I feel Jett had a better run in the second moto after he had made changes.
Please remember, Jett like some others, did not have a proven sx setup suited to him to start with.
So I feel that this may have been the main issue in the first moto.
I knew if I clicked on this thread that you two would be in here jerking each other off over how clever you each think you are.

Forgot Sexton was in the class until I seen him win this weekend.. Feels like its been a whole outdoor season since he has lead a lap or won a race.

I had forgot how good Sexton looks on a sx track then got disappointed remembering he's not going to be on Honda anymore. God I hope the KTM isn't a step backwards

Jett is not "my boy" - but he is a very talented rider. I nor anyone else claimed he was godlike and was going to win every single race in 2023.

Right here? Were we supposed to go somewhere after a 4th? l thought the 2nd place charge through the pack was pretty good for his 2nd 450 SX race.
I think you’ll find they all started with SX settings as a baseline.
His starts killed him. Second moto was better but it took him a bit too long to get to second and chase was gone. His starts were the most unreal part of the nationals. He carved through the pack nicely but sx isn’t as wide as mx. And there were a lot of pinch points on that track this weekend limiting passing opportunities. Some decent passing spots but quite a few areas where you weren’t going to pass a guy going half your speed.

FWIW - the snivelers confuse my making fun of Jett for the coverage/fawning/over-saturation etc.... I like Jett, kid is an awesome talent. He will be a threat moving forward in SMX. I think it was good for him to have a bite of humble-pie this weekend.

Here comes the ole “hold the rider to a higher standard because he just went undefeated” routine. Same thing happened to RC and Stew. This is really more of a compliment to their skill level if you think about it. You win so much that when you don’t, people ask why.

...except Sexton who said he softened his SX setting up in preparation and didn't touch a clicker all weekend. So 90% maybe? Ryder D also seemed to like it.
