth MX1 title in the Australian ProMX championship, while the Lawrences stole the show on their factory Hondas across the Pacific in the AMA Pro Motocross series: Hunter easily winning the 250cc class and Jett utterly dominant in the 450cc division with a peerless, unbeaten season – 22 wins from as many starts. It was just the fifth clean sweep of the 450cc category since its inception, and the first by a rookie.
With stellar individual seasons etched into the record books, Ferris and the Lawrences now turn their attention to the high-stakes MXoN – an event where Australia has come tantalisingly close to victory in the past but without achieving the ultimate reward.
Last year’s MoN in America was a case-in-point, where the Jett-led Team Australia finished a close third behind the host nation and France. Australia also finished third in 2011.
With all three Aussies adding to their CVs in 2023 – Jett in the most emphatic, exhilarating fashion – Australian team manager Michael Byrne is an emboldened figure ahead of this year’s event at the 1.5km Ernee circuit, 300km west of Paris.
“The level of anticipation is high ahead of every Motocross of Nations is high, but this year it has gone to another level,” said the US-based Byrne, himself a former MXoN competitor.
“Hunter and Jett are in career-best form, and I continually marvel at the work rate, skill and temperament of Ferris – he’s the epitome of a tireless campaigner.
“The MXoN is a pinnacle event on the international calendar because it’s tough, pressure-packed and uncompromising – as it should be when the cream of the motocross crop from around the globe come together. I’m super confident Hunter, Jett and Dean will ride out of their skin and do Australia proud.”
Byrne will be supported at the MXoN by Gary Benn, who was previously a long-time Team Australia manager.
Hunter will compete in the MX2 class at the three-race MXoN, while Jett will take on MXGP duties and Ferris is in the Open category. All three classes compete against each other once, and a team can drop its worst result.
It will be the seventh MXoN appearance for Ferris, the fourth for Hunter and second for Jett.
The final entry list for the event will be released shortly, but will include all the European heavyweights such as France and Italy as well as New Zealand and the most successful team in MXoN history – America.

The mx2 rider needs one good ride with the open rider is good , if you have to throw out a open riders score it is a lot harder

Let's not get ahead of ourselves, this is a strong team, arguably our strongest.
However, just because the USA are too scared to send a team, there are still half a dozen teams just as strong as Australia, that are courages and proud to compete for there countries this year.

Either way this is the best shot we’ve ever had in my opinion.
France is favourite imo , but with no herlings for the Dutch , and no deegan and sexton for the yanks , Aussie is next best , France will need to be very good

was riding at glen echo a few months back, me and ferris were almost the only ones on track at one point. There's a triple I wasn't hitting because the landing was so short and steep, when I doubled it ferris nearly took my head off. Can't believe how close he got to me like there was so much room lol
he is still so so fast he hasn't lost much speed at all and he's definitely a performer that thrives on pressure. Mxon is gunna be sick!
